Pros: We stayed to the Mahana to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, without kids. The staff was very helpful throughout the week. Upon check-in, they gifted us chocolates and a bottle of wine for our anniversary. A very sweet touch! Our condo was beautiful with a full size kitchen. Coffee and toiletry amenities included. Daily maid service was awesome. Loved having a washer and dryer in the condo. Beautiful views out of the floor to ceiling windows in the living room, bedroom, and lanai. Pool area was very nice (not too crowded) and everything is within walking distance! Saw sea turtles from our lanai. There are no other properties so close to the ocean.
Cons: Nothing- We will bring the whole family next time.

Cons: Went to Japengo for dinner...sat us in the lounge area...even though the lanai was ready for seating and to catch the sunset...were told it wasn't open yet although hours of operation stated 5:30...sat with our backs to the water and couldn't see the sunset through the bar...after 10 minutes about 20 Japanese tourists were seated in the restaurant. felt shunned. The floor/carpet was dirty in our room (201). Nasty stains (by the nightstands and throughout the floor) we wore slippahs in the room! Coming from Honolulu, expected more. We were on the second floor and couldn't sit on our lanai since the people next door were out there smoking cigarettes and it smelled disgusting. For $400/night felt ripped off! Also feel parking should be a couple dollars a day...not $16! Then an additional $30 hotel fee???? Hyatt residence club employees were shoving the "timeshare" experience down our throats! Didn't spend that kind of money to try to be persuaded to purchase anything.

Pros: I liked the beauty of the resort. All the flowers and the way the pool was designed. Very beautiful grounds.
Cons: The rooms need to have some upgrades done. Get rid of acustic ceilings old and outdated. The door to the bathroom at the bottom was chipped up and discolored. Moldings in bathroom needed to be recaulked.

Cons: The hotel room we stayed in was a bit of a ways from the lobby and we had to walk through a row of shops to get to the front, but towards the end it wasnt that bad being away from commotion. The breakfast was expensive for what was being offered. It wasnt bad, just not worth $30/person. Parking was $18/day which hurt after we were there for so many days.

Pros: The design of the resort: the pools, the waterfalls, the wildlife lawns, etc. The staff are consistently nice and patient, the shuttle service within Ka'anapoli area, the size of the rooms. Compares to other resorts in the area such as Marriott and Westin, Hyatt's rate is very reasonable about average of $350/night.
Cons: Son'z restaurant food was terrible for 5-star, fine-dinning categorization. The popcorn ceilings in the rooms can be upgraded. It has no beach - we'd have to walk further the Marriott resort for the beach. Hyatt should do a better job enforcing the no-smoking policy on floors designated as non-smoking floors, it's never pleasant to be out on lanai and having to deal with someone next to your unit smoking up a storm.

If you're content to stay at the resort all the time, this is fine, but possibly to be closer to everything else you might want to be farther North.

Room cleaning was perfunctory at best, tv in room didn’t work (which is fine on vacation but late at night after a long day, it’s nice to throw on a movie, especially with kids - our friends couldn’t get their tv to work either). Overall, there just seemed to be a staff shortage, which is fair in tough times, but when you’re paying $600 a night with all the taxes and fees and $21 a drink and $9 for coffee, it’s harder to justify...

Kid friendly and areas that were adult oriented...you can’t beat a swim up covered bar next to a man made waterfall! Beautiful cabanas that you can rent on the beach for a reasonable price...wish we had more hours in a day! Can’t wait to return!

Cons: The valet took 15 minutes to get our car and I had to ask twice to get the car. Two of the three elevators were broken so we eventually carried out bags down 5 flights of stairs after waiting 10 minutes. The bartender used his hands to put ice in people's glasss.

Pros: As always its very family friendly that accommodates the entire family. Lot of kids activities for all ages and the many pools makes it fun for all to pool hop within the same resort. Staff are always showing Aloha and the bbq grills are nice to have. Ocean front property and the beach is beautiful with a beach walk to the end of resorts.

Pros: We liked the location and a majority of the staff.
Cons: The room smelled horrible! The carpet had a weird stench that was a mix of old people perfume and perhaps mold or wet dog. It would be hard to miss by any person who had cleaned the room. It smelled by the bed and in the bedroom closet. Also the overall smell off the condo was just old and musty. The gym was an extra fee that was never mentioned $5 per person, which was also very dirty and lacked ventilation. The person who worked there was rude and condescending, which was completely unnecessary.

Nice 3.5 mile beach trail starts in a park just south of the property; good for running and walking, but could be contested in spots. we had full access to the timeshare immediately south, and frequented the happy hour at their beach/pool bar and their lounge chairs. Grounds were lush and attractive.

Pros: The location is amazing and views were really mind blowing.
Cons: The room was very shoddy. Kitchen was dirty and had stains everywhere. So did the dishes. There was no spa or restaurant in the resort as was suggested in their details. The pool and hot tub weren't working for 2 days. Bathrooms were unclean as well and everything was generally old and dirty. Beds weren't comfortable either.

Cons: Cottage walls very thin; could hear every conversation of even the quiet neighbors. Unfortunately, many were loud and inconsiderate, talking loudly and playing TV at high volume late at night (>11pm). Upstairs neighbors had several apparently unsupervised children who were running, jumping and screaming well past 11pm several nights in a row. They occasionally ran outside behind our ground floor unit to play with other unsupervised children late into the night. I called Hotel Security several times, to no avail. Also had drunken man spend several minutes trying to get into our room, well past midnight, until his slightly less drunk friend figured out they were at the wrestling my door. Several weddings on the property probably contributed to the unsupervised children and wandering drunks.

