The hotel part is 25 meters in a small side street, restaurant and terrace are on the bigger road. Parking along the main road, free-of-charge. Nice, clean and quiet room, with all comfort. Several rooms have a common inner patio-terrace (no view on the river). Good breakfast and very friendly staff !

Cons: Not much.. I really don't have anything negative to say.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a traditional hotel, the staff very friendly, nice food, beautiful scenery. I give it 10 because in my opinion it fills all the criteria for what one would expect in a traditional place. Some people on the internet seem to expect the Hilton!

Pros: Good breakfast and nice room.
Cons: Well situated next to the river
7.9 Good
Pros: Our host was very apologetic. At breakfast he refunded us half the price of our booked room. The breakfast was superb.
Cons: We were given keys to our room, but we found the room occupied. We were shown an alternative room, but it was a very basic room with two single beds in an annex, accessed through a service entrance. Having booked a double room months in advance, this was not good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect little hotel! We wish we could have stayed there more then one night that we planned. Because the location is marvelous, close to lovely castles and locations. The breakfast is amazing! Completely delicious! Super recommended.

Pros: Breakfast was very good with good choice
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great! Room felt a little shabby for the price I paid.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was clean, staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay..
Cons: I only had 2 observations.1, we hoped for a view of the river or castle unfortunately we could only see the wall and windows of the hotel next door. 2, our room was above the night enterence and people were smoking and talking very laud till late into the night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with a family-oriented atmosphere; excellent restaurant; hospitable and friendly staff
Cons: Nothing!
7.9 Good
Pros: - excellent and diverse breakfast menu - openness from the staff to change our room and give us the one we were expecting to get based on the pictures advertised on booking. Initial room was very small with old furniture and dirty carpets. The new one we got, was recently refurbished and looked very modern, clean and way more welcoming. - 'a la carte' dinner menu with special dishes for those interested to try something different
Cons: - we didn't initially get the room seen and advertised on booking (I don't know whether that's a miss on booking's side or on the hotel's) - the rooms advertised on booking are the modern, recently refurbished ones, but NOT all the rooms are like that. Actually the majority of the rooms are smaller, with old furniture and carpets like the ones we got. And in this case the value for money is very low. - staff didn't speak good English making it difficult to communicate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A good restaurant; a scenic location on the Mosel; good location for Burg Eltz; and a bonus was the availability of a sauna
Cons: The floors in the rooms were creaky, so it could be disturbing to others on floors below you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and facility were quite modern and clean.
Cons: Parking could have been a bit more convenient
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice buffet. Super clean and spacious room
Cons: Not many options for food in the menu
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was large and decent quality. Bathroom was modern and clean. View out was nice, facing the mountains and old houses. The staff were accommodating. The hotel also has a nice history dating to the 1400s, and I accidentally met the cousin of the hotel owner on the train and we talked for the whole journey... shows how small the town is.
Cons: Not going to penalise the hotel for this, but the barrenness of the area. I suppose people stay there for a specific purpose, but there's really not much around. I should have stayed in a more central/city area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel and restaurant on the river. Very quiet little village away from tourists, as a result, very little English was spoken, so I’m glad I brushed up on my German and used google translate for a pleasant stay. Dinner was excellent and service was professional. The local wine was delicious from the vineyards on the hills behind the hotel. The room was clean and very nice. Best hotel of my trip.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: THE STRUCTURE IS NICE AND WELL MAINTAINED AND VERY CLEAN, THE STAFF IS SIMPLY EXCELLENT, WE ENJOYED THE SHORT STAY AND WE WILL GO AGAIN WHEN IN THE AREA.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner is very kind and friendly. Shower is good.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Exceptional owner who welcomed us and helped us get parked and into the room quickly Was a beautiful, perfect location in a wonderful Mosel river valley village. The downtown center was only a few yards away with several great cafes. Fun little indoor mini-golf center just a short walk down the river front. Had fun with the family while we escaped the rain.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, nice house, sufficient breakfast
Cons: Breakfast was a bit late and the water in the shower (room 5) took a long time to go away
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good. The bread is fresh. And the coffee is very good. The rooms are clean.
Cons: The breakfast and the location.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the B&B is clean and quiet, the breakfast is good and the owner, although she speaks only German, is very kind, attentive and friendly, we really enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend her B&B to others.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location in a lovely little town, very clean rooms, nice breakfast. There is free parking just around the corner but you need to ask for directions at the hotel as it's a bit hidden.
Cons: We were a family of three and it looks like we had been given the smallest room at the B&B, hardly room to put your suitcase down and the terrace that was noted on the booking was not there so we found the descriptions a bit misleading. The room was very clean but there was a strong, musty smell coming from the piping/bathroom. We only had one night there so it was doable. More suitable for couples, I wouldn't recommend it when travelling with (smaller) children.
7.5 Good
Pros: Well decorated, clean, nice breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: location of the house
Cons: nothing to think of
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location in the centre of an interesting village on the Moselle valley.

