Pros: Beautiful room, very spacious. Host could not be any more obliging. Perfect location. Definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are young & don't have huge amounts of money, so at first Air B&B seemed like the better option. But the location kept us looking at it. However, having stayed there and opted for the dinner, this is a place which goes above & beyond. Very laid back with an emphasis on enjoying the most simple and profoundly important act of being in France & in particular being in Champagne. Gracious & accommodating hosts who helped us find all that we needed (including a nice r
Cons: This is an amazing place. If you don't like it, it's likely you should have stuck to Paris / some awful, gilded, Disney world of a hotel.

Pros: Great location near centre and Avenue de Champagne. Perfect hotel. Great host.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really did like everything. Our rooms were perfect to make our trip exactly what I wanted for my wife’s birthday. The owners have very good humour and made us feel comfortable and at home while giving us great recommendations of where to eat in the evening. Breakfast set us up for a hard day of champagne hunting and the furnishings were comfortable with a real quirky style. Nothing was to much trouble and I would definitely recommend this property.
Cons: Nothing at all.....it was very nearly perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay here!! I wish we could have stayed here longer. Room was very large and comfortable, and our dinner and breakfast meals were exceptional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laure is an amazing host! We felt so at home. The room was very spacious and lovely bed and clean towels and robes. Everything provided! Located next to Moët and Chandon you can walk everywhere! She makes a wonderful breakfast homemade with cakes and jam and honey served in a private garden. Small touches made a big difference like her home baked biscuits which she gifts to you. I recommend her to everyone now! I would like to return just to stay here again! Xxx thankyou laure for looking after us!
Cons: Nothing not to like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent host, fab space, lovely location and great room. Very chic, great breakfast plenty of choice a great place to enjoy épernay. We really enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodations were so comfortable and charming. Laure, the owner, is so welcoming and does a wonderful job with this B and B. The details she puts care into are amazing (from the information in the room, to robes and slippers, to the homemade welcome snack (with champagne!) and jams at breakfast - perfect!!!
Cons: There is nothing negative to review.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable beds, beautiful views, quiet rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly owner who was very accommodating. A+++
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and owners very helpful .
Cons: No air conditioning. Can be hot
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated adjacent to a vineyard, giving excellent access for walking the dogs. Chantal, the host, treats you like family. A true find
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked our quirky room under the eaves with its view directly on to a vineyard. It was beautifully quiet. We could park on the property knowing it was secure. Chantal was welcome and provided an excellent breakfast inclusive in the rate.
Cons: Walking into Epernay to eat was not as close as expected, especially in the rain. We chose to drive both nights. That restricted our champagne drinking a little! Our room was delightfully quirky but very small, accessed up a very steep staircase needing several trips with our bags. The bathroom toiletries were available in the cupboard under the sink, with hairdryer and other toiletries stored outside on the shared landing. Luckily I had brought our own hand soap. Some hooks to hang dressing gowns, towels etc would have been welcome. Arrangements for storing clothes and bags were rather ad hoc so our room felt just a little cluttered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great overnight stop on Epernay, rooms very nice and clean, breakfast very good, lots of choice and Chantal was a lovely host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely and slightly quirky place on the outskirts of the town. Our hostess, Chantal was brilliant. She suggested an excellent Champagne vineyard tour and an excellent restaurant only 15 minutes away and her advice was spot on on both destinations. The room from the view over the vineyards was beautiful and the room itself was clean, tidy and well-appointed. Highly recommended!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast very fresh bread, croissants, yogurt and coffee. Chantal is very helpful with local knowledge and suggestions for where to eat. The view across the vines and the terrace at the back are worth the 20 minute walk to the centre.
Cons: We were 3 friends and booked the room for 3 at the top of the house which was fine but a bit ‘cozy’! Would be perfect for a couple with a child.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed , delicious breakfast and superb croissants and great cheeses
Cons: Everything was good

