10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful house run by friendly hosts. We had a very comfortable and relaxing room and slept very well. The complimentary items were comprehensive and very generous. Highly recommended and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.
Cons: Anything said here would be nit-picking and not worth mentioning given the high standard of the room and house.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The guest lady was very friendly, helpful and sweet! :) The house is such a lovely place! We had room 5, which was one of the attic rooms. She thought about so many things, like even an ironing board
Cons: I actually have no idea!

Pros: Wonderful rooms with high ceilings and a massive en suite. The house is perfect for a light sleeper as it was amazingly quiet. Snacks in room wonderful and a classy touch.

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a splendid, historic (an actual National Trust property) and quite quirky country house (which just adds to the interest). It has a whole spa facility right next door (well a few steps away) with a lovely, large indoor pool. The staff were charming and extremely well informed and efficient. The rooms were excellently furnished, with a great shower, and ours had a lovely view over the park. The restaurant was excellent as well, for dinner and breakfast. And for what it was it was remarkably reasonable. If I could, I would go all Nigel Tufnell and give it eleven stars. A remarkable, lovely, special place, in Aylesbury no less!
Cons: The spa was a little distance to walk, outside. The weather was lovely when we stayed, but if it was not that might have made the trek from hotel to spa pool and back a bit daunting. Also, the king bed was not a real king bed, but two twins zipped together. At the extraordinarily high level of this hotel, so wonderful in so many respects, one should really have a proper king (or double) bed.
7.9 Good
Cons: To warn in the rooms, no fan or AC apart from that everything was excellent.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location , grounds and grandeur of main house
Cons: I feel the accommodation was very poor value for money. Dated and small room and bathroom. Areas of the spa are looking tired . I have stayed at more luxurious properties for far less
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious,elegant and quiet.
Cons: Reception staff were not very welcoming unlike the rest of the team.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and building stunning. Staff very nice and helpful. The spa good and the Buttery restaurant very good there.
Cons: Rooms decor need an update badly but nice size. The shower in the tub always tricky as the glass panels never big enough to prevent water on floor. Typical. No proper counter either.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent personal service from the moment we arrived at the lodge gate
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great building and staff, oozes quality, really super hotel
Cons: Dinner (beautifully cooked and presented) cost for one was ridiculous, two courses bottle of water and coffee for £88 I knew it was pricy from a previous business dinner but with last minute bookings you take what is available
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Completely charming. Felt like a guest at a stately home. Wonderful decor!
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Great authentic historic building in a spacious estate with pleasant walks.
Cons: It was disappointing not to be able to use the spa on the day of checking out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location to relax after a long day!
West Lodge Hotel - Aylesbury - Bedroom

8.9 Excellent (318 reviews)
C$ 154+
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The history of the house and beautiful garden.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent loved the garden room. Breakfast was excellent as well.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Mike and Julie are wonderful hosts and they will do all they can to make your stay pleasant. The garden is very relaxing and well taken care of. Good breakfast. The surroundings are amazing. The public park just behind the hotel is very big and the people are very nice. Local transport is not very reliable nor accurate. maybe it's best to rent a car. Taxis can only be booked from Tring or Aylesbury and they have a fixed fare (10 pounds one way from Aston Clinton to Tring train station before 10 PM and 15 pounds after that time until the last train from London which arrives around 1 AM).
Cons: - Local transport - maintenance works on the road to Aylesbury (I do realize this is temporary)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Perfect hosts and a lovely place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts very welcoming. Recently beautifully redecorated & carpeted single room, comfy bed. Great fried breakfast and buffet options. Happy to move breakfast times to suit my needs.
Cons: Only small niggles: TV mounted high on wall, caused a bit of neck ache when viewing. Panel of shower cubicle had slipped a bit leaving 1inch gap at the top. Could do with a little shelf in shower and room to put own toiletries in bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The couple that run the B&B are super welcoming and friendly. the breakfast is excellent. The room was good and the bed was comfy
Cons: the only small problem was there was tea making facilities in the room but I didn't have a cup. I arrived late so didn't want to disturb anyone. but this is only a very minor point.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Return visitor: hosts lovely people and great cooks, using top quality ingredients for great breakfast.
Cons: Very small room but it was cheap to reflect that. Maybe if I hadn’t brought 3 bags of stuff it wouldn’t have felt so cramped
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and a lovely breakfast.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, friendly, easy to get to, very nice owners.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail in the bedroom is amazing! The fixtures and fittings were so well thought out. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. It is well worth a visit, highly recommended.
Cons: I can't thing of anything to improve the whole experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful fixtures and fittings, loved the bath. Great value with included breakfast.
Cons: ..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! Staff were brilliant and helpful. Nice menu. We stayed in the gold room I believe. The bronze bath was perfect for a relaxing soak. The images don't do the room justice. The garden was very spacious and very beautiful. I feel very relaxed. Will definetly be back here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: - We loved the room, fully air-conditioned which was just what was needed for the hot weather. - Booked in for an overnight stay after we got married, and the room, people and facilities exceeded our expectations. - The room was very clean, amazingly decorated, the bed was spacious and comfortable, the roll top copper bath was awesome! - Wasn't too noisy and staff were so polite and accommodating.
Cons: - Access from the main bar to the rooms was for staff only, which meant going outside in the rain to come back in to bar to check out. Direct access to the main bar and reception from the rooms would be better. - Room windows overlooked the garden area, where patrons were drinking. So had to close the window shutters.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the food and service
Cons: The only criticism was the shower/bath tub- beautiful piece of furniture but not very practical
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Split level room - unusual for a small place but cool all the same
7.5 Good
Pros: It was very different. The room was interesting. Lovely bath and comfortable bed. Discount on the meal, which was excellent. Helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: It was a bit annoying having to leave the pub and walk round back to your room. Would have been nice to take food upstairs and the TV was a bit small for the size of the room but all and all a good stay and I’d recommend this place.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good breakfast but took over 1/2hr to get it! The next table in got better service & offered things like orange juice that we weren't! We didn't eat there in the evening which was probably a mistake as the place we went to was terrible! They seem to be very popular in the evening for food. Peroni on tap! Excellent!!
Cons: The Silver room was excellent but the quirky fixtures & furniture detracted from the practicality of the room. The hand held shower in the bath was a disappointment, I'd believed there was a shower as well as a bath. The toilet had a motion activated light. If you go during the night it's like lazer beams! Also took ages to turn itself back off.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Combination of a good pub, a classy restaurant and great food, with comfortable interesting rooms. The staff were superb - very friendly with great attention to detail.
Cons: Location is not picturesque - it’s not a country hotel - and the car park is a bit tight, but the hotel itself makes up for this.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Food was amazing and staff were really lovely! Room was perfect with a very comfortable bed.
Cons: Nothing, was perfect!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff, food very good but is a chain hotel
Cons: The smallest bathroom ever. It wasn’t possible to sit straight on the toilet as the towel rail was where your knees should sit. On the opposite side, the hand basin was so close you had to sit with your elbow over the sink. The loo roll holder was beneath your right shoulder blade-some serious contortions required!

