7.9 Good
Pros: The design of the room and arrangement. The fact that the guest relations staff reached out on her own to find out if I have any worries.
Cons: The fridge was noisy at times. The gym was small and would not take many people at a time if so many occupants are interested in using the gym at peak times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and courteous staff. I really enjoyed the quality of food and service at the restaurant. The shuttle bus very practical, chauffeur very friendly. Everything was nice in this hotel. Location perfect.
Cons: Nothing
5.4 Okay
Pros: Decent room, good breakfast spread
Cons: Too expensive for the rate charged. Decent hotel but heavily overpriced. made a ripoff as their rate is higher than direct rate available at the hotel
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was located in a great position for work which was why we chose it. The staff were all friendly and the hotel was clean....
Cons: I travel a lot for work and see many different types of hotels. Generally it was all OK - the only criticism was perhaps the showers could do with some attention. The Breakfast wasn't westernised for my taste - perhaps some eggs, sausage and bacon!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: For the amount charged, food / breakfast is very poor. Few choices, bland.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: The hotel should endeavor to provide bathroom slipper and robe as well(Lack of bathroom robe and slippers)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel sends everything electronically and has a good portal to coordinate requests. The ability to check the folio in real time is awesome. The bar staff, especially Herman was truly outstanding. He made excellent recommendations and was a fabulous host. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The breakfast buffet was well organised. The fitness area was re-done and it now quite worth a visit.
Cons: The WiFi signal strength was weak inside the room. Taxi services offered by the hotel were very poorly organised: No transparent prices, we had to negotiate prices which is not appropriate for a high-end hotel. The porter forced himself upon us even though we did not want him to carry our bags. No means no. We asked for late check-out at 13:00 and it was agreed, but staff called and disturbed us anyway by phone to remind us again shortly after 12:00. Room for two only has included breakfast for one — that's unusual on the platform. (The hotel properly mentions it in the booking, so we expected this — but we don't think it makes sense)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The very friendly staff
Cons: Nil
7.1 Good
Pros: Overall it was clean and the staff at the reception desk was polite and nice and reactive.
Cons: Our room needed more fresh air and the installation is getting old so it need more maintenance. Also, the guards did not tell us that we should park inside the hotel because the paring outside was not free during the day. The reception desk should give this information for the visitors with cars.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Food was great!
Cons: The gym could have had more heavier weights
9.2 Excellent
Pros: His the best hotel in al Cameroun
6.3 Good
Pros: Location of the hotel Size of the room Comfort of the room.
Cons: The room was booked for 2 adults. In the website, it read “breakfast included”. Unfortunately the hotel was adamant the breakfast was for 1 adult only although the room was booked for 2 adults. Had to pay for an additional breakfast. This is misleading for the customer! They need to be more specific online about the fact that “breakfast included” is only for one guest, irrespective of the number of guests the booking is for.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel located in a good area. Close to airport and the flower market.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Great food and friendly staff
Cons: Roaches in my bedroom and the AC in the fitness room was not working and they were not willing to fix it.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Every thing was perfect
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff Clean Confort Proximity
Cons: Too expensive
7.1 Good
Pros: Close to airport
Cons: Place very clean
6.7 Good
Pros: Starland hotel is at a good location in Douala. Close to airport, just next to the flower market, craft market. The hotel is good and the staff was helpful in all way. We had late check-in without any problem. The breakfast is good full fill all our needs.
Cons: Sometimes I found the elevator smelly and dusty. They gave us two same room keys but it appeared two days later that 1 was only for the electricity so for two days we`ve always been back and fore to the reception to reactivate our key cause we did not know that and mixed them up.
4.2 Okay
Cons: SABENA - such a bad experience never again WIFI kept kicking you off so needed to reinitialises constantly. We took a driver, Euro 200 for a trip north to see waterfalls at Ekom.Nkam - we never saw them. The car broke down, we waited 2hrs for a repair, then it broke down a 2nd time in late afternoon. When we called the hotel they said nothing they could do and told us to take a hotel in north as not safe to travel late at night. Great. No apologies, no refund. This is not 5 star hotel service or care. The breakfast is expensive- we had.a nice lunch for 3 people plus alcohol for less than the cost of 1 person at breakfast.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Staffs were one of the best
Cons: They ought to modernise the toiletries, lotion, shampoo etc
4.2 Okay
Pros: The hotel is in a rather rough area of Douala — you couldn’t even walk by yourself during the day without being harassed. The hotel security staff are great, they always offer to escort you around and will offer to run errands. They’re the best part of the hotel.
Cons: Location, bed is way too hard, carpet stinks ...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good facilities
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Cons: There should be a normal safe or locker in all rooms
7.9 Good
Pros: The refurbished rooms are good. On the street side, it is still very loud, as the Windows are thin and not really closing. The Pool is very nice when the days are very hot. The personal is very friendly and do their best to help.
Cons: The breakfast is good but for 12.000CFA (>18 Euro), it can be at least good! It is why we actually had our breakfast only once in the hotel. They are plenty of Restaurants and bakers around the Hotel who are proposing some very good breakfasts for lot of less Money. Drinks are also very expensive in the Hotel (4.500CFA for a local 0,5l Bier and around 10.000 for a Cocktail). Just walk 50m on the street to pay around 40% cheaper.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff is very good are polite, helpful and respectful. The rooms are very tidy and clean.
Cons: Very noisy. The hotel is not sound proof, and they play music late into the night, this is very uncomfortable. It is not good if one wants to relax, day or night. I'm sure that the hotel can afford to provide breakfast to guest, with regard to the room charges.
6.7 Good
Cons: Receptionists...Several problems during the check out. Nobody informed the driver and Airport Shuttle leaves without waiting for me!! Nobody proposed a private car for reaching the airport...when I asked for a car, receptionists said that shuttle was coming...after 20 minutes "shuttle are coming"...NO SEROUS STAFF!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yes they don't have coffee cachines in their rooms, so if you have to take tea or coffee you need to go to the bar to buy, besides that all is perfect.
Cons: Yes they don't have coffee cachines in their rooms, so if you have to take tea or coffee you need to go to the bar to buy, besides that all is perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality
Cons: No tea kettle in the room. Lot of disturbance due to construction work.
6.3 Good
Cons: The renovated rooms are not good value for money. Too expensive for the quality offered