Pros: Very nice hotel in a quiet part of this quiet town. Nice pool and comfortable room.
Cons: Breakfast is massively overpriced . 16 Euros for a continental selection is just too much.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is fantastically placed for the centre of Ay and the champagne houses. The beds were comfy and the pool was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always a warm welcome, clean rooms and comfy beds. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, close to beautiful vinyards and the champagne houses at Ay. The hotel was convenient, has a private parking, beautiful antique details and helpful host. We enjoyed our stay!
Cons: The breakfast could have been improved for the price - quite limited, no warm foods.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were warm and welcoming, and very attentive and helpful during our stay. The hotel is wonderfully located in the middle of the Champagne region and the town of Ay, and is full of charm. We had a family room, with adjoining room, and it was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was quiet, I think all the Champagne tours take place Monday to Thursday and we stayed on a Saturday. Breakfast was good and varied. Room was brilliant for a family of 4 (Family Suite) with a separate room with 2 singles beds and TV for the kids. Pool was an added bonus after a long hot drive from Switzerland.
7.9 Good
Pros: We paid for Breakfast if that is considered an extra service for “bed and breakfast”! It was a lovely old building with a lift, A/C and a nice bathroom. Our group enjoyed the offering at breakfast.
Cons: We wish we had been told that the only place in the town open for food on a Sunday would not accept us without a reservation....we then had to retrieve the car and drive from village to village to Epernay to find anywhere open with one of our party who was quite frail.
La Villa Eugène - Épernay - Building

8.8 Excellent (360 reviews)
C$ 344+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Villa Eugène in Epernay, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Moet et Chandon and Mercier. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, a computer station, and express check-in. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
5.8 Okay
Pros: All staff we encountered were excellent - they cannot be faulted. The property is very well maintained.
Cons: The room charges are overpriced for what they are (there are much better places to stay nearer the centre of Epernay) Breakfast was poor value for money (very overpriced - $25 for a basic buffet where they don't even trust you with the Nespresso machine! The charge for parking was unexpected and again, poor value. The bar service of an evening is virtually non-existent (and again, incredibly expensive - think $40 for two large drinks) This is much more of a five star B&B and definitely not a five star hotel. The hotel owners seem to be penny pinching at every opportunity. We LOVED Epernay and will definitely be back...but will also stay elsewhere (Bergere on Avenue de Champagne looked excellent)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very impressive chateaux but not too pretentious. Staff friendly, rooms well priced, great gourmet dinner package.Only 25 mins from Epernay in stunning countryside.
Cons: All worked well
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable room - nice bathroom Booked standard room and was surprised that we had a terrace.
Cons: There is nothing really to dislike but just a criticism! It really was a lovely surprise to have a terrace, which was large with only two small chairs & a table but it needs to be made more welcoming - maybe with the addition of sun loungers or shrubs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool and nice staff
Cons: It was quite overpriced, considering that parking and breakfast weren’t included.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast was limited and not good value for money.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The friendliness of staff. The quirkiness of the building and the pool.
Cons: I was disappointed that the parking was charged. This wasn’t explicit at booking.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice little hotel, quite pricey but at the same time worth it I think. Bit of a walk to the town centre but not that bad really. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Cons: A better breakfast selection would be good.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location - clean property
Cons: We paid 343euros per night via booking.com for a premier room with no breakfast and no parking which I felt was pretty expensive but not much else was available in the area. I discovered when I arrived that if you book direct via the hotel website the price per night is 45euros cheaper and includes parking and breakfast. When I complained the hotel gave me free parking but were unable to do anything about the price I paid. I often use booking.com and thought I was getting a good deal on price - I will be more careful to check the website price in future. I feel ripped off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quietness
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location was close to town centre.
Cons: I booked a 'pay at the property' rate like I usually do. However upon booking, the hotel charged the full amount to my credit card. And then prior to checkin they charged the full amount plus EUR 100 again, and then they took the payment at the end. So essentially my card was charged three times for a one night stay. On both occasions when I questioned it, the hotel just told me to speak to my bank. I am still fighting with my bank to get the payments reversed on my statement.

