5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff was helpful
Cons: Room had a strong musky smell, looked old. Unlike the photos posted
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Helpfull staff that arranged our transportation to our next hotel in Yangshuo. They also spoke verry good English and the room was verry nice looking and clean!
Cons: None
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful staff; The room is very clean and the cleaning lady is very helpful and communicative; Very tasty noddle soup in the breakfast.
Cons: A bit noisy in the early morning (after five am) as the hotel is right next to a busy road and junction.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Not much but maybe more breakfast options would be nice?
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, fast check in and check out. They also offered us good tips for local breakfast. The free shuttle service is excellent, very useful for first time travellers to Guilin.
Cons: Hotel is located along a busy street so was noisy early in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at reception were enthusiastic, efficient and very helpful. They helped us a lot with our onward travel to Yangshuo and finding our way around Guilin.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was extremely nice, we got an upgrade free of charge to a king size bedroom, very friendly staff and English-speaking
5.5 Okay
Pros: Big room. Friendly and helpful staff. Lift available. Check-in is good.
Cons: It’s a smoking room as there were ash trays about. There weren’t any non-smoking rooms? Just a slight residual cigarette smell in the room. Breakfast is average and noted most hotels have similar breakfasts bar one that is slightly better. No coffee or tea but there is a kettle!
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel helped us to get tours what we wanted. City center and tourist attractions can be reached by 30 min walk or by taxi which costs less than 2 euro.
Cons: The room was clean but the floor carpet was very scuffy, so the hotel provided slippers for guests.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel staff are very helpful and picked us up from bus station. It was however a very bad decision to take bus from the much-safer nearby Yangshuo as station is not safe and my girlfriend had her mobile phone stolen while we were taking down the luggage from bus. So we didn’t get to enjoy much of our three day stay there due to this very bad experience. However on the positive side, hotel staff were extremely helpful and drove us to police station (which were useless and no help at all...).
Cons: Nothing bad to say about hotel, apart from the city it is located in not being safe at all. Always have to be on the lookout as standard of living in Guilin is very low and there is a lot of theft. My girlfriend had her phone stolen immediately when we arrived at the bus station and it ruined our stay there.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very high value money considering the quality of the Hotel and the price of the room. Location in the center of Guiling, nearby the scenic park of the two Pagodas. Room very spacious.
Cons: No coffee available in the room, only tea.
7.9 Good
Pros: breakfast hour is good
Cons: everything seems fine,
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good value for the price we pay to stay in the hotel with good breakfast. 2 Nights (28 Feb & 1 Mar), probably is the low season period. Room is large and clean. Heater is doing great. Staffs are helpful.
Cons: Coffee and tea is tasteless, 1 teabag for a pot of water. We stayed on the 3rd floor, although facing the back lane, could be heard when people talk at the ground level, so are cars passing by. Suggest requesting for higher level when staying. Total 8 level, ground level is reception and 2nd level is breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location good In walking distance to twin pagoda and pedestrian street Hotel Clean and they can manage for my family - 1 room with double bed and 1 room with twin bed Our room just side by side (Excellent)
Cons: It seem that every room is a smoking room Fortunately that smell not horrible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful touring guide
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was great and spacious. It was a family room so it had a tent and toy for kids, which is a very nice addition. The toilet had flower petals floating in it. Toilet has a sos call out and connection to reach out to the front desk which is great in case of emergency.
Cons: Having forks and knives at the breakfast area. We carried our forks so it was not an issue for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is good with this Hotel As my review previously