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Careless staff at the restaurant IBIS , despite being an international chain, here in Douala can't prepare almost all the items listed in the restaurant , the items you order may take 45 minutes to come in normal conditions
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing like some thing to feel good
Cons: There is no napkin in Room. No tea maker in room. Drinking Water keeping in room is too small. Not providing small tawal to vlean hand. Room service not allowed. rooms are too small and no vantilatiin.
7.9 Good
Pros: Overall, the stay here was comfortable for my wife, who is Cameroonian, myself, an American, and our son, a 16-month year old boy. We stayed at the Douala design hotel before this property and we preferred that property to this one for all but one important category: the airport shuttle. The shuttle to/from the airport was extremely convenient and perfect for travelers not wanting to fuss with arranging transportation and haggling (or alternatively getting over-charged).
Cons: The staff was friendly on the whole, but there were times when they were a bit inattentive, like in the dining area. Also, the pillows were a bit oversized for those who sleep on their bellies. It made for a restless night for both my wife and I. The rooms were clean, but were small and felt a bit dated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cosy and fresh atmosphere . Shuttle service. The chef.
Cons: The chlorine level in the pool was very high!!!! Had eyes burning till next day.
7.5 Good
Pros: Enjoy the good international class breakfast
Cons: Room was too tight
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was exciting coming back to Ibis after 14 years, this time with my wife and our 2 boys (9 and 12 years old). We've got 2 nice, clean and connected double rooms with very comfortable beds. Good Wi-Fi, good breakfast, great shuttle service and friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast included only for one guest per room. Payment with credit card was not possible during checkout. Fortunately there was an ATM at the hotel for cash withdrawal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My stay in ibis was really great and the staff are working well
Cons: The hotel is clean and nice and the staff are also working well and respect
7.5 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed.
4.2 Okay
Pros: There was only location which was close to airport
Cons: Behaviour of staff. Wifi was not working. Room AC was not working and even after several phone calls at reception there was no response from reception staff. Horriable experience with IBIS douala. IBIS manaagment should look into this matter because they are spoiling the name of IBIS.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The staff are quite helpful and friendly.
Cons: The services didn't match the money. Over priced for size of room.
Hôtel SAWA - Douala - Building

