location and the place is kinda funky
We only stayed 1 night as the amenities were not supplied in the room. No tea coffee maker no iron no fridge
Fun style, comfy bed and pillows. Great shower and shower gel. Staff were friendly
No coffee making facilities. Main reception area was sometimes smelly and humid
The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful despite me needing to use Google translate quite a few times. The room was clean. The AC worked well. The shower had good pressure. The hostel is located close to a (very overpriced) night market and there are really good restaurants in an alley (20) just up the street. Public transit is close but we used grab cars most of the time because we only went for the weekend and didn't want to waste any time.
We stayed in a room not the hostel, and having stayed in MANY places in south east Asia and 4 others in Thailand I have come to expect a couple of free bottles of water per day. At Silom art hostel they charge 10 Baht for a small bottle and 20 for a.large bottle....they same price vendors sell water for outside the tourist attractions. It was annoying that we had to walk to 7 eleven to buy water for 6 Baht. Also, on the website they say that hot water/an electric kettle is available in the kitchen area. The don't mention that the kitchen area is staff only and that you can't make a proper cup of tea or coffee because they bring the water out to you in a cup. It would be much better if you could do it yourself. And although it was fine for me, they advertise an elevator, which they do indeed have but if someone was unable to use stairs, they couldn't get to their room. There is a step up to the elevator and are stairs up or down from where the elevator stops to the floors. There was only one double outlet in the room besides the inaccessible one behind the tv and it isn't near the bed.
The hotel was good, very comfortable and near a lot of places
There’s no towel provided
