Pros: Staff were really great, location was good, beds were reasonably comfortable although it was two singles and as we'd just got engaged we wanted a double.
Cons: Wifi didn't work, beds were crammed in- and there were three, when we only needed the one double- room service selection was really poor, facilities were ok but the pool was absolutely freezing, shower leaked everywhere and the bathroom grouting had mould growing on it, room temperature control didn't work so on a hot day was pouring out hot air into the room...to say it was a four star hotel it has two star qualities. Be glad the staff are fantastic because the rest of it was really poor. Would definitely never go back.

Pros: Great location, right in the town centre. Close to the port area, and bars and restaurants. Also five minutes walk from the bus and train station. Staff were extremely helpfull and friendly.
Cons: The property could do with a bit of a spruce up but having said that any tiredness was compensated for by the cleanliness of the bedroom and communal areas. We were a bit disapointed by arrangements at breakfast. Officially it runs through to 10.00am but we found that if we got down to the resturant any later than 9.30am there was very little choice and the buffet wasn't replenished. What was on offer at breakfast was fine and we quickly learnt to set the alarm for half an hour earlier. Just something to consider.

Pros: The whole experience was brilliant, breakfast was awesome we were spoilt for choice. The room was clean and presentation was above board. The location is in the right spot from local shops, restaurant, the boats, old town the view outside of the hotel is second to none. My first time to Portugal I must say I had a brilliant time and I look forward to coming back again can not wait.

My husband and I were celebrating a special occasion and the staff made our stay memorable by decorating the room with rose petals, roses, heart shaped towels and giving us a complementary bottle of prosecco and chocolate cake. Cons: freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was great, until the oranges ran out! Beggars on the hotel entrance steps. but it is an important introduction that there are beggars at the entrances to most public buildings.

Pros: Location was very good central to Faro new and old town, and within a short distance to walk to bus and train stations. The roof top restaurant had a great view over the marina and although we did not experience the restaurant in the evening the breakfast was delicious and varied and catered for types of palettes. Staff were very helpful and courteous at all times.
Cons: we arrived at 11 o'clock am and understandably our room wasn't ready, we were told to come back at 2pm but it still was not ready and we had to wait until 3.30pm before we could get into our room. on the 3rd night our neighbours were very loud and woke my wife and i and it took 3 phone calls to the reception between 12.30pm and 2.30am before the noise stopped. I think we were just unlucky with regards to people who were in the room next to us, the staff were very apologetic and we given a late check out on our last day to catch up on our sleep.

Cons: Small room, saggy beds. The aircon wasn't working properly. In the lowest position (5) it was still blowing warm air into the room. According to the receptionist there were only two possibilities: 5 for cold and 25 for hot. He did give us another room. There is breakfast from around 04:00, fully DIY, so items are standing there for a long time and are dead cold.

Pros: The location, the hostel is in a calm street in the town centre and it's not very difficult to find parking or get to a medium sized supermarket.
Cons: There was the feeling at the hostel that there were cameras in the rooms and bathrooms. One roommate built a tent using two umbrellas and towels to avoid the discomfort. I have been here a few times before but not sure if I would repeat again as they need to be more careful in the management of the place, day and night as there might be a safety and privacy problem. You will get a mix of people of different social backgrounds when you book a room here, that can sometimes work well, other times not so well. One episode was when one guy turned the lights off on the terrace and people who were eating had to complain but nothing was said to him and things went on.

Cons: Minor things like the shampoo dispenser was missing a small part and the front kept coming off. When I stayed at the hotel the rooms were cleaned later in the day when I wanted to take a siesta.

Cons: My "suite" was tiny, I'd guess 12' wide by 14' long and that includes the tres petite bathroom. Breakfast was just so-so. For another 30 euro per night, I had a room that was more than twice the size with a large terrace in Lisbon and a much better breakfast. The small space was well designed so fine for a few nights but can't imagine a couple sharing that space or how much smaller their standard rooms might be.

Cons: Very old furniture and fittings. Very tiny, old TV impossible to watch. Cramped room. Lots of narrow stairs, no lift.

Pros: The room and the toilet were clean, and were serviced every day. Great central location near marina, shops, restaurants, bus station and train station. The room had an air conditioning unit, an emergency button in the room and in the toilet, a small fridge, a small TV set, and a small terrace. A PC and a printer are available to the guests, which is useful for printing out boarding passes. Free wireless internet. The host was very kind and helpful.
Cons: The street can be quite noisy at night, and there is not a good noise insulation in the room. There are no parking facilities nearby. Avico and Pcelica.

Pros: Old property with plenty of character. The woman working there is very friendly & helpful with excellent english. Close to the main areas but far enough from bars etc. to be quiet at night.
Cons: While clean, the mismatching bathroom fittings are way past their best being crazed/chipped. The electrics work but the haphazard wiring did not inspire confidence. There is Wifi but the signal was too weak to use in my room so I had to stand inthe corridor next to the hub.

Pros: The hotel proprietress was super friendly and helpful, and always on hand to help. everything was clean and the location was really good and close to everything in the old town. It was lovely to have a bath and shower in a separate room.
Cons: The room was not the same as the photo: it was very, very small and cramped, had no French windows/veranda, my partners feet hung over the end of the bed. The tv did not work. One morning we had no hot water at all for the shower/bath. There was a lot of noise all through the night from rowdy guests next door and outside, students, although maybe it was freshers week? The house was old and interesting but cramped and dark with low ceilings and narrow passageways due to extra rooms having been packed in. It seemed overly expensive for the size of the room, but we did book last minute.

Pros: The owner meaning the lady , was very nice, the place was very old but clean, except for the ustensiles.
Cons: What it’s seem to be her husband , sitting in front of the desk office, snoring , obviously this man is very sick, his legs are swollen, difficulty to breath, shouting at his wife, finally a real ogre, it’s not welcoming at all. We went out for hours and he was still there when we return. For us it’s unacceptable.

Pros: 10 min walking distance from bus station, old town and boat shuttle. Room was clean, air condition working well. The owner provided us with all dishes we needed. Walls are thinner as written by other guests, but we had luckily no issue with that.
