7.1 Good
Pros: The food is good
Cons: Check out at 11 am Check in at 2 pm
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food selection and quality. Perfect location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything really. The rooms are great, spacious and cleaned meticulously everyday! The pool area was clean, not too noisy and no fighting for sun beds. Food was excellent everyday and always something a little different. They did two speciality dinner evenings with entertainment and a different setting (beach area). I think what really makes this place is the staff. All staff from the gardeners to the managers are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are great, but Anna, Kadjadja (I think) and Ali from the entertainment team really helped to make our time special. Cocktails and all drinks were excellent too and all alcohol was branded not local copies like we have experienced in the past. Thanks to everyone at Riu Palace.
Cons: We had to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was the perfect choice for a romantic holiday. The food was consistently very good and dinner on the special event nights were excellent. We couldn't fault the service and it is clear that new management are striving to push standards even higher. There is a lovely stretch of beach which is good for swimming in the sea right in front of the resort. I just wish we didn't have to leave!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food, beach, swimming pool , cleanliness of resort
Cons: Bar service slow , and to separate the smokers from non smoking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the professionalism of the staff. The restaurants and the facilities. We come to Nungwi every year and this hotel is by far the best we stayed at. It exeeded our expectations and the management is beyond great. Recommend this hotel 100%.
Cons: Everything was perfect
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The best things about this place are a)the location and b) the native staff. The portion of the beach that the hotel is on is beautiful and the staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. The water pressure in the shower was also very strong and there is abundant hot water. The day trip to Mnemba for snorkeling was quite nice.
Cons: The food could have been better. Everything is buffet style and so there are many options, most of which are mediocre. I think they should plan on halving the amount of options and doubling the quality of the food taste-wise. I thought the check in experience could have been better. It was also a bit overwhelming in terms of how many people are staying there, so if you are looking for more of a secluded experience this is not the best place to stay (consider Tikitam Palms on the east coast of the island)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food, the employees and the facilities
Cons: Wifi signal was really bad at our rooms
6.3 Good
Pros: Great staff, good location.
Cons: the hotel needs update and refurbishing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - The view... Is Just stunning - Special thanks to Mr Hamadi for making my wedding anniversary a beautiful memory. Special thanks also to Mr Narayan and Mr Ghosh.
Cons: One of the employees behaved improperly the evening I was celebrating my wedding anniversary. He wanted to express to me that he was not "happy" because I was few minutes late from my reservation time...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely place with really nice people, good food and clean & confortable bedroom. This is a good place for relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful relaxed atmosphere. Great swimming pools. Rooms very clean.
Cons: 5% surcharge when using credit/debit card considering that’s how the majority of travelers pay. Would be great to have tea and coffee making facilities in room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing, so helpful, friendly, looked. Like they were happy to be at work. Room was amazing. Whole place was spotless. Really relaxed atmosphere. We attendee on honeymoon and it was absolutely lovely. Breakfast was awesome.
Cons: Was 20-30 minute walk go main part of town. Felt a little far out. But we enjoyed the walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at this hotel with my son, teenager. We liked the room which was big, nice and clean. Swimming pool and the area around was also really nice. Food at the restaurant and wine was very good quality. The hotel is located in a nice place, it is 20 mins waling to the center, with a local atmosphere around (football court, ‘hand-made’ fitness club). The walks to the center via beach or road were pleasure for us as we could see some real life of the town. The beach at the right side from the hotel of the hotel was very charming, a bit similar to Paje. Staff was really supporive for organising or advising about your spare time.
Cons: I would be happy to have a more diverse breakfasts, as I have allergy to eggs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice lodge, comfortable room, clean bathroom The staff is super
Cons: The beach in front the lodge....too much seaweed. But in 20 minutes by walk you can find beautiful beaches
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything have met our expectations: the room which was lovely, the location near the sea and the city center, the excellent breakfast, the very kind staff... I warmly recommand Aluna to everyone who wants to visit Nungwi
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The thing that I liked most about Aluna was the kindness of the staff and the beautiful room with the terrace and the view of the garden and the swimming pool
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, a 15 min walk along the beach from the busiest concentration of Nungwi hotels - we enjoyed the more relaxed location. Food and drinks were great, friendly staff and Karolien & Tom are awesome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the best time ever in this beautiful lodge. The staff couldn’t have been better. They were always interested for us and they make sure you are having a good time. Definitely, the place is amazing but what really makes it awesome is the entire Aluna team. We really hope to come back soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We wanted something different than your standard touristy resort on the beach and Anita's place was exactly that! Cute, clean and in a perfect location. Beach is 5 seconds away and I loved the short walk on the beach to the area restaurants. Anita was very helpful and nice; she told us about the locals, gave recommendations on places to go and eat and helped us with transportation.

