'Quiet and friendly' really meant what it said. We were there for a difficult hospital appointment, and nothing in our stay made the occasion more difficult. We felt cared for.
We only had one pillow each, though extras were delivered speedily when requested.
The room itself was good and spacious, the bed was large and comfortable, and the location of the hotel was only 2 minutes from the relatives we came to visit.
Minor points: Room was for two people but hospitality tray items were barely sufficient for one. We both like a bedtime chocolate - one sachet isn't good enough. I know one can ask for more but one shouldn't have to! Also toilet roll holder should be easily reachable from toilet and not where it will get dripped on from handbasin.
Very good breakfast. Even including Black pudding! Plus even though check in was supposed to be 3pm, was able to check in at 12:45pm - good job as the wedding I was going to was at 2pm!
staff very friendly
bar was very exspensive and no atmosphere at all and the 'superior' room did nothing to warrant its name
Food available late - well I was late and therefore it was limited but to 11pm and then a few things after - sandwiches mainly. As the Anvil Concert Hall, where I was going is next to the shopping arcade I feel they think you have food but not so because the concerts do not begin until 745 and this was ended at 1030pm. By the time I reached the hotel some miles out, it was after 11pm. I was lucky in that I got a double room on booking because I was a late booker, also this was at a much lower rate that normal.
Some of the things on the room service menu could have been offered all the time, I think this as what was available was. as far as cooking, heating, etc. just as simple to prepare. From the map it appears closed to town than it is. Had I stayed normally, the price would have been rather high, considering I did not need to use any of their spa, swimming pool facilities and the fact that, as I came by train and not car, it became more costly due to taxi fares (dearer here than London!). Not the hotel's fault but roadwork meant that it was an even longer journey round and about.
Everything was the way it's described. Ideal for my stay
Maybe a mini fridge to keep cool drinks/Air conditioning
Good hotel staff and service
Room, staff and services
The food - The dinner buffet looked like it had been there for hours and the meat of the day - lamb roast looked evn worse. I eat from the menu but not 100%
The room itself. The people are service / customer oriented and have excellent responses to customer queries.