Pros: Very quaint and exactly what a B&B should be. Lovely staff and facilities.
Cons: Stairs were difficult for my elderly parents.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A large, comfortable room with a generous bathroom. The hotel is situated on a pretty old-town square. Friendly owner.
Cons: The decor is slightly dated.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was friendly and staff welcoming. The evening meal was excellent although all service finished at 9pm. As we were staying one night it was enough. Parking was available without any problem.
Cons: The breakfast was limited in options by UK standards and the pillows in the rooms were minimal. the google directions to hotel were poor and it took some finding
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large comfortable clean room and bathroom. Free parking. Good breakfast. Restaurant meals very good. Second visit here.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The room was big, good location in a little cozy village in the middle of the moselle valley, near Koblenz and Eltz castle and a lot of other tourist attractions
Cons: Wasn’t very clean. It was a bit dusty actually. We asked for a cot in advance and they say no problem but then they gave it in a bag for us to put it together in a “do-it-yourself-not-so-nice-kind-of-way”. Not even sheets for the baby cot. I was a bit disappointed overall. Breakfast not so special.

Pros: Attention to detail. Old fashioned hospitality!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host, incredible old architectural building, very very good breakfast, clean room, nice bathroom with big window and I am very sorry that I couldn’t stay longer.
Cons: It is placed near a railroad but is ok because the windows are isolated phonicaly very good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We booked triple room and on arrival we were upgraded to the 2 bedrooms apartment. Served breakfast was fresh and tasty. There is limited parking in the Pension, but there is free public parking just few steps from the house.
Cons: There is a train track just by the house, Luckily, soundproofing is good so trains are not so much of an issue. House is on the 'wrong' bank of the river, so you need to drive or walk to the restaurants, but because of it, you will have better panoramic view over the water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: historic place, big garden, very nice owners, very fine breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved that the house is so old , from 977. Bed was super comfy, breakfast setting was beautiful and food was delicious right down to the fresh strawberries .
Cons: There is a rail line right beside the house, once I got used to it I wasn’t bothered by it, but it is noisy when the train goes by.

Pros: The Host is very nice and friendly. The Breakfast timings are actually from 8am. I told them that I have work at 7am so the host has actually arranged the Breakfast before I leave. The room was also clean, quite and cozy.