9.6 Excellent
Pros: When entering the Zen Teahouse Hotel we instantly felt welcome and at home. The staff is super nice, caring and speaks English. Our room was very lovely and we were provided with tea and water everyday in the room. We also booked 2 tours organized by the hotel and were really satisfied. The tour guide Chris speaks English, is very helpful and happy to answer all your questions. The tours itself were also nice, we saw a lot of Guilin and it’s surroundings in a short time. I would recommend the Zen Teahouse to everybody who appreciates detail-loving hotels and warm-hearted staff. Also you’ll find a few nice restaurants just around the corner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was just out of the city centre which was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Jing our taxi driver to the rice terraces and danxcu ancient town was very good even taking us for dinner and beer at his nearby shop. Zen Tea House is imbedded in a real chinese community. They also support a coffee shop nearby called Roley Poley which is easily the best coffee I have had in China, with a european feel to it. Breakfast was also very good and all the staff were extremely friendly. The staff always go the extra mile, even accommpanying us to a nearby restaurant and ordering food for us. This place is a little gem in Guilin
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff can speak English very well The room is clean and comfortable
Cons: The staff ask for money to give suggestions on the city (e.g. we asked for a restaurant and they offered us a paid restaurants tour)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: They made our breakfast as per our request. They even packed food for us when we got late for the breakfast. They accepted our special request to cook Indian rice, which we carried with us. The staff was more than helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing and super helpful. I was travelling with my daughter and she was a bit sick, Diana went with us to the pharmacy, to a very nice dumpling restaurant and gave us great tips about the best viewpoints in the city. We'll never forget this beautiful hotel and their staff. Totally recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this charming hotel in the center of Guilin and will stay here again. I was greeted at the desk with an offer of a cold beer or tea. Staff spoke excellent English and helped me plan things to do during my stay. My room was well appointed and the bathroom was modern with an amazing shower with strong water pressure. The breakfast was a tasty bowl of local-style noodles.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: English speaking super friendly... Helped in booking taxi and provided very good travel tips
Cons: Exterior of the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the service.
Cons: Room is very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was really well arranged, the welcome and help from the staff was excellent. They recommended places to visit, ordered us taxis and shared tea and conversation. A gem.ofca hotel that we enjoyed staying in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel deserves a 10. Above all for the team, attentive and reactive from first contact to our last minutes there, with a fluent english. The location is perfect as not directly in the city center but in a safe and quite area, near a beautiful park. ( in any case, 10 minutes walking from the center) The room was definitely OK, clean and with comfy bed and pillows Good wi-fi Highly recommended. Thank you my friends
Overview Reviews
Hotel is located besides beautiful Peach Blossom River, adjoins Xiangshan Park. It has buses to any place you want to go, such as famous scenic spots of Qixing Park, Fubo Hill Park, Diecai Hill Park, Nanxi Hill Park, Prince Jingjiang Residence, West Mt. Park and Yao Hill Park. It's only two bus stops to go to city center. We are the ideal hotel for tourism with tranquil environment in busy city.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location, close to attraction sights, quite friendly staff, though no English available
Cons: No English at all, if you don't speak Chinese, better find another place. They didn't receive any confirmation from Booking.com and we had to argue somewhat about the room. The room itself was quire big, but had liquid soap tube broken and even though we told them we were four people, every day they brought only two sets of towels, toiletries and slippers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great, the room was perfect and comfortable, very accessible through public transport and not far away from the city center.
4.2 Okay
Cons: wifi requires local smartphone number. Elevator access denied to floors other than your own, making visit to someone on different floor difficult. No information at check in about whether there was breakfast facility. There was, but we knew about it too late.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, good breakfast
Cons: No English speaking staff, translator app was in use :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, they change us towels and all the staff every day. They don't speaks much inglish but they are so kind. I will repeat if a could. It's closer form de center, like 10 minuts walking.

Cons: Taxi driver in front of hotel, they will cheat and bring you to join expensive local tour.
6.7 Good
Pros: Clean
Cons: Facilities
6.7 Good
Cons: Key cards given by front desk did not work on 3 separate occasions. We had to keep calling for someone to come up and unlock our door and it took forever. Then the manager said she would comp our breakfast and when we poked at our bill it was charged to us.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful palace!