Cons: It was a bit pricy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pool & very welcoming & accommodating owners. Excellent breakfast. Good standard of accommodation. It was like home from home with very friendly and hospitable hosts who went out of their way to make our family feel welcome. Excellent knowledge of Champagne region. They even ordered a takeaway pizza & took me by car to pick it up! Ideal for families. Would recommend to anyone who wants an alternative to a standard hotel experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating as I arrived very late. A small hotel but very friendly giving a taste of France during my passing visit. Great breakfast in superb location eating outside. I wish I had longer to see the area and enjoy the pool. I would love to return and enjoy the hotel when I have more time!
Cons: Nothing!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a small family hotel in a village in Champagne With a very friendly and helpful host
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an absolutely charming place run by a nice family. Our room and bathroom were large, well-appointed and very comfortable. It's in a small town without a ton of shops/restaurants, but plenty of local Champagne makers. About a 10-minute drive into Epernay. The breakfast was simple but very, very good. Make sure you do a tasting with the husband, Adrien, who is a winemaker. The pool & patio are lovely -- I'm sure that pool feels really good when its mid-Summer hot!
Cons: wish we could have stayed longer

Pros: Delightful old house, shame the interior was not in keeping
Cons: That the owners have used ultra modern sculptures, gaudy colour schemes that don’t work. It’s list it’s charm.
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff Comfy bed
Cons: Hand held shower, over bath - no curtain. Unless you are young (agile) and small this is not a good option at all. My husband is tall, broad and in his 70’s - surely all bathrooms should have a shower enclosure or at least a curtain?
6.7 Good
Pros: Cozy and nice, walking distance to the center and next to Champagne Avenue.
Cons: The hotel is very nice but overpriced. Staff was a bit unfriendly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quite expensive but well presented with some interesting local produce. The scrambled eggs with bacon were excellent.
Cons: Nothing. The place has a lot of character which I would not want to change.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very elegant and well maintained property. Staff were very nice. Good recommendations for dinner.
Cons: Early check-in required before 7:30pm - not great if you are travelling.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Owners were excellent hosts and really looked after us. We had pre-booked a visit to Moet & Chandon so wanted to be within easy walking distance and this B&B was in a perfect location. Everything in town was in easy reach (no more than 10-15 mins). B&B is in a little oasis if calm and is a very beautiful typically french manoir. No lift though if you need one. Parking is in its own grounds with secure gates. All very safe and secure. Epernay itself is a great little town with a great vibe and very pretty. Really a lovely place to visit. Walking around all very safe with nice restaurants and beautiful architecture. We couldn’t fault the B&B. Breakfast also great. They also have a piano which my wife played and our hosts were really appreciative. Would definitely recommend this hotel/B&B.
Cons: Nothing to call out here. All very pleasant and we will definitely want to come back so see more of the area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The house was lovely, the staff were excellent and the breakfast was superb. If it were anywhere else other than close to the avenue de champagne, this would be considered expensive.
Cons: No tea or coffee facilities in room, no shower curtain in bath.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and that the hotel has been kept original.
Cons: Not being shown to our rooms, we did not understand where our rooms were as we were told in french and were just given keys. The keys did not state on them which rooms they were for, we had to go downstairs again and sign language to get the lady to come upstairs to show us.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location and the Nice building We could park the car on the property
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to town. Nice garden. Nice for dog.

Pros: The owner was very nice. We don't speak French but we had no problem to communicate. The rooms were clean :)
Cons: The room facing the street is a bit noisy due to traffic but we managed to get a good sleep.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Check in was easy and nice shower, but that was about it.
Cons: Next time I would spend a little more and book better accommodation. The place needs new bedding. You could also hear everything outside your room, so not sound proof as they say.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy walk into the city center to the sights. Clean rooms, friendly owner. Did not have a chance to try the bar. Old style French hotel.
Cons: Only the pillows, but that's a gripe I have in a lot of hotels.