Pros: Location, cleanliness, breakfast, pool and staff

9.6 Excellent
Cons: We arrived in the early hours of the morning, it would have been great if the receptionist was on the desk to check us in immediately.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location out of the hords of other tourists. Bike rental. Every evening the different location of dinner. Sometimes the entretaiment. Big pool. Nice green garden inside.
Cons: The hotel didnt accept our cc, so we paid by bank transfer, but hotel didnt get the money, the reservation was canceled....so the communication was poor. Sometimes we had to wait long time for the dinner, more than one hour.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Excellent spacious rooms
Cons: There was no beach
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The gardens were well maintained. The gym had adequate equipment. the view was beautiful.
Cons: The room was not clean. I found previous guests dirty slippers in the couch. There was no internet in the room - and any internet in the common areas had really weak connection. The phone in the room was not working. had to complain 5 times before it was properly fixed. how can you offer room service when there is no phone in the room. had to wake up my kid to go and order room service at the bar 2 times. Both times wrong food or incomplete food arrived. had to go up again and complain. Sate arrived without sate sauce. and the club sandwich without the potato wedges which were substituted with crisps. generally the food was sub par. had received wrong orders in the restaurant a couple of times and one time had to leave the restaurant at the jetty without dinner because it took too long to get served. other people were receiving their main courses even though they arrived 20 minutes after us. some staff don't speak any English and when approached would not make any effort to direct you to someone who would help. many facilities in the hotel were not functioning. the jacuzzi doesn't work. the ladder into the pool is broken and is a health and safety hazard. the kids pool is not sufficiently protected. the kids can jump into the big pool from the small pool - a drop of about 1.5 m. the kids club - awful experience. although there are plenty of toys majority are broken. the broken plastic bits are left on the floor and are a hazard. the whole place looks like has never been cleaned and I found bits of old food mixed with children toys. There is no sign-in procedure so even if you tell them that you are at the restaurant should your kid need you they will not come to get you if your kid cries. staff left kids unattended even though there is a swimming pool right outside the kids club. other staff were found napping on the floor. when approached they didn't speak English and would not be able to assist the kids should they require help.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was fabulous with a lovely beach. The tide tends to go high and low quite often. It’s better to wear water shoes while walking on the beach as it’s quite rocky and full of sea urchins. The rooms were very spacious with clean bathrooms. Nice big pools. They had a nice play room for kids with a separate pool. We enjoyed walking around the property with its lovely walkways and lush greenery all around. The staff were very courteous especially the lady in the kids play area.
Cons: The pools were huge but unfortunately had salt water in them, so I didn’t enjoy it much. There were too many flies during breakfast and lunch; they need to find some way to keep the flies away from the food or keep the food covered. The breakfast spread could be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The amazing staff were out of this world, so friendly and accommodating. The villas by the sea are amazing.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing experience overall. Beauty of location only surpassed by the staff’s service, warmth and helpfulness. Breakfast, lunch and dinners with high quality and enough variation. Celebrated my wife’s birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special and it will be a memory for life. They arranged an amazing upgrade with a private dinner. Thank you
Cons: I had to think long and hard to find something that could improved. Maybe if they had snorkeling masks for children it would have been perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the service, location, cleanliness, amenities and really accommodating staff all around. We had zero complaints and were treated to a very special time by everyone. Turn down service was always on point as well, everyone with a smile. The food had variety and a grand buffet dinner under the stars on the night we arrived and a stunning intimate crayfish dinner when we departed. Very special. The views are simply to die for.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool is stunning!
5.4 Okay
Cons: The receptionist was extremely rude to us! He was shouting at the top of his voice and was being very aggressive. We felt very intimidated and not safe

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff courtesy, prompt service and quality continetial dishes and entertainment
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good and so was the staff in the coffeeshop and restaurant. Though the happy hour drinks hardly had any alcohol!! Had to take them each time back to the bar to pour in the right amount.