Pros: Remote in a nice way. The room was very spacious and accomodating
Cons: Old fasioned
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Comfortable. Friendly staff Location was up the hill from the Mosel River and you can walk to Burg Eltz from this location. You will have to pay to park you car here if you care not staying at the hotel. Quiet location Lovely evening meal - we booked half board Breakfast was continental and very nice - plenty of choice.
Cons: Nothing, we loved this location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A new modern Hotel at the end of the road in the middle of the Forest, when your GPS says "you've arrived at your destination" just keep going about another 500 metres to the end of the road. We had a large room at the back of the Hotel, very comfortable bed, and it was so nice to wake up to lots of birdsong in the morning. We were fascinated by the robot lawnmower cutting the grass. On the website it said that the restaurant is closed Mondays & Tuesdays so we expected to have to drive somewhere to find dinner; but they said "No, no it's only closed to outsiders not to Hotel guests!" We had a very nice meal at a very reasonable price The restaurant is only open from 18h30 to 20h30 in the evenings. Breakfast was good but we were the last to arrive and there were no croissants left! The footpath out of the end of the Car Park takes you to Burg Eltz. It's a 40 minute walk. It costs 10 euros to visit the castle but that includes the guided tour and it's well worth it. There are two good value café/restaurants in the Castle complex. If you don't want to do the walk drive back to the village and there is a shuttle bus to the Castle.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean just needs updating
Cons: Difficult to find even GPS had trouble
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location in a forest and next to a trail to Burg Eltz. Very quiet. The owner was very friendly.
Cons: There could be better instructions in the guest booklet on how to return the keys when the front desk is not opened and recommendations for local attractions such as restaurants and bakeries.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great dinner and breakfast service! Beautifully located in the woods, perfect spot to head out walking in the hills!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in
Cons: Leaving
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were basic and the food was excellent
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location if one is hiking the Moselsteig or going to Burg Eltz.
Cons: Hotel is rather charmless. Other than it's location, the interiors feels like a generic hotel you would find on the side of a highway. Bizarrely, one cannot pay the night before, nor drop off the keys with an early morning departure. You will sinply have to wake up, check out and have breakfast when they tell you to.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was lovely. We went off-season, but we’re still able to walk up to Burg Eltz. This place is so clean, the food in the restaurant was delicious, and the staff very kind. Great value and we would stay there again.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were lovely and were very helpful. The breakfast was simple but there was good variety and many things the kids found delicious.
Cons: There were lots of bugs in our room. I thought they were bedbugs but the owners said they live in the wood (our room had lots of wooden beams). They swiftly and professionally moved us to a different room BUT when we went back on our return journey, there were only a few BUT they were still there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms were nice
Cons: The stairs were too narrow and deep, hard to carry suitcases.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast, good value
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel superb location and breakfast
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Situated nicely in the square with good eateries
Cons: No bar with little atmosphere however, plenty of choice nearby
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy quiet rooms, lovely staff and a great location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in beautiful, charming, quiet small town. We had a marvellous room (no. 5) at 1st floor with 4 (!) windows and great view of the beautiful historic houses. Very clean. Fridge in the room, great, we like cold Riesling and enjoyed being in the middle of the wine region. Breakfast simple but ok. Good coffee. We felt very welcome. Beautiful nature and nice walking opportunities (which was the main purpose of our stay). Uffe and Jette Vindum, Denmark
Cons: Not a big thing, but... On our return day we had very little time for breakfast. Would've been nice if it was ready at the specified time (8 o'clock), and it was late. Can't ruin our good impression of the hotel, though...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, cosy, and amazingly authentic place. Every room has its own unique design. The whole place feels less like a hotel and more like a warm home. The location is nothing short of wonderful. Walking outside you’ll find yourself in quiet, small town surrounded by green hills. You can take a walk down the paved streets that go along classic German houses. Restaurants and supermarket are all in the walking distance from the hotel. We stayed in a group of 8 people for just one day but we wish we could stay longer. 10 out of 10!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Check-in was very easy since we booked using Booking and the hotel staff were magnificent! They were very friendly and attentive. If you’re a people person feel free to engage in conversation, the Gentleman is happy to talk and share stories. We had a good time speaking and laughing with him. It was such a pleasant experience and he went out his way to ensure we were happy. If you have a chase enjoy the Garden. We did not have time, but did step outside to view the nice atmosphere. Our room was lovely; big, had good amenities, refrigerator, nice closet space, tv, and Bible. Breakfast was wonderful, especially since we do not eat meat or seafood. They had our table set nicely for us with cheese, boiled eggs, veggies, meat (they didn’t know), cereal, milk, juice, coffee, and tea. They even set a place for our toddler which was such a nice gesture! Parking was around the corner, which was not an issue for us. We parked across the street to unload the car and did the same to leave. It was not an issue, but some may not like it, given the location it’s expected. The location was perfect for us, since it was not far from the main highway, affordable, and not far from the river. They offer food at their restaurant or you can eat across the street at a couple other places. There’s a nice winery and a Rewe (food store) both within walking distance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again if we are going through the area.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: friendlyness and good value. The meals are excellent and so is the accomodation. The owners are very friendly and hospitable
Cons: Nothing all was good.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: After season everything is closed, if you want to eat something restaurant in the hotel it’s open after 6pm. In the city it’s maybe one small shop open after season so if you don’t have car better go to different place :) we have also totally different room like on the photos what hotel Lellmann showing. that room was close to the swimming pool, it was very smelly everywhere. That was for sure the wors hotel in our live
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Near the river.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent food (both at breakfast and at supper) and super friendly staff.
Cons: Questionable value for money; somewhat shabby overall. Window in the room didn't work properly - too many flies when fully open. Loud, irritating lift that starts running at 6 am - hope you're an early riser. Breakfast room music great if you're a Phil Collins fan, not great otherwise.
5.0 Okay
Pros: We arrived en personnel was very kind. We got a fantastic Griess-Dany mosel white wine. Diner a la carte was above expectations in a cosey space. Also breakfast was good with a lot of bread, yoghurt, cheese, jam, fresh fruit, eggs etc to choose from.
Cons: I got a phone call during our first evening and due to the early birth of my cousin, we decided to leave after one night while we’ve booked two nights. Unfortunately, there was no discount or cash-back possible... not even a voucher for a next visit! The hotel is outdated, basically like the state of the 80’s. However, some updates have been performed like the bathroom. Our room had a terrible scent, opening the window wasn’t an option because of the noisy chimney of the kitchen. The bed was ok, 2:00mtr long.

