I booked the motel because I saw a review that a family went with their 3 dogs, that’s why I booked it. Showed up & they said they only take 2 dogs. The staff wouldn’t let us stay. I had 3 dogs, 1 being 3 weeks old & the others weigh combined 20 pounds. Wouldn’t let us stay, even after I showed them the reviews. I asked for help, none given. Spent an hour in the parking lot looking for another motel. Eventually went to the Motel 6 in North Springfield & they were flabbergasted about the way I was treated.
Pros:Cleanliness, kind staff, price
Cons:It was a very small roomand nothing fancy but I really don't mind that.
Pros:Decent, clean rooms, good TVs and channel selection, and courteous and attentive staff.
Cons:It didn't feel at all safe, although I was told by staff this was a strange night. I checked in and went to my room, and everything was fine. Then, around 10:30pm, it felt/sounded like something large and heavy had been thrown against the wall joining my room to the one next door. This occurred every 5-10 minutes until I finally called the office around midnight. The girl in the office said she would call the room and ask them to quiet down (not the best option, in my opinion...). Maybe 20 minutes went by before it happened again. Then 5 minutes later. Then it was quiet... and then at nearly 1:00am, there was a crash like an adult throwing himself against the adjoining wall full force. I went to the office and ended up moving to another room... at 1:15 in the morning. Finally got to sleep in the new room... only to be woken up at 4:00am by someone KNOCKIMG ON THE DOOR. I don't know anyone in Eugene, and yet someone was knocking on the door repeatedly and pleading to be allowed inside. At 4:00am. I called the office and informed them of the issue, and it quieted after a few minutes, but I got MAYBE 3 hours of sleep that night. To her credit, though, the manager on duty, Linda, said she would refund my stay when she heard of my difficulties. I'd booked through Expedia, though, who did refund the stay after confirming with Linda. But I won't soon forget that stay... and I won't be back to the Eugene South Motel 6.
Pros:Rooms were fine, staff nice.
Cons:They charge for Internet despite the giant sign blinking "wifi here". I suppose it's not dishonest but certainly disingenuous.
Cons:Didn't have our room cleaned and ready to be checked into until an hour after check in time. No shampoo. Not so great.
Pros:The hotel was nothing fancy, but the staff were very pleasant and helpful, I was very impressed by them. Having the Denny's right next door was great for a nice breakfast before hitting the road.
Cons:Our room had a vague musty sort of smell to it, but it was a decent place to stay for a night.
Pros:Amanda Waugh, the front desk agent, tried her best to accommodate us. She was very friendly as were the housekeeping staff we encountered. It was located next to a Denny's in which I received a discount off my food.
Cons:The room we were checked into previously had a pet in it and I am extremely allergic. I could not spend five minutes in there. There were bugs on the bedding as well. After finally getting a new room, this one didn't have the fridge and microwave that I'd paid for. The pool ended up being closed for maintenance. The shower was designed to make it impossible to NOT flood the floor. For all the inconvenience I experienced, I wasn't offered a discount. I will never stay there again.
