Pros: Very lovely guesthouse and lovely owners who just couldn't do enough for you. As we had booked 2 rooms, we had the whole top floor to ourselves with a large lounge which was fantastic to relax in after a long day travelling.

Pros: Fantastic place to stay , bit of a hill however the views make up for it. Brilliant breakfast and the hostess was lovely informative and helpful. Home from home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lesley is a really lovely, warm welcoming host who has a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and couldn't have been more helpful. We instantly felt at home and got settled in quickly. Our room was cosy and practical with lots of lovely touches making it such a great standard. Having our own entrance was part of the attraction having a dog, being a barn door really added to the highland vibe. The whole property is so well kept, you'd never know dogs can stay too. The breakfasts were great! So much choice, we were well fed! Sheildaig Farm has a perfect location, stunning views of Ben Lomond, some of the Loch and Balloch, but also good walking distance into Balloch. We can't wait to come back soon with Ghillie
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were great, the was great and Lesley was lovely.
Cons: The road was a bit lumpy but that's about the only negative thing I can think off!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious room which was well decorated. Fitted with fridge kettle. Tea and coffee biscuits fruit and a bottle of wine as we staying for two nights. Host Leslie was wonderful and made us a fantastic breakfast both mornings as well as telling us about the local activities. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are looking for a relaxing and photogenic break.
Cons: Only negative I can think of is the road up to the property. It is incredible bumpy. When we phoned a taxi on the first night we were told they might not be able to find a driver who would be willing to drive up that toad to get us. But a taxi arrived after 5 minutes and we had no issues getting taxi back that evening or any issues the second day.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Road was extremely difficult with pot holes and if we didn’t have a car with a decent engine it would have been hard but other than that it was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast and friendly owner
Cons: The road to the property is a bit poor. You’d struggle in a low profile car
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The most the perfect retreat for a peaceful New Year or any time of the year. Lesley the owner was helpful, polite and extremely knowledgeable of the area and surrounding towns. Room freshly moder seed, comfy bed and modern. Breakfast was fresh and warm. Dog friendly room also.
Cons: The road leading up to the place. Very poor for your car. Pot holes and uneven surface however this had not affected the break.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lesley was extremely accommodating from the time we arrived, ensuring we had everything we needed and even offering us some fresh fruit and milk for the room. The room was lovely and spacious and Lesley showed us one of the other slightly smaller rooms, which had recently been redecorated. While lovely, we opted for the room with the skylights and enjoyed the natural light in the morning and sound of the rain in the evening. At breakfast, Lesley checked in each day to ensure we were happy with our choices and cooked us a great meal. The breakfast room was lovely and cosy, overlooking the garden with lots of natural light. A lovely spot to sit with a cup of coffee, while Lesley was very kind in offering us advice for the local area. We loved our trip to Loch Katrine, where we visited on one of Lesley's tips. A fantastic stay -- thank you!

Pros: Chose this hotel from SearchEngine as we needed accommodation enabling us to attend a Burns Supper. I prefer hotels with character and this property certainly has that . Margaret is extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble for her. Bed was comfortable, rooms warm and welcoming. Breakfast very good. We will return.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Margaret was wonderful as were her cooked breakfasts
Cons: The towels were tiny. Too small to wrap around for sneaking to bathroom especially for a 6 foot bulky man
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. The view from the room to the Clyde is exceptional.
Cons: We were surprised that the room was not checked over after our first night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice building with great décor, very friendly staff / welcome. Clean in all areas and a freshly cooked ( not buffet) breakfast. This is a very high standard B&B, very well run. It does not have a bar. From my point of view, not a problem , a 10 - 15min walk down the hill to the town of Helensburgh, some nice bars and restaurants. Try Riva bar and restaurant. Again very friendly and really nice quality , fair priced food.
Cons: Nothing really, maybe a small bar service but as I said earlier, not a problem.

Cons: nothing

Pros: Lovely staff, delicious breakfast and beautiful room with a seriously powerful shower
Cons: Very weak WiFi. Videochat with my young daughter kept breaking up due to the weak signal
7.1 Good
Pros: Very nice lady checked us in. Common rooms were pretty and very Scottish in decor. Room had a couch that was a nice touch.
Cons: The bathroom was very small. That I can deal with. But the faucets were not attached to the sink well and kept turning around. The hot water was running and filling up the sink. Finally got the water to turn off. The shower head dripped all the time but it just flowed down the drain. It appeared that the sink had tried to be repaired.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance, friendly staff. Atmospheric and comfortable.
Cons: Everything excellent. Shower was fantastic, simple but delicious food and coffee. Eclectic but traditional decor, very tasteful. Magnificent house with beautiful proportions. The drive to the car park is short but very steep. Walking down this hill in snow was tricky.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The salmon was exquisite! The staff and proprietors Maureen and Tom were most welcoming which made me feel completely at home. They have done such a great job refurbishing this lovely Georgian property.
Cons: The sidewalk appeal wasn't as good as it could be. When I first arrived and surveyed the front of the hotel I was a little alarmed as it looked unloved. Even my taxi driver made a remark about the dilapidated garden.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent bed. Massive rooms. Quiet
Cons: Told off by night manager for asking for a plug for the bath

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel staff were very accommodating. I had to leave the hotel earlier than the set breakfast time each morning due to work requirements, and they managed to serve me earlier than normal to fit with my schedule. I appreciated this especially. The owners and staff were incredibly personable and interesting to chat with, clearly wanting to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. Free private Parking for the duration of the stay. The building was well presented, full of character and the room was large, comfortable and clean. Excellent variety of Scottish Beers, Ales and Whisky at the bar. I will make the Ashtree House Hotel a regular port of call when in Glasgow and the surrounding area.
Cons: There was no Laundry Service or Facility. However when I asked, the hotel staff did inform me of places where I could get laundry done, in the local area.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice to have juice and water in the fridge, but no milk sachets for tea
Cons: No milk sachets for tea
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was larger and nicer than expected for the price. The village of Houston is lovely and peaceful, there's an excellent pub down the street, and it's ten minutes to Glasgow Airport.
Cons: Shared bath (expected, and reflected in the price); when there's a band in the bar downstairs, you can hear them very well (but they're done before midnight). Would probably not stay again on a Friday or Saturday night.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great staff nice location
Cons: Really noisy band was on till 12am and then people didn’t leave the bar till gone 1:30 am and because the rooms are above the bar you couldn’t get any sleep .also think £120 for a family room with no breakfast and a shared bathroom is a bit pricey

Pros: Excellent friendly staff, would visit again
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly and helpful staff, fantastic atmosphere, warm inviting venue, great beers and landlady makes sure all customers are happy. Very clean, modern but with a homely feel.
Cons: Beds are double but really suit single person so advise booking 2 people into a room not 4.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff in the pub who took me to my room when I arrived. Good food in the pub but was unaware I could get 10% off til I got to my room afterwards and read the file.
Cons: There was no one around on Sunday when I left to let them know there was a problem with the sink tile. The heavy doors of neighbours were incredibly noisy as they banged shut.