5.0 Okay
Pros: Garden clin
Cons: Cleaness in room...
6.3 Good
Pros: Perfectly acceptable by Central African standards for a business trip to Douala. Working AC and hot water throughout my stay, and the room was kept reasonably clean. Staff was generally helpful. Location is good.
Cons: Everything was a bit musty; there was a perpetual puddle in the middle of the carpet in my room from a leaky (but, importantly, working) AC unit. Breakfast was rather dismal. WiFi was useless, but that's par for the course in this corner of the world (stick to tethering).
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location, heritage look of the property, open spaces & grrenery
Cons: Carpet in corridor and rooms are never cleaned and gives bad smell, airport pick up was confirmed but no one came to pick me, room service is pathetic. Basically its a government owned & operated hotel and not managed well, hotel is running short of staff and moreover they are not responsive.
7.1 Good
Pros: The setup at the lobby
Cons: Bathrooms
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything else
Cons: Toilets should have health faucets as every one will not be comfortable with tissue paper after using the toilet.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location for airport access.
5.0 Okay
Pros: There is very little to say. I liked the swimming pool. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. There was an ironing set. The room was quite. I appreciated the person who helped me with the luggage when I arrived
Cons: The WiFi is poorly working nearly everywhere in the hotel Water was leaking from the ceiling in the toilet and showering while in the toilet. This was not recent as there was stains on the floor. The swimming pool area is not appealing to stay, there are no cosy comfortable space, nobody attend you for giving a mattress for the chairs and nobody comes to ask if you need anything. It is the same for the restaurant/bar outside, no nice place to have a drink despite that there is a nice garden all around. Inside the hotel, the reception area has only 5 seats, in a corner, and not appealing either. For such a large hotel I would have expected to find a comfortable area. The personnel does not see you, or great you - I think they did not see me. For the surrounding area of the hotel, there is nothing to go to, no bars, no restaurants, no walking area and no shops. Fortunately you are not far away from nice places - 10 to 15 Minutes drive. Will never come back.

Pros: The breakfast, the gym, staff were welcoming, good location etc
Cons: had one staff a lady who was not good at the reception.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was all good
7.9 Good
Pros: This hotel is what we call "The home away from home". I like the place and this is the reason why I bome back everytime I visit Douala. The Hotel is clean and the receptionist is always available to provide help for any issue you are facing. Breakfast is tasty and you will get what you paiy for
Cons: car parking (underground); only 5 car can park nearby the pool. When you are a bit late, you need to use the underground parkink and sometime it's a mess

Pros: Great hotel. Food could be better
Cons: Dinner - limited variety
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: A bit tired
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and price. I enjoyed the breakfast.

7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel staff were helpful in arranging taxis and a free airport shuttle service, the location was good
Cons: The room was a little basic; it would have been nicer to have had some decoration. The pool was very dirty, which was disappointing.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Bed was ok. Nice and firm.
Cons: Not clean. Bathrooms etc the grout between tiles. A lot of chipped tiles. Bathroom at the bottom by bar smells terrible. Food was not good. Rooms smell very damp.

6.3 Good
Pros: Food and swimming pool
Cons: Ratio quality /price. Overpriced
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceedingly helpful. The room was clean.
Cons: Often, the wifi was quite slow.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is good, clean enough, warm welcome, they care about the clients, price/quality is good.
Cons: restaurant smells like the kitchen, better aspiration is needed in the kitchen side.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstanding. Really well prepared and helpful, they made all the difference. The cleanliness also was a big thumbs up. Bed was comfortable, Aircon worked well and was silent, TV had a good selection of english-spoken channels. I also enjoyed the restaurant and the bar. Breakfast was OK and hotel installations were fine.
Cons: It's unfair if I say I didn't enjoy the location, because I would say that pretty much all hotels in Douala would have the same "issue". Even though, there was a nice supermarket very close to the hotel, where I went a couple of times to get some food and beverages to keep in my room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every other thing; food and parking excluded.
Cons: I ordered Pizza, chips and chrimps. The food was horrible.
