It was an amazing atmosphere and staff were incredible. Also breakfast was fantastic.
The location was excellent - In the main heart of Waikiki, accessible to many restaurants, bars and shops. The staff and their customer service was exceptional from check in to check out. Our stay was everything we wanted and paid for. We would definitely recommend and be coming back !!!!
What we would love to see in the future would be a change in the pool hours and the limited food selection by the pool. We believe there’s room for improvement.
Breakfast is great. However, when you make a pot of tea you need to fill pot half way with boiling water otherwise the tea is too weak.
Not very much at all
$1100 AUD per night. Very old style and worst value for money hotel in Hawaii There are much better hotels for half the price like the Moana surf rider. I was booked for 10 nights but I cancelled after night 1 and moved to Moana surf rider. Helakulani is Way over priced with absolutely no beach left
I liked the location and staff were friendly enough. The breakfast was OK, the room was a bit small compared to other 5 star hotels, but comfortable.
Although the breakfast was OK, the wait staff was overwhelmed due to the large number of guests eating at the same time. For example, on the morning of 16th of August, there were only 6 wait staff trying to cater to approximately 60-70 people eating at the breakfast buffet, and only had one busboy and one hostess. The F&B manager/supervisor was nowhere in site to assist, or supervise the staff. The same thing happened the next day. Throughout it all, the staff coped with the situation and did their best under the circumstances. I also believe the property needs to be renovated, as the hallway carpeting is old, frayed, and fading. The furniture and carpet in the room is dated and definitely needs replacement. The entire property needs a facelift. All 'n all, the Halekulani Hotel cannot be rated as a 5 star property, in terms of service and facilities! It was not a good value for the money when compared to other hotels in the same vicinity. They can take some cues from other truly 5 star hotels such as, The Conrad, Fairmont Resorts, and The Grand Hyatt.
Halekulani has been a staple at Waikiki Beach for over 100 years because of its hospitality, impeccable service, and marvelous cuisine. It is one of the finest hotels in Hawaii and is located by the actual freshwater springs that give Waikiki its names.
Guests can choose from a variety of 12 different rooms and suites during their stay. With a warm and sophisticated residential style, each room and suite’s architectural elements and comfortable furnishings offer a unique interpretation of Halekulani’s Hawaiian legacy. Every one of Halekulani’s 453 rooms and suites offers a sense of spaciousness and contemporary conveniences, and most offer ocean views.
Halekulani offers guests distinct options for dining that celebrate their style of cuisine while enjoying beautiful views of the ocean. Guests can choose from La Mer for fine dining, Orchids for more casual elegance or House Without a Key for a relaxed ambiance. There isn’t a wrong choice from any of them. Lewars Lounge and L’Aperitif Cocktail Bar are great places to get a freshly mixed drink before or after the meal.
Spahalekulani will be a spot guests choose to visit during their stay as it makes the spa experience both immersive and rejuvenating. The spa is renowned for its commitment to using therapeutic rituals and modern techniques to restore guest’s minds, body, and spirit. An extensive spa menu is featured including a gentlemen’s choice menu.
Not to be missed, guests can enjoy poolside dining by the heated pool. Experience a morning stretching class in front of the resort on the beach, or get a workout in at the fitness room, one of the best in Waikiki.
