Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything was great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: In a trip with a wide variety of hotel styles this was my wife's favourite - before and after the stay. Not that easy to get to, once you see it further round the lake you're tempted to say idyllic. Ahd as the stay progresses you're unlikely to change your minds. One word of warning; don't be tempted to save a little and take a rear facing room. They're smaller anyway, but I won brownie points by doing a quick upgrade to a lake facing room. Well worth the extra view-wise, and significantly more space. Food, service, etc. all up to high levels. And, notably, an internal smoking room right next to the dining/bar area!!.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast and very comfortable hotel with fabulous swimming pool.
Cons: The rooms that face the road are quite noisy if you leave the windows on the tilt for fresh air which we had to as the room was very warm .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is always there to serve and even if a little problem develops they respond and resolve very quickly and act as though they let you down. The property is managed very effectively. The facilities are excellent and details matter and the team at Via Salina understand. They go above and beyond and are excellent ambassadors for Tirol and Austria. The chef and team in the restaurant provide a 5 star experience every meal - they should have a Michelin rating Of course the location is so very beautiful and in the heart of the northwestern Alps! Thanks to the great people of the Via Salina and we will see you again soon!
Cons: having to leave and go home
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and access to the cross-country trail is awesome. Service from members of staff is great. A few bad apples exist, but others make up for it. Pool is ok, sauna and wellness also good. The new rooms are well done... the older ones need some refurbishing (furniture is great, but carpet is not ok - especially since they allow dogs.) breakfast is sufficient - I really liked all the nuts etc for muesli and the juicer to make fresh juice. Tea and Coffee with cakes in the afternoon were tasty, the bar ok for Europe (different standard than in the US or Hotels that have a bar scene of course). Wine list absolutely sufficient.
Cons: Unfortunately they cook with MSG,... so the food does not get a lot of credit from me. I have high standards - I admit -, thought the ideas were good - implementation lacked. The menu for new years was very little food in a 4 hour sitting,... for us unacceptable if there is anyway an additional buffet at midnight. It is a Sport and Wellness Hotel - so we did a lot of sport and than barely any dinner was tough. A major problem was: Friends with two kids (12 and 14) wanted to meet us for coffee. We were not allowed to sit at a table, had to stay at the bar because "children are not allowed". Though dogs were allowed in the dining room at all hours. Sometimes barking and making all kinds of noise. Besides the fact that I think dogs have NOTHING to do in a dining room,... And: dog poop was everywhere along side and in the tracks of the cross-country track,... very annoying!
7.9 Good
Pros: The property is really clean and very nice. The food was also excellent.
Cons: Insufficient parking. All the parking spots were full, hotel staff did not care that there are no parking places in the whole town. As we stayed for a birthday weekend, the staff did not do any birthday decoration or anything and that was disappointing.