Pros: Great location, showers had good pressure. Breakfast good both morning.
Cons: Room decor not great. Hey overall expensive for what it is.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and well cooked.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast is very good. The lighting is bathroom was too dim to see to shave properly. It is an old Hotel 16th Century so one has to make some allowances that the reconfiguration over the years has created a bit of a Jabberwocky building. but that said it is a noisy hotel with doors opening and closing, cars coming in and out of the car park all hours made worse by a sunken drain cover that rattles every time a vehicle goes over it.
7.5 Good
Pros: Cosy room and place
Cons: Dusty fans
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Room was a bit tired but nevertheless very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Location good. Food was outstanding both in the evening and breakfast time. The breakfast menu was the most extensive I have ever seen. On arrival we mentioned that a bed side light was not working and within an hour it was all fixed. Other visitors have mentioned that the bedrooms could do with a re-vamp and this is true but the rest of the hotel was spick and span and well polished.
Cons: the decor in the bedroon

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was near to the wedding venue - Waddisdon manor
Cons: The bed was very loud and was a bit dated
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great and good location if visiting Waddlesdon Manor.
Cons: Unfortunately there was no hot water in the evening due to plumber not switching the boiler on. Not the owners fault. So no shower till morning. Room 1 twin TV sound distortion and unable to listen to it. No Internet to TV for Netflix (not important to us but it might be to someone else) All moves to reduce HGV noise during the night have been done by the owners, with triple glazing. However they still woke us (but we are light sleepers). Special occasion for us so decided to treat ourselves to the fillet steak , which was on the menu. However when ordering was told that chef was not doing fillet anymore and was moving to Ribeye, however this had yet to be priced up so rump was our option.

Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Breakfast buffet took time
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable rooms, impressive old manor house.
Cons: Food in the bar was poor - burger seemed to have more garlic than beef in it, salad was limp and served on a big thick ciabatta which made it really difficult to eat (although given it tasted pretty foul could also be seen as a positive!)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Manor with history. Interior reflects its aristocratic past. Rooms, however, are quite modern with all standard facilities. Park around with big old trees, peacocks, rabbits and squirrels. Breakfast was good with standard English options.
Cons: You can feel some drainage smell in bathroom, there were some sounds from it when flushing the toilet. I had one rather small window (attic) which could be only slightly opened.

6.7 Good
Pros: The setting of the hotel was lovely.
Cons: I had to ask 6 times for something in our room to be done and it finally got done at 10:45 pm !!. I told them I want to go to bed and still we waited.
7.9 Good
Pros: Food
Cons: Beware if you are just B&B.Your not allowed to checkin before 5 and you have to check out at 10am. Cafe is closed by then and you have very limited time in spa facilities, which defeats the purpose of staying there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities and beautiful grounds. All meals were superb!
6.7 Good
Pros: The jacuzzi and the pool/ sauna and stream room was absolutely lovely and I did meet some staff member which were extremely helpful and lovely and I did get a little discount for the circumstances which I appreciated and the food was lovely
Cons: The bedding was not clean it had some nasty stains plus it was 2 single mattresses zipped together which meant the bed had a dip in the middle which was very uncomfortable for myself and my partner to sleep in , the dessert was served to us and we decided to take it to our room because what it was served with it made my partner sick and he threw it back up which was unsettling fortunately I didn’t eat what it was served with so I was okay , some of the staff members were extremely but I think that because we may not as came across as high class as the other customers which is no reason to be treated different but yeah.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked the ground floor room. The accessible room was close to the entrance and restaurant. Very convenient
Cons: It would have been nice if the accessible room had a wet room. No way my sister could use the bath but we knew that when we booked. It didn’t matter for 1 night but would have been difficult to stay longer.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The location and the size of the room.
Cons: No air conditioning, the room window was broken so it could not be shut, the shower room was both dirty and in need of repair, and the electrics for the room where faulty.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed was a good size and comfortable. The one guy receptionist was good and friendly. The access to swimming pool and gym was a nice bonus. Receptionist gave us plates and cutlery when we ordered food to be delivered.
Cons: Housekeeping didnt clean our room at all, we stayed 4 nights and not once did we get clean bed sheets. Receptionists outside of the guy that's on night shift barely talked. Guests were smoking weed. 2nd time we went for breakfast we got served by a swimming pool lifeguard that had no idea what he was doing. It's almost like we offended him by coming for breakfast.
