Overview

Whether it is due to a long layover or a desire to be close to the airport, the Holiday Inn Express Los Angeles Lax Airport is a good choice for leisure or business travelers of all kinds. Though it is placed for easy access to the airport and is less than two miles away, it is also incredibly convenient to those who want to head into the heart of the famous city. As an example, the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach Boardwalk, and Hollywood Walk of Fame are all within 10 miles. There are many dining and shopping options nearby, and the Hollywood Park Casino & Racetrack as well as Sony Pictures Studios are just four miles away.

While there is so much to see, do and enjoy about Los Angeles, the hotel could also serve as an ideal base for that long layover or business trip, too. After all, the amenities within the hotel grounds are quite extensive. There is an outdoor pool complex with hot tub and sundeck, a fully-furnished fitness center, a concierge desk, a gift shop, free daily breakfast in the restaurant, a full business service center, free Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, free airport shuttles, and free parking, too.

The rooms are also welcome retreats from the hustle and bustle of travel or the city and each includes black out shades, an in-room safe, large and private bathroom with premium toiletries, a flat screen TV with premium channels and movies, direct dial phone, beverage system, separate work desk, and morning newspaper delivery.

Don’t think of the Holiday Inn Express Los Angeles Lax Airport as simply convenient for travel. Think of it as a homelike and comfortable spot whether for a quick overnight or even a holiday in the city.

Pros (+) Clean rooms, free parking, breakfast included (although I didn't try it).
Cons (-) WiFi is slow and not too reliable (I was disconnected at least 3 times within 2 hours), elevators are very slow, the rooms are dated, and there's a slightly musty smell.
