When you stay at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen in Ito, you'll be on the riverwalk, within a 10-minute drive of Izu Glass and Glasswork Museum and Izu Granpal Park. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love this place! I’ve stayed twice and it’s always a joy. The building was gorgeous, our private room was very comfortable and spacious. The onsen and private baths are wonderful. The small deck at the back of the hostel is my favourite spot to have a morning coffee probably in the world.
Cons: Nothing! Thanks again for a great stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! I already came last year just one night and I said the day I'm back to Japan and need a beautiful place to rest this is where I will go, so this is what I did this year for 5 days, writing in the beautiful lounge by the river, cooking delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen and soaking morning and evening in the hot spring bath! Will come back one day again!
Cons: nothing to say.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This truly is a special place that lived up to it's reputation. Great communal areas for the solo, group or family traveller. Small but good kitchen area and fantastic onsen for a hostel. I was in a shared room but really quite and spacious. Voucher for outdoor onsen also welcomed.
Cons: Nothing. Loved it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hostel is beautiful. A century old ryokan turned into hostel is an amazing value. We reserved a private room with bathroom that over looked the river and had smiles the whole time. You have to make your own bed and provide your own food (or eat out). The private and separate gender onsens that were onsite were awesome to soak in when ever you wanted.
Cons: Things were a little noisy as sound travels through the walls rather easily but earplugs were provided if you have noisy neighbors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great place to stay in Ito! It is right on the river and our room had a river view from the veranda, which was lovely. Our room was very spacious and the shared facilities were well taken care of. It is also close to the water and there is a little park close by, which is great to view the water at. It is close to the train station and central to things around town. Lots of history within the property as well.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place was just amazing, very traditional, wood creaks, rooms smells like tatamis and futons are confortable. Common places are simple and allow you to have a little bit of privacy if you want, the neighborhood is super nice and only 10mins walk from the train station. The onsen is just... Perfect as you could expect from a place like this. No breakfast or meal available though. The whole staff speaks perfect English.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: If you like experience the Japanese culture, this is the perfect place for you. I enjoy this traditional Japanese bedroom and it has a nice view of the river.
Cons: At the night when I stay, the next door had a party in the midnight. The room was very noisy. We did not have a good sleep. It would be nice if there is sign in the hotel to remind every one be quite after 11pm.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and owner were very kind and friendly. It’s also kids friendly place too. The room was so spacious. We also could use a big bathroom privately. We’re repeater and we come back again next year.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: very friendly people,so helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It`s a perfect offer for your holiday at Izukogen, caring owners family, amazing overall experience and a great value for the money they charge. Private hot bath, yukata provided, a true ryokan experience. Free massage armchair. Owner was kind enough to meet us at the station and give us a lift back too. I also rented an electric bicycle from him to go to the coast and explore the area.
Cons: Everything was just perfect, thank you once again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent option for those wishing for a first class Japanese experience. I concur absolutely with the other positive comments provided by other travellers
Cons: Nothing - all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: eveeything is so great!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good ryokan, great value for great price while being authentic. They are very used to foreigners so everything has English translations attached. There is one large and one small public bath: They switch the gender assigned kinda randomly which means that depending on the time you may end up in either the big or the small one. Both are good. Less than 10 mins walk from the train station. Very nice small restaurants in immediate proximity (they close early).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was kind-enough to pick us up,vdrive us back to the train station as well as to a sight about town. Excellent dinner & value, nice-clean communal bath
Cons: The room was a bit tight, the price at 12-13K yen is a bit high
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bath is public (as common in Japan) but they are happy to arrange a time where you can use it all by yourself, that was very nice and considerate!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. Definitely would come to this place again next time.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Decent service with nice deco rooms. Food is amazingly good and creative, both dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Typical tourist hotel means quite some guests might not know the tradition rules, which might cause a huge mess.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was amazing
Cons: We had to miss breakfast on the last day of our stay since we had to leave early in the morning to catch our flight in Narita. Wish they had a bento option!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with 7 onsens on the property. It was so fun to try them all. It was a great blend of shared space, but private. Once you’re in the onsen space, you can lock the door and it’s yours until you’ve soaked enough.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quiet excellence in a a rural environment
Cons: Some of the tiling in the onsen is coming off.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of the staff was second to none. The food was incredible. Everything felt quiet, tranquil and private. The onsen were incredible. Really appreciated that they were completely private.
Cons: I don't sleep particularly well with light so I found the room quite bright at night. However, the hot springs and the futon made me very tired so this wasn't much of a problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was our last hotel during the trip to Japan. We really felt relaxed. Extremely good food, nice private onsens. Very clean rooms and friendly staff.
Cons: Pricey

