Like the majority of cities in the U.S., Irving has wide roads and large parking spaces. And, luckily for drivers, this means they will have no issues renting even the largest of vehicles. Of course, if you plan on road tripping across Texas or maybe even going as far afield as another state, you may wish to consider a vehicle with a lower carbon footprint and better gas mileage, like a sedan or compact.
Irving’s residential areas feature speed limits of 25 mph to 35 mph, while streets in urban areas range from 25 mph to 50 mph. On interstates and highways, the speed limit starts out at 70 mph but occasionally will go as high as 75 or 80 mph on the largest interstates.
In general, on-street parking is not too difficult to find throughout Irving, especially in the less crowded residential parts of town. However, as you get closer to Dallas proper, streetside parking can become scarce during peak hours. Parking garages are a great option for drivers heading towards Dallas or the airport, as they are amply available anytime. Daily rates at garages typically start out at $2.00 an hour with full day rates going for around $10.00.
The average gas price in Irving is C$ 5.27 per litre over the past 30 days. Filling up a gas tank costs between C$ 63 and C$ 84, depending on the car size.

Yes. Irving’s main toll road is State Highway 183. If you’re renting vehicles from the car rental center at DFW Airport, you may also need to pay tolls on the International Parkway, depending on which route you take to enter the city. Pay for tolls using TxTags, EZ Tags, or TollTags depending on the road or via Pay by Plate, which is acceptable on all toll roads.
Texas State Highway 183 is a key road connecting Irving to the entire Dallas-Fort Worth Region. It runs between Fort Worth, Dallas, and transverses Irving. Texas State Highway 114 is also key, connecting Irving to New Mexico.

Pros:
I prepaid for a Hertz rental car for our 5 day vacation. However when we arrived to the rental location, there were no cars available. The Hertz staff were unhelpful and did nothing to remedy the situation besides giving me the Hertz phone number. In short we lost money and time and gained nothing from the experience except the wisdom to never book through Kayak again.8.0 Very good

Pros:
There was absolutely nothing to like, from pickup to rental period to customer service, everything was a hassle and Hertz was completely unhelpful.Cons:
The car was in no condition to drive. There was noises coming out of the dashboard that got louder as I accelerated and it was so loud in the cabin that my wife and I had to scream. The washer fluid ran out after an hour on my way to New Mexico. The journey was horrible and Hertz in New Mexico did not have a car for me to swap at 4 locations. It wasted our vacation time and we had to cut our trip short to return back whilst enduring the noises for 12 hours, stopping on the way several times to check the car.2 locations in Irving