Cons: Front desk. Very rude. Attitude of take it or leave it. We had booked 3 rooms for our family. We were given all 3 in complete different directions and on request for having them close by, the front desk was very unsympathetic and to the extent that we had to find our own rooms and facilities in the hotel and bags reached the rooms after 2 hours of check in. Extremely unprofessional and not customer friendly. Also couldn't get over the system of wearing a colour band through out our stay. Felt like I was in Disneyland. Mr Sandeep , who had just joined the hotel was very helpful and tried to make our stay as good as was possible. Very small setup and no beach as such to go to. It was a cliff like stone wall with the sea after the wall. Lots of weed in the sea outside the hotel. In all a very rundown hotel with ordinary bathrooms and common areas outside the rooms with paint peeling off. But the worst is the journey from nungwi village to the hotel which is only made of massive potholes never seen in my life. Its 30 minutes of hell ride from the village.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, Front of the beach, located in tourist safe area, perfect breakfast, different daily menu for lunch and dinner with life band
Cons: The hotel located at beautiful beach front but don't have a private beach,, the locals at the beach are too disturbing and annoying, most of tourists try to avoid heading the beach because of them, hotel front beach has no privacy and relaxation.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I expected from the hotel much more, I mean, it's a Hilton partner. Position is the worst, I don't suggest it at all due to the bad smell that come from the sea and all the vendors in front of the hotel the whole day stressing everyone who wants to relax. Kendwa is the best beach position. I had an All inclusive package which is not very convenient, the quality of the food is not good, pretty cheap. The staff is very nice, they are very welcoming and always smiling and try to understand how they can help you.
Cons: Almost everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel resort is placed in North of the island in Nungwi and has direct access to the beach. I have to mention the super attention from employees that were really attentive and looking for us to have the most comfortable stay. We went with a five year child and she has a wonderful stay. The swimming pool is fantastic, and we had booked with all inclusive, being surprised that some drinks (like beer are included), so it has been good value. Food and fish was really good for us, and buffet is not huge as we have experienced in other hotels, but quality was wonderful for us. The fish was spectacular!
Cons: It's true that facilities are quite old, but all is clean and well-maintained.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beaches were clean and maintained. The service was great. Warm, fresh cookies on arrival greatly appreciated.
7.5 Good
Pros: + Lovely Beach. + Great Pool with Dolphin Bar. + Big Rooms + Friendly Staff + Good Variety of food. - High price - Very Few activities inside and outside the resort organized by the property.
Cons: - High price - Very Few activities inside and outside the resort organized by the property.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The sea amazing colour Very good spa
Cons: The access by road to the hotel is terrible (to avoid if you have back issues). Quality of breakfeast food should really be improved
5.1 Okay
Pros: Beach front,To get to location from Airport will take 1hr 30min.Roads are not good ,you go through village not great travel at night roads are very bumpy. Not worth $250 per night with breakfast only
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality was incredible! Staff always friendly.
Cons: Food was good but not great. Could have been a better selection on the all inclusive package. Proper gin for example or at least one good whiskey. If you’re a beer drinker you will be fine. That being said if I did it all over again I’d still take the all inclusive package - saves you a lot of money at the end.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful beach , very friendly stuff , amazing reception, food is tasty but nothing special The room is clean , lots of space but bathroom is not so clean pretty old and all the sewage system needs a renovation.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Booked Doubletree Nungwi but the Kayak stuffed up the booking and created a reservation with a hotel in a different city.
Cons: Wasted over an hour on the phone to Kayak who refused to find us an alternate hotel in Nungwi. Still waiting for a refund. Terrible booking experience. A good way to ruin a holiday.

Cons: nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: We stayed in delux room with a small private pool and easy access to beach. The room is extremly lovely with good decoration, always fresh and clean. The hotel is located a little bit remote to social life, suiatable for couples. Food and drinks are OK and fairly priced.
Cons: The staff is very slow and very quite, they say do it in 15 minutes, becomes 45 minutes. The barmaid does not know how to make coctails. The cleaning in the restaurant is not enough (the ash trays are full for 2 days)There is tide season in early August so can not swim, pools are small

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location , staff very friendly .
Cons: The pool area was tired and in need of some tic.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pools 4 of them
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole holiday experience was fantastic. The service was great and we enjoyed a most relaxing time. The meals were also great and the Christmas eve dinner was exceptional.
Cons: The first day of our stay was marred by an exceptionally rude guest who accused us of stealing his pool/beach towel and pool loungers. It turned out that, without our knowledge, the pool attendant had taken the guest's towel and moved the loungers for our use. We noticed that contrary to the hotel booking rules this rude individual (with wife and one child) helped himself on a daily basis to 3 loungers in the shade and two loungers in the sun. On the one day, they did not use the loungers for 6 hours. Rules must be enforced for guest convenience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing. wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is 100% amazing. There are 4-5 pools with swim up bars and a private beach, where people can't really bother you. On the public side of the beach, tour guides try to hackle you to buy a tour - both good and bad - it's easy to book something, but sometimes you get tired of saying "No Thank you." The staff are more than friendly, they remembered my name in the dining room. The rooms are spectacular with more footage than needed. Volleyball court to play, bocce ball. The food also was quite amazing.
Cons: Loved everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Its Africa. Dont expect real 5 European stars but the hotel is really good. Beautiful beach, nice swimming pools and friendly staff. Rooms need a bit renewal but they are still ok. Food is fine, only sea food is missing - i have found only octopus through 7 days stay.