Pros: Hotel is really gorgeous! Lobby looks like a palace. Reception lady could recognize me and address me politely!! First time in Guilin I have such pleasure!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Luxury and clean with polite staff
Cons: Breakfast
5.8 Okay
Pros: Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, food at main restaurants is quite nice, swimming pool is a bonus Tourist agency in the hall is helpful in providing tickets to the city main attractions Hotel generally is clean and looks good (not counting some kitschy corners)
Cons: Well, this is the worst hotel i've visited so far, if you are attracted to the hotel style and decoration, beware, it is the only positive thing about that place, Most of the staff (with some exceptions of course) is ignorant of how hotel should treat his customers and behaves with the epic arrogance, imposing untold rules, do's and do notes without minimum of respect Be ready to continually demand all and everything otherwise they will default to absolute minimum provide you with the worst option they have (Just one example: Paid mountain view - got parking view, demanded the room change but mountain wasn't even close to one on the photo of the room they sold) Probably due to hotel management and quite strangely for china, most of the staff have angry faces and demeanor Aircon in the rooms is so inefficient that it took days to make room acceptably cool and i'm not really exigent person Cheap plastic carpets stink a bit in too hot rooms until it cools Overall it is not an relaxing and pleasurable experience you would expect from your holidays
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast is aceeptable and ok. Normally eat outside for lunch & dinner.
Cons: More restaurant and bar bear by
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grandeur of the property
Cons: Need more english speaking staff at front desk

Pros: Location was great - right beside the lake. The hotel was very clean. The staff were amazing, they were so helpful and attentive. One of the team invited us on a lakeside walk at 7.30 - for free, she was terrific. All the staff were so friendly and nothin was too much trouble. Probably the best customer experience in China, thank you all.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all the staff was the most amazing part of what this beautiful hotel has to offer. This hotel has a complete staff that truly enjoy making their visitors comfortable and happy in the city and getting around. They booked all of our local trips and nightlife and food and made sure we were steered correctly into going the places we wanted to go. The food was excellent and the rooms were beautiful and cool and clean and mostly an amazing and unbelievable experience without being in a five star but having all five star amenities and five star staff.
Cons: If you can get away from the mosquitoes in China then you’ll be doing good but I don’t think you can get away from the mosquitoes even at a five-star Ritz Carlton. There are no mosquitoes in this hotel and the rooms sleep comfortably and have no bugs but once you’re out on the street watch out and make sure you ask the staff for their bug repellant Which the staff graciously provided for us.,

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great value for the money. We stayed in a family room, it was spacious, good bathroom, big beds, not so much space for our stuff. Good breakfast. Excellent position in the city center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed in the shared bedroom is huge, the street has many restaurant options, and the staff is very helpful.
Cons: It was all perfect
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great! Lots of food options, Chinese and foreign, right outside the hostel. Really close to the river and easy walk to a couple tourist spots or a nice evening stroll. The bed is really comfortable and the ability to wash clothes with a covered area to dry them was a major plus. Staff was also really nice
Cons: Even though it didn’t bother me, the concrete stairwell and hallways make the softest noise much louder and easier to hear in your room. You can also hear the muffled noises of the street and bar below when in your room especially at night. Not a major issue for me but something to point out. Not impressed with the restaurant and food served at the hostel. It was a decent price but the chicken curry I had didn’t have much flavor and just wasn’t that good. Slightly redeemed itself with the pancakes I had the next morning but breakfast is hard to mess up.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room clean, beautiful reception, good restaurant and the staff is helpful. Great value for an hotel close to the center of Guilin
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good hostel in the center of Guilin, not far away from the twin pagodes. Good intimacy b/w the beds of the dormitory room, each of the having curtains. And excellent english skills from the hostess, that explained to us what to visit in Guilin.

