I had prepaid my booking with Europcar via Kayak. Upon arrival at the rental counter at 7:00AM, the person told me I couldn't rent a car because my current driver's license had only been issued on 8/17/23 and was less than 12 months old. He said that without a copy of my prior license, which of course I didn't have, he couldn't release the vehicle and would therefore cancel the reservation. When I said I'd already paid for the reservation, he said he couldn't help me on the refund, and that I'd have to deal with Kayak. When I told him I rent a vehicle on average once a week, all over the world, and have never had this problem; and also told him I'd been driving for almost 50 years, he said it didn't matter. He said this was Europcar's policy. So, I walked to the next counter (Enterprise) and hired another rental car. It was a terrible experience. I will never rent from Europcar again. Please help me obtain my refund. You should see in the system that Europcar canceled the reservation. Thank you.

I prepaid but was forced to buy standard liability insurance despite me telling them I have my own insurance and declining it. The lady said it is mandatory in Texas. Came to know that was a lie. Also I booked with Visa credit card and it offers same,

This is one of the worst car rental experiences I’ve had. Kayak is terrible to get to. In spite of all the push ads I’ve received from them they have not responded and customer service telephone numbers give out wrong information and Europcar refuses to attend to my rental agreement changes stating that I’ve booked a 3rd party such as Kayak. So you guys do not add value. You just make life more difficult for car renters

The rental location isn’t where it says it is on apple maps or Google maps, the extra fees for being under 25 are extortionate for told it would be 28 euro a day for 3 days ended up costing me 258 euro for the 3 days nearly more than triple what I was originally told. There was no explanation as to how the drop off would happen it was simply a case of here’s your keys and here’s your car. The car itself I could not fault worked perfectly and was a pleasure to drive. The staff I spoke to were friendly enough I feel as though it is the system in which they use that is to blame.

I liked the staff at Hertz very attentive and explained everything.

Cons:

The price changed based on booking. It was supposed to be 86 euro and ended up to be 228 because of insurance. I chose insurance on the booking and the agent said i didnt. so seemed weird. I was too tired to argue. The car had a bad clutch and really going go up hill with out a running start. again i was too far and too tired to argue. I just dealt with it. Typically this is why i dont like renting like this. but when they have you over a barrel.

I was never able to pick up the car due to the car station did not accept my credit card. The car rental should explain prior to the reservation the credit card that tey accept, so that the costumer could make a proper selection. Therefore, dont waste time and money!!!!

The two guys were really helpful. The best I've ever seen at a car rental desk. The woman was extremely disrespectful, with me and especially with other customers. She should not work with people. Not a good advertising for the company

Cons:

Firstly, I had wrote in to say I'd prefer a Mercedes or anything except for an alfa romeo and what I got in the end was an alfa. Also, I wasn't informed that I needed 2 credit cards for deposit ; one visa and one mastercard which I did not prepare beforehand which resulted in so much trouble and delay when I picked up the car at almost 12am. Utterly disappointed.

Pros:

The people did a quick check on the vehicle and processed the return quickly.

Cons:

We left a very important item (an heirloom glass jar filled with sand) in the center console of the vehicle and when we called the drop-off location they were very rude about helping us find the item. Then we called back and they still were not helpful. It seems they did not look through the vehicle thoroughly and we have still not been able to recover the item.

Poor- i will be asking for a refund. The car i was supposed to rent was for 7 passenger's. They did not have a 7 passenger car and was told the car they had for me was the only one available and only sat 5. With our people and luggage that did not work. We had to leave luggage at out first destination and return to get it at the end of our trip. It cost us $300 to store luggage, an extra night at a hotel, an extra day of car rental to retrieve the luggage, extra food and fuel. All told $500euro. Sixt was not accommodating

We had not planned on hiring a car but circumstances changed and we needed one when we landed . I approached the desk to seek availability and got a yes for €350 a day which was ridiculous. I went on line and got the same car for €125 a day, when I went back to the desk with my confirmation number I was told I had to wait one hour for service even though there was no customers there at that time. One hour later the lady gave us the car but not without major drama about insurance and unlimited attempts to upsell us a different car and more insurance.

Very good customer service for pick up, very nice people, friendly and very helpful. Easy drop off as well. Good company, like. I only gave it bad rating in cleanliness and price. Little dirty inside and pretty dirty outside, seems like they just passed the vacuum cleaner after receiving it and that’s it. Great car though! Very comfortable, spacious, GPS, CarPlay and USB charger… But also crazy expensive 900 euros for 3 days…

I made a reservation for a Ford focus or similar sized vehicle. Sixt only had a Jeep Renegade available for me - a full sized SUV. I was driving on the Amalfi Coast thr next ř days and purposely booked with them to get a smaller vehicle when navigating the small roads there. I was told take it or leave it when I arrived at the check in counter

I processed my car rental to start at the Naples airport as we were flying in that morning. My reservation said pick up at airport, but the address was to the Naples train station. It was surmised that the car I requested was not at the airport just the train station. I ended up taking a taxi (5