Cons: The pillow is too soft

Pros: Pleasant owner who also served parisian breakfest. He didn't know English but it worked anyway to communicate.
Cons: Smell of smoke in room. Vanished after ventilating a few hours
7.9 Good
Pros: The owner, Stephan, was incredibly nice and funny. The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: The toilet was a bit far down the hall.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the place was very friendly. When we arrived, there was 42 C outside, the room is nice but has no cooling. The owner opened the neighbouring room for us (which was fortunately not taken) and let the air flow through and that helped us to make our one night stay enjoyable. Nice and cool guy.
Cons: No vegan options for breakfast. But the coffee was good to start the day and find some vegan food in the local shop :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Owner was very friendly and lovely. It was nice to have a car right by hotel.
Cons: There should be extra pillows in The room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great for the price, very clean, friendly staff and convenient car park.
Cons: Being fussy I’d have liked more than one pillow

Pros: Excellent breakfast but a little expensive
Cons: Shabby paintwork in room. Room also very dark as window small
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and parking
Cons: The standard is rubbish
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant little hotel at the edge of town, about fifteen minutes from the centre along what has to be one of the smartest streets in France, home to many of the finest champagne houses. Tea, coffee and a kettle supplied. Excellent shower and the room had a second door onto a patio area. Onsite parking.
Cons: Could do with some TLC and brighter paintwork. The door to the adjoining room could not be locked.
6.7 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Cons: The building and common areas are old fashioned. The rooms have been modernised but within the shell of an outmoded building no longer fit for purpose. The ceilings are low, lighting is poor, they left the artex on the walls and ceilings. The general ambience was depressing. Not good value for money when there are much better hotels on the market in this price range.

Pros: Great restaurant.
Cons: Rooms average. But still value for money.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect, very close to Avenue de Champagne and the main champaign houses. The restaurant downstairs was also a great "Michelin" experience.
Cons: The toilet didn't work well, so the paper didn't flush away....
5.8 Okay
Pros: The service and the Michelin restaurant were good as was the location.
Cons: Awful bed and no air conditioning in the middle of a heatwave. Breakfast mediocre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Right in the heart of Epernay, the perfect location from which to explore the Champagne houses, bars and restaurants of the city, and with it's own gourmet restaurant downstairs.
Cons: Lack of air conditioning the only downside to this hotel.
7.5 Good
Cons: Bedroom small and bed very small
4.2 Okay
Pros: The older guy that did our check in and ensured that we could stay in the lobby after closing of the hotel.
Cons: Worn out hotel... everything in the hotel is outdated. Rooms are very small. Heating in the bathroom can not be regulated as the heat streams through the pipes to other floors. Hairs in bed and in the shower.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location suited our needs and the staff could not have been more helpful. I was travelling with my family and elderly parents, they were very helpful with a number of small requests to make my parents comfortable. We ate at the Michelin started restaurant which was wonderful and again the staff were wonderful.
Cons: It is noisy in terms of location, rooms are a little outdated but clean and beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were a little hazardous for older guests, no slip mat in the bath/shower.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great as well as the breakfast.
Cons: We were there at a time of very high temperature, and there was no airconditioning in the rooms. I didn’t read the details enough to understand that the airconditioning was only available in some common areas or the hotel.

Pros: no breakfast, I liked the location and the look of the buildings and I liked the clean room.

