Pros: Luxury at an amazing low cost. The hotel is newly built so you don't have to worry about bugs and broken furniture. It is situated in District 1, one street down from the tourist street, short cab ride to Ben Thanh Market and Cathedral.
The entire staff was friendly, from getting out of our cab upon arrival to checking in, etc. We never went to the bank to exchange money, the hotel provided excellent exchange rates.
I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Pros: The hotel is situated in the centre of Ho Chi Mhin city within easy walking distance of all the major attractions to go and see. I.E Reunification Palace, Saigon's Notre Dam Cathedral, War Remnants Museum, Saigon Zoo & botanical Garden. Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful, the Mezz restaurant which serves breakfast is very well laid out and has a variety of stations and very good selection of food.

Towels were tiny and thin shower in bath with just a trickle of water and it still has an old fashioned shower curtain which immediately gives me the shudders. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, with original wooden flooring and furniture, and classy touches like headed notepaper. The hotel is peaceful and calm, with noise at a minimum. The staff were extremely accommodating, switching my booking to a room in the colonial wing (highly recommended) with no fuss at all. The spa was conveniently located, and offered all kinds of luxurious packages - a nice way to end a busy day of travelling or sight-seeing. The pool is a bit small, but a great place to relax after the heat of Saigon.

Unfortunately while we were there a stage had been set up for a weekend event - which while not an issue in itself - was a problem as they were practicing until 3:00am at loud and varying noise levels (literally 75dB according to phone app). This highlighted poor noise insulation through the windows of the hotel room.

Novotel should provide prices more reflective of local conditions rather than adding to their profit margin. Pros: The bed was comfortable and so was the internet access...my 2 most important factors. The size of the rooms were great and the staff generally were very friendly. The shower was good, although they could have updated the shower head so that it didn’t have to be hand held! A small accessory to hold a better shower head and I would be so happy. The team changed my room immediately when I was given a room fool of mould around the AC units. Room 502... The location was in walking distance to Ben Thanh market, and in fact I was able to walk it Walking street no problem...but I know the roads well.

Pros: Nice Receptionist Fast Check-in. Clean and very spacious rooms. F&B staff are amazing, from breakfast to Dinner, they are very helpful. Quite good breakfast nothing you could expect for a cheap room rate but still good. nonetheless, it was a very nice stay for me and my partner. Cooking utensils is available and if you need some help just contact the Restaurant located on the 8th floor cause they are very very helpful.

Pros: The staff were always very helpful. It's on a quieter street, across from a park which is a nice break from the bustle at night. I needed some copies made and they did it for me at the front desk, and there was no charge. That was a welcome perk. It was a simple hotel/studio apartment for a decent price. Having the Sofa and Tv Lounge with kitchenette/bar was nice. Extra space after being in small hotel rooms other nights. We are guessing it was apartments before and must have been pretty modern and hip 25 years ago or so! There's an alley nearby with an amazing American BBQ (go figure!) and we could get anything else we needed or wanted nearby at one of two Circle Ks.

Cons: Windows are not sound proof. Across the street there was a concert 2 consecutive nights, with the highest volume you can ever hear made us stay awake until midnight. Management changed our room after 1st night at the other side of the building which helped escape the nuisance. I can't believe police allows such disturbing sound after 00:00. I myself went to the concert place, shouted at the securities and they stopped the music after 1 more song. Hotel management should have done that instead of saying sorry!

Cons: They could improve on the towels & amenities. The towels looked old & not very clean. They only supplied amenities for 1 person, 1 use even when the room was booked for 2 people. They could increase the number of amenities being supplied in the rooms, so customers don’t need to request extra from the front desk.

Cons: The place is very dated...to rooms need to be modernised, the food at breakfast is questionable...the same every day...and to be honest I stuck to eating toast. The staff kept asking my room number every morning...which is not an issue...but it was the same person every morning, which I found rather annoying...after all I’m sure staff are meant to remember guests and their names...to add a bit of friendliness. I found that this is something all the staff could have improved. Know the name of guests. The place is opposite the park, which is lovely and if you’re lucky you can prairie the Tai Chi taking place there...but there is also a bloody great big concert stand, where they do not care what time they are blasting out the greatest Vietnamese Hits at the highest most distorted volume possible...making the windows vibrate to the point you think they will shatter...and therefore not to sit too close the windows...on the plus side...if you like the music, you can watch a free concert!

Cons: arrangement of the living room area. TV should not be facing the window, we can't watch unless we close the curtains but we want the view to the park which is very nice too. just make sure people get both worlds at once cause there is a park outside and it would be really nice if we can watch TV while being able to see the park too. Homestead PARKVIEW right? Home and Park view should make sense. Anyways thanks for a very very nice stay! we are coming back here! :)

Cons: It is a little difficult to flag a cab on this quieter street (this is a street where the taxi drivers go for a little snooze on the shaded side of the street)! Nearly everyone who lives here uses the app "Grab" but you can't use that app without a local phone number. Staff are willing to help you call one. Not really any good local food places very close by, but there is a restaurant in the hotel. Ask the staff for recommendations. The air-conditioning is rather noisy. We bring earplugs when we travel to Vietnam!

Person at reception started explaining us central aircondition concept as if we weren't aware.. problem was temporarily sorted but we were too tired by that time to change rooms. And again a.c. stopped working at 4 in morning. Kids could not sleep at all. Room is also congested

Cons: The reception staff were not helpful at all. Please also be aware that there is a major construction site next to the hotel which we were not aware of. This was both noisy and ugly view from our room ! We were unable to book any sightseeing tours at the hotel unless we paid cash - we couldn’t use a card or charge to our room.

Pros: The location was ok once we found our bearings. We didn’t spend much time in the room as we wanted to explore the city. We used the company’ they recommended to explore the tunnels and our guide was very good. But we used a company we found to do a scooter tour and they were wonderful. The decor was quite dated but the bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed. The views from the rooftop bar are amazing and also from the breakfast lounge. The price is great for a city stopover.

Public bath was with hot shower and body wash provided. reception butler gave a proper tour of the hostel and also help you with luggage. never had a best hostel experience until this one :)

The Ban Minh right beside hotel is worth trying. Grab might have some problem finding the hotel location so I had to insert the address instead of hotel name.

Cons: Reception could be more helpful. I wanted to borrow a plier because my luggage got stucked at the zips. I had googled 'plier' in Vietnamese but couldn't even get that out before having them hang up on me. Tried to call several times after first attempt but no one picked up the call. This could be improved. The bathroom was constantly wet because the shower curtain wasn't at the right agle and water spills out from Jacuzzi unit and flooded the whole bathroom.

Cons: Sadly, they have a really weird way of payment. First, they withdraw the entire fee from your account even before you arrive. Then, once you're there, they claim that they have refunded the sum you paid, and make you pay for the room once more, explaining that the refunded money will arrive on your account in a few days time. There's apparently no way around this, it's their "policy". I would recommend booking.com to warn customers in advance about this.