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We liked the open-air bath in our room. The staff were so attentive and hospitable. The dinners, both Japanese and French, were simply amazing and exceeded our expectations.
Cons: The wifi in our room did not work well at all. They lent us a mobile phone which we could use as a personal hotspot and it worked reasonably well (but not fully).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Impeccable service. Beautiful surroundings. Dining was superb. Little extras made it special.
Cons: Nothing. Loved it all!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous property. Beautiful room. Lovely outdoor space & onsen. A totally indulgent & decadent stay.
Cons: Better air conditioning in room. Got very hot
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are all extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Dinner and breakfast are excellent!
Cons: Would be better if the room wasn’t on the basement level. The bed linen was a bit on the rough side but the duvet cover was very smooth.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and each of the rooms carefully thought through with beautiful gardens. The food was impeccable, particularly the teppanyaki and the bottle of Chablis we had was divine. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: We enjoyed good breakfasts and excellent dinners. As we stayed for three nights, we had the chance to try every type of cuisine on offer. The kaiseki was very good, the French cuisine was excellent and the teppanyaki delightful. Portions are just right. The private onzen bath we had was really agreeable and the water temperature is adjustable. We especially like the small sword museum as well as the video with clear explanations of how samurai swords are made. Scent bag making was also fun and a pleasant activity on a rainy day.
Cons: The place really needs a face lift. They put in a new wing but the old wing is the one that requires extensive renovations to remain competitive and attractive. The lobby area is very tired, the carpet was old and worn. They also need to clean the toilet bowl thoroughly as accumulated dirt is visible and rather offensive. Non-Japanese staff not up to standards and totally lacks Japanese manners. Found out that the owners are Taiwanese - well, I hope they remember that this is supposedly a Japanese ryokan and a certain style of etiquette is expected.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent experience at the hotel. Staff very friendly, speak very good English and help understand the accommodation. The room I was in was a larger one with a view of the hills and the sea, and the rotenburo on the balcony, clean, very convenient, feels well maintained. Meals were served in the room, very tasty, and a good choice of main course for the dinner, including abalone, wagyu and deer. Hot spring excellent, and rotation between male and female hours allows to experience all of facilities either in the morning or evening. Great views from the rotenburo. You can take a shuttle bus from the station, or it's a 10-15 minute walk from Minami Ito station, which is also convenient enough and gives good views of the area. Will gladly come back and stay again.
Cons: Everything excellent. If I am picky, would be great to have milk available near the hot spring area though.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: traditional Japanese dinner & breakfast provided are delicious! the environment of the hotel is good, the staff are nice, the hot spring facilities are decent
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing. This convinced us to also try the dinner, which didn't let us down. The host was very nice and both picked us up when we arrived and drove us when we left from/to the train station. There is a superb view from the room and the private onsen available is very cosy. This is definitely the best place we have stayed in Japan.
Cons: I would have liked to have some drawers / closet for unpacking. But the room was very big and there were some hangers provided, so it was not a big issue.
6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good - if you liked fish. My wife didn’t and had very little to eat. The outdoor Onsen was fine and we really appreciated the owner giving us a lift to the station.
Cons: Previous reports suggests the need for an upgrade. For the price the renovations need to start ASAP. The indoor Onsen didn’t look good so we didn’t use it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel owner and his wife are very helpful and polite. They make delicious food with heart. It seems that we had fine dining every meal. On the day we departed, they even made us snack for our lunch. The room and the dinning room are clean with beautiful view. The outdoor hot spring is good with beautiful scenery.
Cons: Too many steps to go up the hotel from the road. The indoor hot spring is a bit too worn out.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were warm & excellent and traditional first night dinner was incredible. Views are stunning view of this cozy Japanese beach town.
Cons: Some of the furniture is a bit old.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great view across the bay. The property itself is very small with just 3 (large!) rooms, therefore very homely atmosphere. We enjoyed the on-site Onsen very much.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff Delicious Japanese breakfast Huge room Amazing view
Cons: Onsen (Bath houses) could use alittle work, but they were perfectly usable

