Mariánské Lázně hotels near St Vladimir Church

Pros: Location was good. Breakfast was generally good, but paying extra for a cappuccino or an omelette is unusual. The outside facade was excellent, but many problems lurk within......

Cons: No lift in the building!! And there are about 40 stairs to climb (with luggage) from the ground floor to the second floor, much of it via a spiral staircase. I'm pretty fit, but found it a bit of a chore to climb those stairs every night, especially after negotiating the north face of the Eiger beforehand (i.e. the hotel driveway)... Nowhere did it mention this in the hotel website. The driveway up to the hotel is at a very very steep angle, the steepest I have ever encountered at a hotel, so bring your crampons and safety ropes, you will certainly need them if there is any frost or ice. The second floor bedrooms are in the attic of the building, so there are no views at all (dormer windows pointing to the sky) and you have to duck your head even when getting into bed. I also had a skylight window directly over my bed, which was an 'interesting' touch. When I was booking the room it certainly didn't mention that I would be in the attic of the hotel with the sloping roof cutting off much of my room area (unless you like crawling on your hands and knees). My bathroom had no shower and the bath (which was huge and would have taken an hour to fill) was under the eaves of the building, so it was a bit of an acrobatic feat getting in and out of the bath to have a handheld shower each morning. The food in the restaurant is certainly tasty, but the dinner menu is ridiculously short with very few choices. I really have no idea why this hotel styles itself a 'Gourmet' Hotel. In the end, I found all of this rather tedious and would certainly not stay here again.

Pros: Excellent central location in the spa district of Mariánské Lázně. Good free parking behind the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The standard double rooms are in the upper floor under the roof as shown in the pictures. Our room was fairly large, nicely decorated and had a large bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. Wi-Fi was rather slow (<2 Mbps). The restaurant is indeed a gourmet restaurant. We had an excellent dinner for a very good price. Breakfast was also good but not particularly gourmet.

Pros: We spent 2 nights in this hotel and everything was beyond perfection. The room was extremely clean, the bed very comfortable, the breakfast excellent, the location perfect, ... We have been welcomed in the best way possible and for sure we will come back as soon as we can!! AMAZING!

Pros: I liked the motion sensors in the hallways that came online as you walked added some spooky moments

Cons: Front steps under repair, also needing a handrail. Would be good to add a none slip finish too, like sica sand in a clear epoxy.

Pros: Really great location. Very quite. Not far from Kolonada, about 5-6 min onfoot.

Cons: - There are NO rooms with one big bed in reality, only shifted small beds. It is the most disgusting con; - Breakfast not so good as it could be; - Hotel is a little bit old, local repairs are desirable.

Pros: The hotel is located at the side of a forest and most of the sightseeing spots are in walking distance. The surroundings is so quiet that it is a good place to take a rest. The room is big and comfort.

Pros: Very nice room, larger than expected (we stayed in a superior double room). Satellite TV with domestic, German, Russian and international channels. Bathroom and shower also great. The hotel also had a separate room close to the lobby, where it was possible to relax or work and order cafe or drinks from the reception.

Cons: The room was a little cold at night, but the duvets were fine and so we slept well. Breakfast could have been better, especially the coffee. You just have to lower your expectations a little bit in this regard. Didn't try any spa services.

Pros: Traditional Marienbad hotel, luxuriously outfitted room, quiet, friendly service, good breakfast, only ten minute walk from Colonnade, backs onto wonderful beech forest that doubles as geological park.

Pros: Location in the middle between train station and town centre, about 10/15 minute walk each way. Kaufland and other shops about 10 minute walk, restaurants and bars close by. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable, the staff were very nice.

Pros: It's close to everything! Only a few minutes to supermarket, city center, restaurants, gas station. Lovely rooms with great view on balcony. Helpful staffs and tasty food! The restaurant is full of people which equals to high quality and good price! Love to return one day!

Cons: It was a bit hard for us (3 seniors & 1 adult & 2 babies) to climb up to our apartment (4th floor?) without elevator.

Pros: The employees are very impatient. It is hard to get more information especially regarding the SPA services. We also get different information on the taxi booking to the railway station. Of course we have a pleasant surprise that it is complimentary but we did not get that when we arrive because we were not informed and had to wait 30mins for a cab. We were told to pay something which we have no idea and eventually paid and the invoice was in Czech. I got someone to check later and found that it is the tourist fees. Shouldn't the hotel have proper translations to avoid unnecessary questions and arguments. The service staff at the SPA booking center are very inpatient too. The SPA services are poor.

Cons: The services of the staff. Very impatient and poor. There is no way to get SPA services if you arrive on Friday and not told that there is no SPA on sunday and Saturday is packed. The restaurant staff aren't too friendly either. The lady serving the free drinks just dumped the drinks on the table and serve other Europeans first. I am an Asian.

Pros: The location is awesome!!! The property was also very well maintained and immaculate, both inside the rooms and in the expansive common areas! Everything worked!

Cons: As native English speakers, I realize that English is difficult so I don’t have unrealistic expectations in different countries. Having said that, the front desk staff was a little less than welcoming as we checked in and as we checked out. It may have been a language issue but a smile goes a long way even when language falters. Finally, in making reservations I asked for help with specific services and was told to wait until we checked in. By the time we checked in a day later nothing was available until after We departed. One of the Employees gave me a brochure for a local massage therapist but found out the place was closed for a month when we found it. That was a bit frustrating. We are both Dinner and Breakfast in the hotel and I’d rate it as only fair.

Pros: Classic combination of old style charm and new conveniences. Red carpets throughout with many brass accents and hardware. Quiet and relaxing location. I stayed for the daily spa treatments which is a must to take the full advantage! The spa treatments very well organized. Plenty of food choices including very healthy ones. Bright dining room and attentive service from the kitchen and serving staff. On my list for coming back.

Cons: Getting to know all the services and their location was a fun adventure. Both in the hotel spa as well as the town.

Cons: No way this is 4* hotel. Started with check in - 30mins, only 1 person at check in talking on the phone then took 3 attempts to write my name properly. We got voucher for 'welcome drink' went there to be told it is only 1 drink for 1 person, the other had to buy. What a welcome

Pros: The room is spacious, walking distance from the main attractions (15 min walking, down/up hill). Breakfast is decent, with fruits.

Cons: The beds were not comfortable, with very old mattresses. Bathroom is clean, but very dark. Although the staff is friendly and helpful, they are not available all the time. if you need something in the evenings you won't find anyone to help.

Pros: We are always staying here when travelling to Marianske Lazne. Perfect location, nice walks in the neighbourhood, forest and fresh air. Parking place. Comfortable and big rooms. Very tasty breakfast! And very friendly and helpful staff :)
