breakfast perfect, place out to river excellent
shower cabin very small, water taps in shower cabin very sensitive, not easy to adjust (mix)
The location is right next to the Konigsberg cathedral, the most iconic site in the city. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, with the assistance of reception and astonishing decor. Seems like traveling back into early 20th century. Breakfast was phenomenal! Classic dining hall with great selections of drinks (they have sparkling wine, yes), cold plates and choices on orders. If they could offer gluten-free or lactose-free options, I would give 11 out of 10 stars.
Probably I could suggest something... The carpet in our room was kinda dusty. We also found long hair on it.
Room was clean with a comfy bed and a nice view outside of the window. Breakfast was the best part of it, simply delicious!
Location is really nice. Car park is close. Had a nice view through the window.
Poor internet connection. Wanted to have a conference meeting through skype and that did not work well.
The hotel's location around the corner from Kaliningrad Cathedral (the old Koenigsberger Dom) and on the river Pregola is just stunning. Beside it's in the city's center from where I did set out on foot and bicycle to discover the many places worth a visit. In contrast to many I spoke to back home who uttered regret about what they saw as lack of historic references ie the Kaliningrad/Koenigsberg German past I found the municipality's effort on explaining the historic context satisfactory. By way of professional and illustrative stands at many historic sites authorities described the Koenigsberg as it was and why it wasn't anymore. Although (we) Germans started the war that eventually wiped out the old Koenigsberg they in fact did record that British bombers destroyed the much-remembered and restaurated Cathedral (now serving as a music hall) on a once densely populated island full of architectural treasures. Against above, the sumptuous hotel breakfast may only serve as a footnote.