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This exceeded my expectation a lot. Everything was so great, especially the service, the food, the privacy in the room, and all the facilities we have. The room was traditional Japanese style, very clean, spacious and has a private onsen. I had a great time with my family and I think it's great for couples as well. I hope I could stayed there longer and I will definitely come back once I have the chance.
Cons: None.

Cons: None
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice personel even they not speak english you can comunicate with, very clean, very good cofee Illy
9.0 Excellent
Pros: - Amazing private Onsen in the room - Great service and wonderful 7 course dinner - Traditional Japanese room - Bathroom was really well equipped including face masks, free toothbrush and hairdryer
Cons: - You get a free traditional kimono/Yakuta to wear but not much instruction so we had to google! - The neighbourhood does not have much going on nearby but we didn’t explore much so there might be more in downtown Ito - As you can see, almost nothing! We would definitely come back
7.1 Good
Pros: The room with private onsen was great. Beautiful garden and a spacious tub. The staff was lovely and worked hard to effectively communicate with us as English speakers.
Cons: The hotel outside of the room did not have the historic ryoken vibe. We did not use the shared onsen and the pool was not open.

Pros: The hospitality and food were 10/10 and very good value. You’d easily pay $140 per head for the dinners, excluding the breakfast, and private onsens.
Cons: It’s a little out of the way, however the hosts picked us up and dropped us off whenever needed free of charge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay - the food, the staff, everything was excellent. The staff was incredibly accommodating - they even picked us up from the station! We had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful and peaceful and the onsens were lovely!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view and food are so excellent.

Cons: maintenance of surrounding grounds
9.6 Excellent
Pros: 7 hotspring that you can use privately/reserve. Hotspring bath in your room. Amazing food and super kind staffs. Gorgeous view of the ocean from the room and baths. Quiet, tucked away in Futo, so glad to have found this gem! Would stay again!
Cons: Only thing is it is a bit far and not central to the spots in Ito and such, but that’s also a positive thing since you will be away from the crowd. If you are looking for a quiet get away this would be a great choice! Owner is also very nice to have taken us to places we go to and pick us up.

Pros: The staff were very welcoming, breakfast incredible. Great onsen!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A step back in time into a wonderful traditional royokan experience- the roof top hot spring experience was brilliant & the private dining experience very special- spacious & comfortable accommodation & lots to explore in the vicinity
Cons: The typhoons destruction but fortunately the hotel was spared
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The experience of an authentic ryokan. We had an unforgettable experience. Very friendly staff. Even gave us a lift to the train station.
7.1 Good
Pros: Thank you for upgrade us to special room which is very big and have onsen in room. We like the cable car which is use for the onsen and room (unique). There are two kinds of excellent onsen, one is salt onsen which we never try before.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel is an authentic traditional Japanese ryokan which has a japanese garden at the hotel lobby where we were able to sit on the massage chairs and enjoy a therapeutic view and sounds of the mini waterfall. The hotel staffs were friendly and hospitable. The rooms were spacious and we had a good view of the city and nature as its situated in the middle of the mountain. They have a mini rail cable that brings you to the rooms which was very interesting but also became a hassle each time we wanted to use the hot springs at the ground level or get out for meals. The rail cable closes at 10:30pm so we had to watch for time to avoid having to climb many flights of stairs if we missed it. The outdoor hot springs were amazing but there was no shower available for that which also created some inconvenience.
Cons: The hotel was rather old and they had pests issues (given the fact that they are also next to nature). one of our futon was infested with mini cockroaches which totally freaked us out! The staff was quick to respond and changed the entire bed for my friend but we were left with a creepy feeling after knowing that we were sleeping on futons which were on the tatami floor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Traditional Japanese family feeling.
Cons: Friendly staffs, wonderful breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy check in, breakfast, traditional hot springs, calm atmosphere