Cons: Maybe the fact they have to come get you at the gate everytime if you dont want to walk a bit... but it’s even fun to ride on the electric cars!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location in the Middle of a wonderful park.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was very nicely located in the middle of a park. It looks very good, the houses are very nice and fishes swim between the houses in pools.
Cons: The golf cart pickup didn‘t work out when we arrived. Nobody picked the phone. For departing it was there and that was when it rained heavily, so all good. Appearantly it‘s an expensive hotel in comparison to others. We didn‘t mind and liked it anyways.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location & environment: being inside the botanic garden was a big plus for us. Also the hotel itself was beautifully designed, the garden landscaping was amazing! Helpful staff. Nice outdoor pool! We enjoyed our stay, thank you!
Cons: Breakfast was functional and lack of quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel Manager was very helpful in taking us to Qintan bus station, and provided a translation service, to ensure that the tickets met our requirements. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were very comfortable, it was a shame that we were just passing through, but we couldn't extend our stay.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the grounds of the Hotel are absolutely beautiful. You feel like you are staying in a small private palace. The Hotel is in the middle of a very nice park, so it's very calm and quiet.
Cons: The restaurant was.. okay. It was good food, but it seemed a little underwhelming compared to how the place looked. (maybe some of the items were pre-made or frozen?) It wasn't bad though, and it wasn't too expensive.
6.3 Good
Pros: Room was nice
Cons: Staff not very helpful. If you don’t speak Chinese you maybe have a tough time
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice location within the Botanic Park with shuttle to take you to and from the entrance to the park.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Quiet location Big room Nice shower

7.1 Good
Pros: The park in which the hotel was based

7.1 Good
Pros: The large bedroom and adjoining bathroom
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was poor, selection very limited
Cons: Nearness to city and park with lake
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very interesting hotel in a great location - right next to the Banyan Lake. Nice to walk around the lake, specialty at night with all the light illuminations. The hotel is full of memorabilia and antiques. The suite 303 was excellent - large and with high ceiling. The breakfast was excellent mix of western and Chinese cuisine. The staff was very helpful, the reception has limited English, but the hotel manager Jacky has very good English and he was extremely helpful with recommendations for tours and restaurants. Highly recommended for tourist willing to explore something outside the box. We love it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location of the hotel is excellent on the lake
Cons: Language was the biggest issue at hotel
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautifully restored and perfectly located.
Cons: Needs a facelift, carpet was terribly stained and shower head broken.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and the colonial atmosphere were great
Cons: The staff did not speak english but one lady whose english was really poor and she made mistakes organizing our tour to the rice terraces because we paid to visit 2 places and for a full day trip and we got half day trip and visited one site only which was definitely not worth for what we paid. Very bad service.