Most everything in the menu has some sort of sweet seasoning or sauce in it without the possibility of asking for the plate without it and/or lack of variety. Far from other food selection. Pros: The staff made us feel very comfortable, were very responsive and accommodating to requests. The man at the gate made a point of welcoming us home every time we drove back in, which was very nice. Pools and lounge areas are nice, although the pool and jacuzzi closes a bit earlier than we thought it would. If you play tennis, they have many new courts and a pro shop. Although older, a close walk to other resorts and Whaler's Village. Definitely a good place for the price.

Pros: The entire resort was really well maintained, had an amazing view of the ocean, liked the fact that the patios were huge. Really close proximity to the beach. Convenient store inside the resort was very useful and had good breakfast.
Cons: Even though the resort itself was really well maintained, the unit itself was outdated and had issues like the TV remote did not work, patio door was broken and hard to open and close. Kitchen was very outdated as well.

Cons: Not enough parking. Kapalua Villas is located within the large resort complex. Although they offered a nice complementary shuttle service anywhere within the complex, we preferred to explore on our own using our rental car and limited parking spaces made it difficult.

Pros: The staff at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kaanapali was professional, courteous, sympathetic, and attentive. They did a great job in resolving the issue that Getaroom.com [which Kayak.com outsourced to] created.
Cons: I'll have to think twice when making a reservation through Kayak.com. When I made my reservation, Kayak.com outsourced the reservation through some 3rd party vendor that I had never heard of before...Getaroom.com. I should have trusted my gut instinct and not gone thru either. When I arrived at the Westin, the staff informed me that I had no reservation on file. So I called Kayak.com, whose automated voicemail said they were closed. Fortunately, I was able to get in touch with Getaroom.com, but their staff had me wait over the course of one hour! The customer service rep from this online vendor kept putting me on hold for 15 minutes at a time. It was unprofessional and amateur at best. They said they had my reservation and that they sent it to the Westin. Yet the Westin never received it until an hour and a half after numerous attempts to get Getaroom.com to act on getting the propper email file sent. I was so tired from the ordeal that I was over the whole booking through Kayak.com. Beware.

Cons: At the check-in they told us our room is ocean view with king bed. When we got to the room, it had a view of a parking lot with an ugly building and had 2 twin beds. They did not have the room we booked a month in advance because they "overbooked" for the holidays. This was completely unacceptable. They refused to give us the room with Ocean View until the next day. We booked another hotel and disputed the amount I paid for this hotel. At the end we lost one day of our 4 day vacation.

Cons: Staff assigned me and my wife a room with 2 double beds for a week long stay in the most romantic place on earth. It was just too bad we could never sleep together the whole week. Ruined the whole trip for me.

Pros: The resort is beautiful, I had a mountain view (the cheaper rooms) and the view is still amazing. There is a new shopping plaza immediately next door with restaurants and ice cream shops. Great outdoor pools.
Cons: This resort is not cheap, which is okay. What is not okay is you have to pay to rent a crappy plastic chair to use when sitting at the beach. And then you have to pay additional money to rent an umbrella. And if you want to sit in a shaded seat by the pool you have to pay for that too. Totally bogus.

Pros: I saw reviews about the spa in travel & leisure magazine. And it and the staff met expectations. They were amazing. Also, the hotel itself is beautiful!!
Cons: The restaurant staff and the guys selling the Maui Jim sunglasses need some training on customer service. They were pretty rude. I was able to avoid the wait staff by eating else were but the towel sunglasses guys I had no choice.

Pros: Had a wonderful time at the Westin and would go back. The staff was awesome. They had a mini fridge in the room which worked out great for us. You can go snorkeling right off the beach at the Westin. Whalers village is right next door as well.
Cons: The only thing we didn't like was that there wasn't a table in the room. There was a desk but not a small table to sit at and eat a little something the two of us.

Cons: Entire "resort" area unusable. Most pools closed. Those that were open were choked with diesel exhaust and unimaginable jackhammering between 9 to 5 every weekday. Even the spa quiet area was affected. All adults-only areas closed without notice. We spent extra money to stay here. We could have had more comfort for less money staying in a van on the beach.

Cons: The room was horribly uncomfortable. The couch was faded and sunken in, the TV was outdated, the Wifi did not work, but the worst feature was the bed. The bed was a box spring, you could literally feel every coil. There were disgusting brown stains on all the curtains, as well as the comforter. Maid service is only every 4 days, and there is an extra $95 fee that was not mentioned on KAYAK for cleaning services after check out. There was also an extra charge if I wanted clean towels on the days I did not have maid service. I was very disappointed in this hotel. I would never recommend this place, nor ever stay here again.

Cons: No usable beach. Misrepresented amenities - there is no air conditioning - only a ceiling fan. The room was not well maintained. The front desk had no record of the reservation, however the agent at the front desk created a reservation when we presented documentation of the confirmation.

Cons: Shower didn't work. Mold and rust. After switching us to a room with a slightly functioning shower. Which is better than none at all. We were hit with a $60 per night Resort fee that was not included in the kayak fee. And as for Resort, there's not a single amenity. Resorts have pools, they have restaurants, they have amenities. This is a rundown condo that happens to be at the water's edge. There's no beach. It's a sea wall.

Pros: Loooooved the unobstructed view and access to the water. The place was convenient and clean. Having a pool and hot tub was an added bonus.
Cons: The sofa bed could be better since i could feel every spring but the waves lulled me to sleep. The bathroom could do with a vent especially when showering.
