Terrible. They were rude, inconsiderate and did NOT honor the reservation. I told them then why did they show the availability and why did they take the reservation in the first place and they said "you can take it up with corporate" and despite having the car and me being in it, they turned me back from the check out booth. It was very unprofessional and rude. Will never rent from Hertz again and Kayak should take this up with the company. It caused me to stay back in Dallas at night and i had to pay surge pricing on Uber not to mention the hotel stay. I need to be reimbursed for the same.Reviewed 9 Mar. 2024

I canceled my rental three weeks before we were scheduled to pick up. Our travel plans changed. They tried to charge me a cancelation fee of $98. The one day rental was $137. I was irate. I escalated the call and eventually got a full refund after threatening to write a bad review, but it was ridiculous that they tried to charge me in the first place. I think they deserve a bad review. I canceled three weeks before, it’s the height of rental season (summer), and I was picking up/dropping off at major airports. The car was going to be rented regardless. I would have accepted a minimal fee, but $100?! And what’s with charging me upon rental, not when I pick up the car?