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The "Premier Twin Room with Hot Spring Bath" was excellent. We enjoyed our time to the fullest. Breakfast was rich and very good, too. We didn't use the public facillities as our room had everything we were looking for.
7.1 Good
Pros: The private family onsen is nice. I love the milk from the vending machine! Couldn't even find it anywhere else in Tokyo. The room is nice and spacious. There's a mix of western and japanese style and have the option to sleep on beds or futon. The yukata is neat and nice.
Cons: The staff attitude was kinda dull and wasn't as expected. Probably because I look Chinese? The experience from a ryokan nearby which we stayed the night before was way better and much more friendly and courteous. Only heater was available at that time and was told aircond is not available. Probably due to the cold weather there. Dinner served was not bad but was below my expectation for the price we paid.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Cons: The quality of service was first rate and faultless. However, given that most of the guests are golfers requiring sufficient appetite, the portions were far too small (factoring in the Japanese’s penchant for frugality). I would recommend that the portions be increased even if guests have to pay extra for meals.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptinoal service for gokfers
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location great course.
Cons: Food was super expensive and average at best.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Golf here is amazing and the spa/onsen were great
Cons: The hotel is in need of a major facelift. It’s a fantastic property but looks like it’s frozen in time (1950’s). It’s charming in some respects but the experience of staying/eating/golfing is expensive and some basic updates are needed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is really great, as well as the hotel grounds. Staff was very helpful, professional and spoke English. Room was very spacious. We enjoyed our stay at Kawana Hotel.
Cons: We booked a private outside bath, which was said to be discounted in the event of rainy weather. In the hotel it turned out there's a strangely complicated process for it which meant we didn't get the discount, even though it was raining at the time of our bath.
7.1 Good
Pros: The onsen pool is so cool and nice.
Cons: Very nice view ❤️

A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very spacious room!
Cons: Aged facilities Inconvenient location if you are not driving
9.2 Excellent
Pros: room size and good view. services is good. dinner is delicious.
Cons: dinner and breakfast sold out too early
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was very big. Good onsen.
Cons: Location you need to go by car.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is close to 大室山 which we visited the next day of our stay. Our room oversaw the ocean from the hill, where this property is situated. Parking is available next to each one of the wings/buildings so it's easy to move around with luggages. Rooms are spacious and clean. Ideal for stay in consecutive days if visiting by cars.
Cons: There're 3 wings and our studio is located on Wing 1, which is the furthest from the onsen and the laundry room. As soon as we leave our studio, the whole passage is covered but not enclosed. So it's quite windy and chilling walking thru our way to those facilities.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great Onsen. Big rooms with kitchen but a bit old. Shame the pool was under renovation.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Big apartment with lovely views. Nice pool although rather dated. Staff were helpful and friendly. Restaurant was fantastic but very expensive.
Cons: Our room was extremely outdated and in need of repair. Most of the resort looks very tired. It’s not 5 star, more 3 star. Lobby, restaurant and onsen are in the best condition. Very musty smell from people smoking in the room even though there are signs to only smoke on the balcony. We had to pay extra to use the self service equipment for the kitchen such as crockery and cutlery which seemed odd considering it’s a self-service apartment.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Veiw, onsen, apartment, location, dinner, parking
Cons: Breakfast is good, but could be better :)
