Overview

In the Golden Triangle at the heart of Bordeaux, the Best Western Premier Hotel Bayonne Etche Ona, Bordeaux, France, occupies two beautiful 18th-century houses a few steps apart, one carrying an Art Deco atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, the other the air of a traveller's cabinet of curiosities. The rooms and suites and the elegant lounges were designed in-house down to the fabrics, lighting, and materials, with soft, shimmering colour palettes, soundproofing, air conditioning, a coffee machine, quality toiletries, and deluxe bedding, and a reception-bar that doubles as a calm spot for a working meeting. A buffet breakfast, room service, and a 24-hour reception complete the stay. Bordeaux is the Port of the Moon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose honey-gold 18th-century facades hold more protected buildings than any French city but Paris, curving along the Garonne in an unbroken classical sweep, with the great wine country of the Médoc and Saint-Émilion just beyond the city.
