Had to wait in line for two hours to get the car due to Hertz management and operational failures. Cars were not cleaned as they were delivered to the location by Hertz late (typically Hertz drops off the night before, but in this case they were dropped off the same morning). Further, only two employees were working when typical staff is 3-4 people (the manager stated that they knew they had over 40 reservations to fill that morning). Apparently Hertz management fired two people at the location earlier in the week without having substitute staff ready. Despite having booked two weeks in advance (and having pre-paid) my ordered car type was not available. The manager at the location refused any sort of compensation for Hertz's multiple failures on management and operational levels. Syrupy sweet words do not cover mismanagement and the cost in time that I incurred. Enterprise has been a better outfit on every occasion. It is no accident that the stock is near all-time lows, they have serious problems at Hertz.

They did not have cars available even though I reserved and prepaid for 3 days. No call to alert and I only found out once I arrived to pick. Was unable to take my father to his covid shot as a result. I'm now in the nightmare of trying to get my money back.

Absolutely the worst!! It took over 2 hours in line in a dark underground parking lot in 90 degree heat to get the car and I was informed this wasn't out of the ordinary. My 1 year old and I had to go down 3 more levels into an even darker corner of the lot to actually get the car. We waited here for another 20 mins. Completely awful experience! No grade is worthy for this experience other than an "F"

The directions to pickup and drop off the car were confusing and the signage in the garage was poor. The check in process was slow, though I wisely arrived very early and didn't have to wait long. There were no complications with the reservation itself, though, and I got my car without too much trouble.

Waited a full hour in a line in a dark, dirty car garage to pick up rental. Definitely the worst pick-up experience ever and will avoid at all costs in the future.

It was clear vehicles are not cleaned or evaluated for road worthiness between rentals. First vehicle I rented had such a bad cigarette smell it was unbearable to sit in the vehicle. They had tried to put in air fresheners in the vehicle, but that only made the smell worse. In addition there was paint pen writing on all the windows, not sure the reason behind this. I had to ask the attendant to remove the paint on the windows otherwise it would have been unsafe to drive. I requested a vehicle change because this one was unsatisfactory. They didn't have any other vehicles in stock so I had to go to another location to change the vehicle for a new one. Once I drove 45 mins and picked up the second vehicle that new one immediately had issues. One of the tires had a slow leak and it cause met to have to stop 3 times to refill the tire on my way to my destination. Again this vehicle was unclean as well. One of the seats was covered in syrup. Overall a poor experience and I will not be renting from them again.

Horrendous. Waited 2 hours bc they overbooked. 7 people ahead of me in the same situation. Then the only option I was given was to pay extra for a luxury car despite it being the only car and not my choice.

Extremely bad experience with Avis. Waited over an hour in live to get my car. The location in Brooklyn was extremely understaffed and disorganized. Return was quick at least, but the staff member yelled at me like I was a criminal. I’ve never been treated so badly as a customer. And then the bill was $100 more than the estimate for no apparent reason. I spent $250 and 90 minutes in line just to drive 60 miles. I will not rent from Avis ever again.

Arrived at 4:17pm for my 4:15pm pickup. Line had about 10-12 people in front of me. One person working. At 4:43 there were still 6 people ahead of me. I canceled my reservation and borrowed a friend’s car instead. 30min later and I still wasn’t able to get my rental is unacceptable. It would have taken nearly an hour had I continued to wait.

The drop off at Midway was very confusing. Directions were very unclear. And there were no luggage trolleys available which made unloading the car extremely difficult.
