Garden is very very beautiful.
It would be nice if there is some small desk or more shelfs in the bathroom.
A real pearl indeed. We arrived on pedal bikes after a day's ride into the wind. We had a room in the garden making it easy to unload the bikes and secure them in their garage overnight. We ate a great meal in their restaurant and the place is just a few minutes walk to nearby pubs and terraces on the Maas waterfront. Arcen is a lovely town .. it is my second visit there by bike and right on the Maas EuroVelo route. We left in pouring rain the next morning and were thankful for the hearty and ample breakfast ... our room was super comfy and clean and we had a good sleep in a quiet setting.
I booked this room about a month in advance and their booking.com policy is that it is cancellable with 7 day notice. This 7-day rule is quite lengthy compared to other properties and we do not usually have the luxury to make such commitments when on bikes given weather and other conditions. A bit more leniency on that would be in order.
Superb as always: quite, with style and with gorgeous garden.
The suite with the private sauna was amazing. Location is perfect and the staff was very kind.
The very small village, located next to a river, was quite nice. The hotel's room was nice.
The bathroom which was very outdated and had a hospital-feel to it, was definitely not the biggest problem. The staff, especially Nina, was outrageous. Not helpful, not even trying to give us a room at 2.30pm (official check-in at 3pm) when the festival we came for started at 2pm and the commute there would take 1h. We called three times in advance to figure out transportation to this very small far removed village literally getting next to none explanations or directions. She had no clue about distances to other nearby cities or cab prices. If you stay in that village, you can definitely have a good stay at that place but it's really not worth the 80€, the room is ok but not great and, again, part of the staff extremely rude and unfriendly. In that small, cute, friendly village, you feel an especially stark contrast.