Overview Reviews

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything except the breakfast.
Cons: The breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: property looks new, grand entrance, everything seemed quite fresh and shiny. staff speak little english but not a problem. Rooms were well equipped bed was very comfortable. little disappointed in the gym, several running machines and a single multifunction machine. location nice, opposite a lake, peaceful and quiet. close walking to downtown. my only concern was breakfast. The restaurant is badly laid out, designed too small for a large hotel and has these huge chairs ( completely oversized ) which make walking around the dining area almost impossible. Went for breakfast at 7;30 it was full. hardly any place to sit and was chaos. you cannot pass by another person without moving chairs to pass. the buffet was a bit sad, most people forming a queue to get eggs which was around 6 - 8 people and one egg chef. I abandoned that idea and went for coffee however they are only serving tea and coffee from a drip machine which was emptied in about 5 minutes. suddenly there was chaos in the buffet area with no tea and coffee and a long queue was disrupting the flow. the chef and multiple staff where just standing in the dining area looking around in shock and not knowing what to do. I complained that tea and coffee was not adequate for so many people and they stated to serve drinks at the table because walking around and going back and forth was like trying to find your way though a maze of chaotic people all confused and bothered by the fact that carrying a plate of food was almost impossible. I would say the breakfast was a disaster and they need to scrap the entire design and change the tables chairs and layout. also provide a fully self service tea and coffee and have more people serving fresh products like eggs.
Cons: dining room... a total nightmare
5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed comfortable
Cons: Toilet blocked, plug did not seal in the bath, mould around bath, food average, buffet cold.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, near the lake and old gate of Guilin
Cons: Swimming pool is not too big and overcrowded with families with children
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice service. Nice location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice service. Nice location.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed here several times now. It's convenient for the central Zhong Shan Road and there are a couple of markets within walking distance. There seems to have been a major revamp since my last visit, and although some may find the new decor a little "over the top", it's clean and fresh. The Western restaurant at breakfast has a reasonable choice of food, some Chinese, some Western, though I didn't take any other meals here. The walk along the lakeside opposite is beautiful and provides a route to the centre away from noisy roads. It's definitely worth checking for good price deals, for example via Ctrip. Be careful, I once accidentally booked a suite for USD 20,000 (got mixed up with the currency and number of zeros!), but luckily some intense pleading got me off the hook. Would definitely come here again.
Cons: Sometimes finding a taxi here can be a problem, though when the hotel called one for me, the charge was not unreasonable. Getting here from the airport directly requires a taxi, though this time I took a public bus to its nearest stop and walked the rest of the way (about 30 mins). In the height of summer, this might not be very pleasant, but in November it was fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large and good entrance - friendly and welcoming people
Cons: Location is a bit off site
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are clean and big enough. The hotel is a few minutes away from the lakes and the pagodas, so in a very good loaction. The staff was helpful and spoke enough english. The breakfast was good.
Cons: The carpeted floors are a bit old-fashioned.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Do not let "youth hostel" turn you away. This is one of the nicest rooms in a hostel I've stayed in after 11 months of traveling. The room is very modern with all of the amenities. Fast wifi, air conditioning, couch, tea table, comfortable bed, towels, soap, and shampoo. The room is amazing and the staff is helpful. There's not a big hangout area, but there is a restaurant/bar. We ate a big breakfast for 25RMB and the dinners were also about that price or a little more but we did not eat dinner there. We easily took a taxi there from where the bus dropped us off and the hostel is located very conveniently next to all the pedestrian streets.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was large and comfortable. The dumpling night was great fun.
Cons: The food was average.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hostel in a good location. Great directions given on how to get there by public transport. I wish all hotels and hostels did this! Nice bar area with great coffee
Cons: A bit noisy as there is a bar opposite and then a loud speaker started up very early!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff especially the new girl. Forgot her name but she's from Yangshuo and is new. Great character and enthusiastic about making us White Russian and G&T!
Cons: Hmm maybe the photo looked too good although room was close to the photo. The noise outside from the bars was an issue during first night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here twice (total of 3 nights). Good location; clean and spacious rooms (one of the nicest hostel rooms I've stayed in); toiletries available; helpful staff. Hair dryer was broken and they promptly sent a repairman to replace it. Would stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked just about everything! This is a great place. Fantastic staff! Great location! More like a private hotel than a hostel. Beautiful spacious room and bathroom. Everything Squeaky clean. Free washing machine available. Cooked American breakfast for aud5 each. A lovely, lovely place to stay. Definitely recommended! And they wouldn’t let us carry our cases as were were on the third floor with no lift and we are “grey nomads”! And they were among the few places to sell tonic water for our g n t!
Cons: no lift!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff extremely helpful with local information and booking us a deluxe boat trip on the River Li. Appreciated the free toiletries, toothbrush and shower hat.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place, really!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room for twins, clean and great location. Right Opposite has a good Chinese herb/medicine treatment, staff is professional.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super nice and helpful! We booked the tour from the hotel to the rice terrance and the arrangment is good. The private room for three persons are spacious and cozy.