7.1 Good
Pros: spacious room good bed etc but....... see below

5.8 Okay
Pros: Views were quite nice

Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke English. For the price was very impressed. Located near a walkway to Hautvillers and lovely green area along the river. Was great to go for a run away from traffic and the 4km walk to Hautvillers stunning.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location-it is in the city center close to everything (shops, restaurants, bars), the friendly smiling staff (really helpful), the breakfast was really good, the room was clean and tidy. I will definitely go again there.
Cons: no comments
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Perfectly adequate for a one night stop over, good location, clean, nice and efficient people.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Ok location in. Enter of Epernay. Friendly host and comfy bed
Cons: Decor of room severely lacking. Wallpaper peeling off the wall and curtains did not pull fully across the window.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Parking nearby.
Cons: Reception smelt of cigarettes. The breakfast area didn't look very inviting so we went out for breakfast. There were no other guests that we saw and although there was a bar, we didn't use it as it looked closed. The guy on reception would have made us a drink if we wanted.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Small bed, very small bathroom. Unknowingly we arrived to the town on the day of Tour de France and so there was no access to any car park near to the hotel. Despite my email only a couple of days before enquiring about parking no mention of problems or suggestions where to park temporarily were offered.
6.7 Good
Pros: Position its GREAT! Right in the center close to all the Maison.
Cons: Sewage smell at the hall at all times! Rooms too Small if you have luggages, no space at all! Receptionist almost useless...
4.2 Okay
Pros: The location is fine. The visual appearence of cleaning is fine. I dont normally give a negative review or even spend time in writing this long review, but this time I need to do so. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. The daytime reception gentleman was not friendly and professional, and responded in a very don't care, tough attitude during my checkin and checkout. During checkin at about 1pm, he did not check the system to see if room is available and straight telling me, quoted his original words " you cannot check in because checkin time is 3". I respect the checkin 3pm rule, but it turns the room is ready after I insist to ask him. This seems to me is the staff tries to make things difficult and giving me a hard time. During checkout we were having an issue in terms of pricing, in terms of my question to their policy, I quoted his words again" SIR, we dont have to explain anything blablabla". The lady who worked in nightshift was fine. The 13 euro breakfast also doesn't look good and below average, no hot food or standard bacon, sauages or scrambed eggs. In conclusion, I only need to stay Epernay for one night and understand this is a three stars standard, therefore my expectation is not high. However, based on what I experienced and overall conditions, I strongly advised other guests to choose wisely.

7.9 Good
Pros: Some friends and I stayed for the Tour de France recently. The hotel was on the track which was amazing, we watched from town which was a 2min walk. The hotel and the rooms were lovely and quite traditional, breakfast was great. Location of the hotel was fine. About 5-7min wall to the train station. Super easy.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We just stopped for one night and it was perfect. Very nice, clean, modern room. A bottle of water, coffee and tea available in the room. Perfect location. Nice smelling shower gel.
Cons: It is nothing real bad, just a remark. Unfortunatley it wasn’t possible to hang the shower head, although it would be more comfortable. Also the shower doors did not close properly, therefore water was flowing out of the shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Boutique hotel close to all amenities.

Cons: The hotel really need a renovation.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Tiny room, not fit for 2 people, the room was above kitchen so we had all the kitchen grease fumes over our room. in a 30 degree heat, no fan was provided. Watch out for room 101! Staff didn't want to help or even suggest to move to a different room, don't recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally based hotel with helpful friendly owners and a choice of restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Small hotel with personall service and excellent meal with high value for money.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Standard
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location!
Cons: The bathroom is a bit outdated.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is great in Epernay, everything you need is close. Bed was comfortable and better than last time. This time it was not too hot as there is no aircon or even a fan in the room. However, this hotel is good value for money but don’t expect 5 starts (or even 3).
Cons: We have been visiting 5 years now and every year the place is more run down and is it screaming for redecoration but I guess it’s part of the charm.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, near the prestigious rue du champagne and other objective(5-10 min walking). Do not miss the restaurant hotel...it splendid..very good food and champage..wuoau☺️☺️. Free parking for our moto next to hotel!! Very nice staff..thank you!!
7.5 Good
Pros: fab location in the heart of Epernay, across the park from the Moet et Chandon buildings, with a car park right outside. Charming from the outside modest rooms, some with a lovely view of the church and the square. Breakfast was good but as in all of France 8 or 9 Euro for a croissant, bread etc always seems a lot.
Cons: rooms are modest and variable a little run down. But great value for money
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Second stay. Location was town centre perfect. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Bedroom decor a little tired but the room was clean and the twin beds were very comfortable. The evening meal was tasty and well presented. Over all, Hotel de la Cloche offers good value at a very reasonable price.
Cons: Only the room decor.
