Check in was fantastic Car was exceptionally clean Drop off went smoothly My rating for ‘value for money’ was due to the fact that I was charged more than quoted. The car was what we ordered. A bonus was that it was a hybrid. Enjoyable and met my expectations However 4 weeks earlier we reserved a Budget car in Christchurch NZ. It was to be a Camry ( class E car ) but at pickup we were told that we would be getting a Corolla instead. I said it was of lesser value and to adjust the price. He said he didn’t have time for that and we were lucky to get a car. It was hard to accept the arrogance of the agent. When we turned the car in at Auckland the staff were sympathetic but said they could do nothing. Also when booking I asked if we would have to leave our car on the South Island, take the ferry to the North Island and pick up another car there This is the procedure we had in 2006 but no one at Budget had any idea. I even called a friend in New Zealand to get a phone number for Budget in NZ but they as in North America never answered the phone. When we arrived by air in Christchurch I checked with the Budget desk and they informed me that I would have to take the car on the ferry. Only problem was that only 2 of their 6 ferries were in operation at the time We got lucky with a cancellation so did get to the North Island Budget owes me an apology and compensation for this fiasco Awaiting your reply Ernest Stefanson vikingph@mymts.netReviewed 23 Mar. 2023

Pros:Staff were excellent. The staff at the drop-off point were helpful and efficient.Cons:Queuing to get in to the hut/portable office then a further wait at the pick-up was an irritation. If you have periods of high demand perhaps your facilities or staff, or both should be increased.Reviewed 12 Mar. 2020