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is complimentary (available on request).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely perfect location with wonderful views from the restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic with easy access to the main shopping streets, the pagodas and great views of the elephant rock from the top floor. The staff helped with arranging the transfer from the railway station. The room itself was comfortable and had nice touches like the monk tea, but it was a little tired.
Cons: It didn’t feel particularly good value with fairly limited facilities and the quality of the fittings. One suggestion I’d make is getting some proper maps to give out to guests, all they had were children’s maps with illustrations and it made finding our way round needlessly difficult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you choose to live here, you can definitely save money for the park ticket of Elephant Mountain since you could have a whole scenery of that from the canteen of the hotel on level 7. Fantastic experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a great view of the Elephant's nose rock and over the River Li. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast has many options, both Chinese and Western and is served on a high balcony with views. The Sun and Moon pagodas are nearby as are bustling shopping streets.
Cons: Be clear you want a front facing room. The rear view does not compare.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Couldn't have asked for a better location. The breakfast was great and the room was comfortable. Free soft drinks in the mini bar. :)
Cons: The gym was a bit small. Check-out was a bit chaotic, but they managed to get us a taxi to the airport.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really extensive and there was a balcony with a view of the river. The whole hotel seemed relatively well run. We didn't get to take advantage of the free shuttle because we got in after 10 pm.
Cons: I felt that the halls and lobby were a little creepy but the room was nice. It's called a boutique hotel but it felt like a hotel in the traditional austere sense.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a gem. The room was so beautiful and luxurious and had a spectacular view on Elephant trunk tower. I wish we had planned to stay more nights had I known. The breakfast on the rooftop was one of the best I had during my 1-month long stay in a Chinese hotel of this category. The view at night from the rooftop was amazing and special. The staff was also great and they found and kept safe our forgotten purse in the room until we returned to pick it up.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Have used Shangri la hotels in Singapore and Hong Kong before and this is up there with them - the front office service manager NaN NaN went out of his way to ensure our stay was comfortable - and oh by the way if you like big beds this is the lace to stay - they are enormous
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Housekeeping left room half finished. Staff at front desk and restaurant are cool and do not live up to standard of Shangri la nor hotels at this price. Nothing around Hotel. Far from city centre and river.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: If the buffet was Americanized a little more it could be excellent. The food is already there, it just needs to be served correctly. This applies to the dinner buffet and the breakfast buffet. It could be excellent. This would make a huge difference and I would love to stay again.
Cons: The morning breakfast was really poor. The sausages are really bad. The coffee can be better, pancakes and waffles need to be served better. There needs to be more delicious options. For such a nice hotel, there is no excuse for breakfast to be that poor.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff very welcoming and polite.
Cons: Hotel is nice but rooms need to be refreshed to be in line with Shangri-la standing. It is not a Five stars room level as expected.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice but slightly run-down hotel in central Guilin location, main roads and construction nearby and outdoor pool really only for getting your feet wet (or for small kids). Breakfast was very busy and a bit unorganised, but food was good. Also enjoyed the sauna and hot pool in the indoor pool and spa area. We arrived late at night and were checked-in efficiently
Cons: Outdoor pool is disappointment as is the current location with lots of building and roads around. Generally nice staff and nice room, but could do with an upgrade.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel
Cons: A little bit tired
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super friendly and helpful. Particularly I would give my big thanks again to Vera Wei again for her wonderful assistance in helping us out for the e-booking of day trip!
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice, clean and welcoming.
Cons: U Bar was disappointing and the Bar stuff tried to charge more. Very uncommon for Shangri-La Hotel stuff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for money. Experience started off great being picked up by the hotel at the trainstation. The car had WiFi, we got offered a cold towel, drink and a piece of fruit. Staff very courteous and helpful during our stay. On site gym had a very decent set of appliances (strength/cardio). The hotel has a nice outdoor area. If you travel with kids, they won't get bored here as it seems the hotel provides a ton of activities for children. Overall definitely happy with our stay at Shangri La.
Cons: Let me stress again that we definitely left as happy guests, but there were a few negatives during our stay. -room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. -noise from renovation works on the roof woke us up at 8am (we got advised noise was only to be expected from 10 am onwards) -outdoor pool had very limited opening hours (3pm-8pm) -some areas of the hotel could use a refurbishment, as things started to look a little tired.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very impressed with the selection. And the service was just fabulous.

