I reserved an SUVCons:I reserved an SUV online. When I arrived, I was given a mini van and told that there were no SUVs on site, but that I should come back to the airport in the morning if I wanted to trade out the mini van for an SUV, because several cars were being returned at midnight. At 20 minutes each way to and from the airport, I decided to call first thing in the morning just to make sure. After 45 frustrating minutes, no one could help me - I was told I needed to talk to someone at the counter, yet the call center could not connect me to the counter, and the 'local' phone numbers listed online and on my contract all patched me through to the call center. There was no way to call the local counter directly. I had to rearrange my work schedule to drive back out to the airport, only to be told on arrival that there were no SUVs available. I asked for the manager's phone number, called and spoke to a woman who made no apology whatsoever and was unable to assist me. Additionally, the mini van they gave me was dirty, with trash on the floor, and it was completely out of windshield washer fluid with the warning light on. The online reservation service for Budget/Avis did not deliver what was promised. My company and I will not be renting from you again.Reviewed 22 Aug. 2016

Pros:The car ran well and was good on mileage.Cons:The emergency reserve person working on the 27th was extremely stressed and taking it out on the customers. I stood in line for 2 hrs to get the car I had reserved. I also did not receive a mid size SUV even though that’s what I reserved. I received a large car but paid the mid size SUV price. I would NEVER call in that person to work ever again. Even if it’s an emergency. No patience, rude to the customers, told us all to go somewhere else, she even said out loud that she didn’t know how to do anything. Anyone would be better than her.Reviewed 3 Jan. 2020

Pros:Easy pick up and drop off. But that is due to the airport not being busy and not Budget. Both of the problem reservations I was able to switch cars after a few days of the initial reservation. But wasted time and gas driving back to do so. Shouldn't have to do that.Cons:Budget must have had a computer glitch with pricing recently. I've had two reservations in the last month that they refused to honor the price. With both reservations, I did not receive the type of car requested which was supposed to be a 4 door Chrysler 200 or similar. Neither a 2 door Ford Mustang nor a 2 door manual transmission Chevy Camaro are similar. It was difficult with four adults one time and 2 adults and a child seat with the other reservation. Each time the agent stated that they are not required to give a similar car if they don't have one. Don't offer a reservation if you don't have the type of car. One mixup I could understand. Two is a pattern. The staff acts like they don't really care that much to make it right. I would not rent from this company at St. George, UT again.Reviewed 31 Jul. 2016

Pros:Price was goodCons:I rented a 4x4 pickup because there was three of us going on a ski trip. They stated that the pickup (2020 Ram Limited) had too many miles on it and could not be rented. They in turn gave me a Durango only to discover that it was not a 4x4, they then traded that for a Toyota 4-Runner which was a gutless tinny 4x4 that barely made it over the mountain and the cruise control did not work. I ended up trading that in for a Ford Explorer Platinum which was perfect... So what is my time worth??? I made a reservation weeks in advance and ended up getting keys for 4-different vehicles before getting something that was satisfactory!! Disappointed to say the least!Reviewed 15 Mar. 2021

Very Accomodating but Limited Selection and Expensive InsurancePros:This location didn't have the SUV I requested, so they upgraded me temporarily to a 10 passenger van and then gave me a pick-up truck ( which was still an upgrade. ) as soon as they had one available. Overall, they were quite easy to work with at the store and a much better experience than I had at one of their local competitors in town a week prior. The truck I got was brand new, with less than 500 miles on it, and was immaculately clean. The van was also fairly clean, albeit it had a bit of sand on the floor, which I'd expect for the Utah desert.Cons:I don't know if they were just going through an unusually busy June with the National Park nearby or what, but it seemed like they only had 1 or 2 of each type of vehicle on the lot so it was pretty much impossible for them to have everything the online site said they had. Also, while Budget is usually pretty economical to rent from, if you have to use a debit card or your card is declined ( mine was declined because of my bank's traveler's protections.), their corporate policy requires you pay for the rental insurance, regardless of whether or not you have your own, which almost doubles the per day cost of the rental.Reviewed 29 Jun. 2017

Cons:Car stunk to high heaven. Smelled like somebody smoked in the car and they used some strong smelling cleaner to cover it up. Was so bad I had to stop and get some febreeze to counteract the smell.Reviewed 19 Oct. 2020

Pros:I suppose the fact the car we finally got did not break down and drove wellCons:We arrived on the Tues after Thanksgiving. Staff greeted us with "we're so stressed out, so many cars came back, we can't keep up. Your car won't be ready for an hour or more as we just don't have the staff to keep up with the cleaning". Not a good start to OUR vacation. We ordered a car, and they offered us a truck instead, but it was a monster truck, huge! Poor gas mileage, difficult to park. So we went and got lunch and came back to exchange. Now a line, had to wait 30 min to get waited on. Then same sad story from agent, but we got a car. Went out to lot, they were still cleaning so we helped put it back together, and had them forgo the rest of cleaning--now 4 hrs into our vacation time, no fun. Still hearing how stressed they were. Hidden ChargesPros:Car was as expected.Cons:Travelling with golf clubs, luggage and friends is always hectic. Small airport, but no one at Budget Counter and no sign. Someone told us to check st Avis counter. Signed paperwork for car and initialed were I was told. WASN'T told I had to initital some extremly small print to decline some phony insurance from fom NY city! Got a charge on credit card after I returned home. Pros:The staff was very nice and made it super easy to pick up and drop off my car. The car was clean and looked brand new, and it had very comfortable seats .Cons:I did not get the car I had reserved because they did not have one on the lot...instead they gave me a Mustang...I think this was an upgrade?
