Friendly and helpful staff an excellent location just of the main street in the old town, easy access to the cafes and restaurants. A 10 minute walk to the station of the Harz Steam Railway. With safe of street parking. Highly recommended.
As I would not hesitate to recommend this property to family and friends it is very difficult to find a criticism.
The hotel is in a good location on the main pedestrian street. We had a one bedroom apartment, number 16, on the top floor with a nice view of the Brocken mountain and the castle. There was a lift to the first floor and then stairs. To keep fit we climbed up and down the 54 steps from the carpark whenever possible! Luckily the nice staff carried our suitcases up when we arrived and down on our departure. The building is traditional "half-timbered" but well renovated. The room had high ceilings, lots of openable windows and radiators for heating. We only used the frig, kettle and sink, but the kitchenette was equipped with a microwave oven, stove top and basic kitchen utensils. The bed and shower were good, the room was very quiet, Wifi good. Although the room had no safe, we felt secure at all times. A good breakfast was provided in a very nice dining room with a view to the castle.
The hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways.
Central location and car parking on site.
The location is simply put perfect. The main street of the city right through a doorway and a cozy quiet courtyard with parking below the rooms. Several of the rooms have a view of the castle which is pretty impressive especially at night. The very so friendly and did absolutely everything to make sure we had a great stay. The rooms were very clean - the hotel in general was tightly kept. We will certainly be recommending the hotel to everyone we know.
A few of the employees were not the best English speakers which can make it a bit tricky if you don’t speak English - to be fair though that is nitpicking considering everything else.
