Formerly known as the Lamplighter when it was created in 1962, the Atomic Motel in Astoria, OR is now a unique place for guests to stay that is akin to taking a trip through time to mid-century America. This motel offers an interesting theme, and it even has décor and treats that are meant to evoke the mood of the era.

Both the exterior and the interior of the Atomic Motel have a retro feel to them. The rooms are pet-friendly and have all of the basic amenities guests will need. There is a flat screen television in the comfortable, retro lobby, as well. The motel also offers retro cruiser bikes for those who want to get out and explore all that Astoria has to offer.

Cons (-) Not too expensive and so much fun! The lady at the front desk is great. There was a free beer, chili and live music evening.

Pros (+) It has fun style and Is fairly close to town. Staff was very nice and suggested a fun hike!
Cons (-) Our room smelled a bit like wet dog for a few hours until we aired it out. You can hear everything that happens in the room next to you and there is considerable street noise from cars and trucks- some earplugs or "white noise" might be helpful- I resorted to an app that plays rain sounds so I could sleep.

Cons (-) Real loud. Our neighbors were up until 5 in the morning. I asked if we could move rooms and it was completely booked. The lady working there said they would call them and ask them to quiet down, but they never called them

Pros (+) The hotel was clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. And we loved our room the whole design and said it was just awesome it was a cozy and a home away from home I will definitely be back