7.9 Good
Pros: Very quiet guesthouse overlooking the river. Rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. We were on the 02nd floor but had to take the stairs as could not find the lift. Nice breakfast.
Cons: No toilet paper, even when I asked for it. Check out at 11am, however at 10.30am staff barged in to clean the room. I was in underwear.
10.0 Excellent

9.2 Excellent

Cons: Would have preferred a room at the front of the hotel but we did have a view of the castle from the back.

Overview Reviews
Located in Moselkern, Hotel Moselkern is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Burg Eltz and Stiftskirche St. Martin und St. Severus. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were big and you can have a nice view on the Mosel. The rooms were clean. Parking space was offered.
Cons: The breakfast had everything you need, however, the quality of the products and the choices were limited. Food for special diets was not offered, such as lactose free milk, but the staff made a scrambled egg without milk upon request. The building is rather old and the corridor and the room smelled a bit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Welcoming and helpful staff. Good WiFi connection.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely stay right next to the Mosel. From the balcony you have a stunning view of the landscape. Well, room’s furniture is right out of the 70s but that’s absolutely ok - this style kinda matches the overall experience. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean.
Cons: none
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location for touring.
Cons: Bathroom a little dated.
7.5 Good
Pros: Next to the river. Dinner was good. Nice balcony. The host drove me to the next town to get more cash out. Host was very kind.
Cons: Dont take credit cards, even for the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant hotel in a charming little town near to Burg Eltz castle. Nice German breakfast and they have good local wine in the restaurant. Just be aware you need to pay cash and closest ATM is in next town! We did not realise this - but the owner drove us to ATM so in the end no problem!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice location. Rooms okay. Why did we have to stay on the upper floor with the little balcony, while the hotel was almost empty?
Cons: ratio €'s breakfast (€9,50, I thought) and quality.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I didn't have very high expectations from an aesthetic perspective but the hotel served well as a good, over-night location from which to visit Burg Eltz. Friendly service and cheap price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Has a great retro '70's look. Every room has a beautiful balcony overlooking the little riverside park across the street. Playground was right across the street. Also, ice cream shop. Walk from here to Burg Eltz through lovely woodland paths.
Cons: The town has no restaurants or food stores open on Sunday night. All restaurants closed at the same time/day. All surrounding towns also do the same thing. Could be staggered. Or the hotel could have a vending machine for overnight guests who are trapped there without food. Or they could warn guests who will be arriving on Sunday to bring food with them.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean room, very quiet hotel
Cons: Could only pay in cash which I hadn’t known about in advance, and the restaurant wasn’t open (although she did direct me a lovely place close by!), room was quite outdated