Pros: The room and view
Cons: Concierge not helpful, limited english capacity of staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Staff. Room absolute first class.
Cons: Cannot fault the property. It was amazing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Plenty of eateries around. Breakfast was ok. Staff were mostly pleasant.
Cons: They ran out of cups and coffee at breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views over the pagodas from the room, great location for exploring guilin
Cons: The rooms were large and nice enough for the price but are quite dated, and thin walls meant we could hear the neighbours talking and coughing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Courtesy, Professionalism of staff , willing to go the extra mile to help customers
Cons: Long wait time for a meal in the Western restaurant in the evening. We were told it would take one hour to get the food so we chose to go to the Chinese restaurant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, placed centrally among the key tourist attractions with easy access to restaurants. Party atmosphere in the area in the evening. Luxury feel with a brilliant swimming pool and access to fridge. Having a tourism desk on site very good for arranging to visit attractions, such as the essential Li River cruise. Being able to change currency and have your postcards posted also really helpful.
Cons: Most hotels have facilities for hanging up your washing and this was not easy here. Filling the fridge with their products not helpful. Better advertising of the amazing Seven Stars park and cave would benefit other tourists. Tour desk did not fully explain the difficulties of some of the more distant tours, such as the rice terraces.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The lobby was huge and sterile but staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Beds in china are a bit too firm for me but the linens were very nice. This hotel is in a perfect location with the lake in front and he pedestrian mall behind. I would 100% stay here again if I returned to Giuliin.
Cons: TV list claimed two channels in English but there were none. I did not eat in the hotel. The restaurant I saw was huge and uninviting. I found great food off the pedestrian mall a couple of blocks from the hotel.
5.8 Okay
Pros: A huge hotel with bus loads of tour tourists. You have to wait for elevator all the time. Carpet are worn . Rooms are ok. The water falls show is a joke
Cons: Very crowded. Not very clean
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Invite domestic and foreign friends not to stay in this hotel, their lobby manager's service attitude is too bad, the property security of the hotel is not guaranteed, people who want to stay must pay attention to it. After checking in, I went to the hotel swimming pool to swim. The mobile phone was lost in their hotel safe. The Hotel didn't cooperate at all. There are too many thieves in this hotel. There are thieves in the hotel. So far, I haven't got a reasonable answer. The lobby manager 133 received a bad call and said it was not their responsibility to ask the public security.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The most pathetic hotel I ever stayed with any where in the world. They claimed it to be a 5 star hotel where as it as not even a 2 star hotel. The hotel staff was the most unfriendly and least professional. The overall experience was nightmarish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High standard of the hotel, availability of facilities such as swimming pool and spa, beauty of the surrounding area’s river promenades

Cons: The hotel is too old, smelled like mold all the time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the position of hotel
Cons: very poor western buffet for lunch and dinner
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is excellent, near the pedestrian street and most known hotspots
Cons: Facilities old, showertemperature not controllable, either hot or cold; bath dirty - it needed two reclamations that someone came to clean it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent. Breakfast just OK. Limited cereals and fruit, no cheese.
Cons: I didn't like getting triple-charged for my room. Hopefully that will be refunded soon!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and service were excellent
Cons: Very happy with our stay at this hotel
7.1 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: Stench of cigarette smoke thru out the room.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Smell, smokey, damp and tired hotel
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location. Helpful personel with acceptable English.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved in selection and quality of service (eg. you ask for a cup of coffee while the waiter is running on the other side of the room to avoid interaction etc). No taxis in the front of the hotel. We were on a rush to the airport counting each minute and concierge suggest cheaper „taxi” run by his friend which was not on the site. We finally ran out to the street with all lagguage to hail a taxi. The concierge was completly not interested in any help since we haven’t took his friend instead. Unclear situation at the check in: we were offered the room in the lower standard than booked. The recepcionist suggested that we were upgraded to the better floor. Afterwards he suggested that „the view mentioned in the offer was optional if available”. Finally room in the proper class was available but the check in lasted for nearly one hour (ie. From 2 to 3 am). Small thing: you need to have a room key to access any toilet in the lobby what is simple inconvinient
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is good. When we checked-in, I asked about upgrades available and we got 2 rooms with remodelled bathrooms. Comfortable spacious rooms. You get 4 free water bottles (500 ml) per day in the room. Very nice outdoor swimming pool. Steep deposit on credit card upon check-in ( both deposit + precharged breakfast ( even though i mentioned that i wasnt sure yet to have breakfast there). Be sure the deposit is cancelled right away upon check-out.
Cons: Breakfast buffet very pricy(140 yuan pp). In most “ western” hotels the buffet is around 110 yuan. When I asked if there was bottled cold water, I had to pay 20 yuan per bottle , which I refused. The buffet did have a good choice of food but not better than other hotels to justify the price.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel is too old and needs renovation. The bed is depressed this you can’t have good sleep.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Food for breakfast n dinner not up to expectations
