The Hollywood Historic Hotel was built by architect S. Charles Lee in 1927 and is a member of the National Register of Historic Places.This hotel is a true historical landmark in the heart of Hollywood CA, where the view from the rooms is the Hollywood Sign, and is only one block away from Raleigh and Paramount Pictures Studios.The hotel has had many famous guests from dignitaries, diplomats, and celebrities.
The hotel has been lovingly remodeled and reopened with modern luxury and classic grandeur. When the hotel opened in 1927 it was then called The Hollywood Melrose Hotel and used by many actors during the silent film era. All the rooms and the building have many of the original features such as the sinks, bathtubs, mirrors, windows, doors, stairwells, and even the large stained, leaded glass windows in the lobby. There are 62 rooms offering free Wi-Fi, 24 hour front desk service, large eastern king beds, and refrigerator in all rooms.

Pros (+) I loved the photos on the walls of the great Hollywood stars, the beautiful lobby area, the large refrigerator in our room, the complimentary water and coffee.
Cons (-) The bathroom was so small it required thought to maneuver.
Pros (+) Everyone and everything was great. 4 days, 3 nights and not a single dislike. Will definitely stay here again.
Cons (-) This hotel was a disappointment. We had to check out one night earlier than planned. The hotel is still under going major maintenance, the rooms are stuffy and carpets are dirty. It was definitely not worth the money. The existing ratings and reviews are fairly misleading.
Cons (-) I had to pay for parking one car is $10 second car was $25 dollars.
Pros (+) The hotel front desk staff were very respectful and helpful.
Cons (-) room was a bit cool and the little heater in my room didn't work
Pros (+) I had no issues with this hotel and stayed here for a week. However I always adjust my expectations to what I pay for... Of course it's not the Ritz Carlton but everything is very convenient and my room/bathroom was very clean at all times. It is true that there is a little (old) odor when you first enter the room. However this hotel is built in 1927...
