Pros: Interesting property in quiet surroundings. Great breakfast and good hosts
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, helpful and informative about local activities. Helpful also providing information on the next leg of our journey. Very comfortable bed and gorgeous view from room and communal lounge area with fantastic sunny deck. A little out of town but worth it for view and surrounds (not even 5 minutes). Stay here if you want a quiet and comfortable relaxing stay. We stayed after catching the Tranzalpine from Christchurch - well worth the stay. Also great recommendation of both Ali’s kitchen for late lunch and the Albion bar(kingsgate hotel).
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our experience at Oak Lodge left us feeling that we should have booked more homestays for our month long tour of New Zealand rather than the motels that we used elsewhere. This property had the wow factor as soon as we stepped in through the door. Alastair and Shirley were exceptionally welcoming hosts and had much to tell us about the local area. We had the fabulous balcony room with amazing views over the wonderful New Zealand countryside.Extra bonuses included a tour of the property which involved an opportunity to feed the small flock of sheep Alastair keeps on the property and goldfish in the garden pond. We even managed to fit in a couple of games of pool before bed. The very tasty breakfast was a welcome change from the self made breakfasts we had been used to in our other accommodation. The guest lounge was spacious, comfortable, and well laid out with usual kitchen facilities you would find in a motel. If you are stopping in Greymouth we would certainly recommend a stay here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ideal stop off on a long journey, plenty of space
Cons: Lack of water, that was just bad luck
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful home cooked breakfast with homemade jams and muffin to go. Welcoming hosts and spa with great views.

Cons: The room was very nosey with little privacy
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was awesome. Location was not where we expected as we were walking from the railway station and had trouble finding the place. Took us over an hour and a few wrong turns until we got there.
Cons: How far out of town it was. We thought it was closer when we booked.

Pros: Great location at the beach near to Greymouth. Basic unit, clean and tidy. Pet friendly which was a must. Easily heated with fan heaters provided. Stove did not work but otherwise everything was functional. Roomy and clean.
Cons: No issues.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: friendly, helpful hosts, spacious rooms, ideal for 2 couples.
Cons: fridge/freezer would have been useful as we were travelling with food and slikka pads that needed to be kept frozen.
6.3 Good
Pros: The beds where comfortable and the unit was clean.
Cons: The high speed wifi didn't work at all, Sky movie channel had a loud buzzing in the background so you couldn't watch it. There was a leak in the kitchen roof. And only a portable fan heater to heat the room.
6.7 Good
Pros: Convenient location easy to find
Cons: Heater didn’t work
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Friendly staff
Cons: Facilities were good although TV was not working. Kids loved the spa. Hosts were very friendly.
2.5 Mediocre

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Pet friendly, great location not too far from the centre and has beach access. Comfy lounge and beds
6.7 Good
Pros: Lady at reception was very friendly. Enjoyed the games room.
Cons: No sky as advertised in our room, and when I looked for it and found it very fuzzy rung reception to have a rude man come over spoke to us very rudely.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beach close by
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff/Manager was so lovely which makes all the difference. The only problem we had was the TV reception which is pretty bad in Greymouth sometimes anyway, If we hadn’t have arrived so late we may have been able to ask the staff for help but apart from the TV everything else was great. I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels at $1599 per nite and I’ve stayed at 3 star motels that shouldn’t have gotten 3 stars but this place deserves atleast 4.5 - 5 stars
Cons: The tv reception

Pros: The food in the restaurant ( evening meal)was wonderful. I appreciate my suitcase being locked up until my afternoon transport left. The staff were professional and friendly. Special thanks to Fran and Shannon.
Cons: The rooms are run down and badly in need of a revamp. The shower over the baths could be a “ falls risk” for older people
9.2 Excellent
Pros: NA
Cons: All good just a little tired, Shower had good pressure but was over the bath

Pros: The hotel is a little dated but is clean and very comfortable
7.9 Good
Pros: Cosy room, comfy bed. All I needed after a long day
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast and dinner was enjoyable. The room is very dated and needs updating as well as new beds woke with a sore back.
Cons: The room was very dated and bathroom very worn out. bed uncomfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Renovated room the restaurant meal was very good I had the slow cooked lamb
Cons: Although renovations are going on it was very noisy hallways and some parts of renovated still look very tired
4.6 Okay
Pros: The bed was not uncomfortable.
Cons: The room badly needs a make-over. Worn out furniture, peeling laminate on the work top, etc. Worst of all, the bathroom was extremely cold because neither window would shut into its frame, and one pane was already cracked. Showering was worse than being at camp in winter, and the draught carried into the bedroom. The toilet bowl was cracked under the seat. As a guest, I shouldn't have to report either fault. Basic housekeeping should have dealt with these faults, ages ago. Breakfast was average-poor. Tinned fruit? In New Zealand? No choice of egg apparent or offered. Poor coffee. When I mentioned the bathroom at reception, "I'll get it looked at tomorrow". We were staying one night.
10.0 Excellent
