Pick-up at 1225 Metcalf in Montreal was terrible. Poor area to load luggage. Was given no orientation concerning operating the car even when asked. Harassed by garage owner and Avis personnel. Pros:
Staff was very courteus even though they had some stress issue happening. But the lady chatted and managed two employees customers while helping me. BRAVO! They did not have midsize car that I had reserved so they put me in small SUV.Cons:
Small SUV was a less fuel efficient. So ended up filling more gas before returning. Return was quick even though it was a Sunday night 9 pm.Hertz

The car looked to be in shambles, with three different hubcaps. The form said there was no damage to the car, but the paint was chipped, there was a dent, and the front bumper was loose. During the rental period, the tire management system complained about empty tires.3.6 Poor

Car was not available (fixed by taking me to Hertz) and then there were two counters to wait at for Hertz. Why not do everything at one counter? Or even better do it online and skip the counter.Dollar

I picked the car at airport and was told I could drop it at any of the 2 locations downtown (with a map). What they did not tell me is that those 2 locations are not in business anymore...After searching for a while and calling roaming at my expenses I found 1 new location. This is basic customer service but Dollar just doesnt have it...3.6 Poor

- I advised the rental office that I was arriving late by calling them. They told me it was fine. When I arrived they gave me a whole story about how I shouldn't pick up the car late. - the rental was in Montreal, Canada (it usually snows quite a bit in December) and there was no snow brush in the rental I had to buy one - windows were always fogged up - I've been driving in winter conditions for 25 years and never had such a bad experienceNational

- We had initially booked to pick up our car 8am on a Saturday, but we were able to pick it up the evening before (around 7pm on Friday) with no additional cost - Staff at 1200 Stanley Montreal location extremely helpful - Brand new car in excellent condition - Pick up and drop off location was booked for different provinces but extremely satisfied with the low price8.8 Very good