Cons: The road from airport to hotel is horrible. Last 500 m is local road and the hotel should inmediatelly invest in it. If You pay 500 usd per night You might expect at least safe road!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beach
Cons: Food offer was not great - wine on the all inclusive list not good at all. Towels and sheets not 100% clean. Poor customer service. Despite requesting 2 rooms close together at the time of booking - our children’s room was in a different block. Management just shrugged and said they couldn’t do anything but offered to move us to different rooms the following day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is very large, so my family (parents and three grown up kids) stayed for two weeks and we didn't get bored just by staying at the hotel, taking walks on the beach and renting a boat three times to snorkel on the islands nearby (I swam with dolphins in the wild (they just showed up out of the blue), there are lots of live corals and beautiful fish and sea turtles (these are rare though)). All inclusive makes life really easy and the staff is very very nice. The rooms (ocean suite) were very large with great bathrooms and overlooking the beach and ocean. There are so many pools for young and old and one directly overlooking the ocean. The beach beds are everywhere, so you have a choice to sit by the beach (not on the public beach though which is good because you feel your things are protected by the hotel Masai guards :) ) or near any of the pools. I did feel safe every where though but it feels great to see Masai guards everywhere in the hotel as well and also exotic haha. The beach water was super warm and clear and the tide does not affect the swimming at this hotel which is important because the other top hotel on the end of Nungwi village which we were considering basically doesn't have a beach when its high tide and no water when its low tide. It seems like only the area around Royal Zanzibar (going down to Kendwa and up a bit) isn't impacted by swimming quality at low tide. What was good about this beach was also that it wasn't too close to the central public beach (all beaches are public, but the hotel is not in the busy public area, which is great). There is hotel entertainment for everyone. Yoga and stretching on the terrace overlooking the sea for me; beach volley ball, soccer, and waterpolo for my brothers; local music and performances in the evening for my parents (all free of charge). There is a spa beauty treatment (no sauna) right above the beach - great relaxing massage with ocean waves in the background.
Cons: Generally everything was really good. If I had to make some comments it would be - the rooms have aircon which works great, but it would be nice to have normal ceiling fans too, simply to circulate the air without having to turn on the aircon. The food was generally very good with a lot of choices between fresh fruits, salads, meat, fish, octopus, squid, etc... however if people are expecting typical bland European or Western hotel food, its not like that anywhere in Zanzibar. Its more African /Asian influence. There are lots of juices available, but it would be great if more of them were fresh. And the only real improvement that I could suggest would be to cool the main restaurant more, e.g. install ceiling fans or more aircon.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is amazing, regardless the 90’ trip from airport staff are friendly and willing to help
Cons: Badly maintained, and F&B is a complete disaster. Not a 5 star at all.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: The staff was unprofessional and the service was just bad!! The water in the water polo pool was just 1/4 inch away from the electricity socket. This hotel is way too over rated! The beach was packed with annoying local beach boys. Very bad internet connection and the room had mosquitoes! The quality of the room was bad. The food was ok. The meat and fish was definitely not fresh!! Half of the price would be just acceptable, but not a cent more!!
6.3 Good
Pros: They have a nice pool and they have a wonderful beach.
Cons: For all inclusive it was WAY over priced. They served us raw pork and their fish was way over cooked. Bar service was incredibly slow and they ran out of tonic water, ice and other items. The grounds need a lot of maintenance.

Pros: Staff and rooms were really nice, very spacious rooms with good day light capacity.
Cons: Nothing really, is perfect for a few nights to relax but there is not too much around and it’s a bit of a walk to nungwi but that makes it more quiet.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Extremely kind staff. Beautiful pool, great food.
Cons: You can trust beach boys if you don't want to pay doubled fares for trips. A little far from main village and famous beaches.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: view from the pool during high tide - service at the restaurant + bar - the room was cleaned every day
Cons: WiFi - slow connection and gets disconnected very often - 15-20 min walk to Nungwi city center
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view and the people
Cons: The roads to the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed the fact that Warere Beach is on the edge of Nungwi, so had the benefits of being close to a large village without being as busy as the hotels located in the centre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the peaceful and beautiful location of this hotel - at high tide, the waves come right up to the edge of the property and at low tide you can walk on the beach and explore tide pools or swim or snorkle if you want to! The pool is lovely with shady trees and plenty of loungers and the restaurant serves a range of delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another lovely thing about the hotel is the staff - they all, without exception, were polite, friendly and always made an effort to make our stay as pleasant as could be!
Cons: Nothing!
7.9 Good
Pros: Great and friendly staff, quiet family hotel, not the place if you look for a party forget the seafood, best item on the menu: gazpacho soup :-)
Cons: the road to the hotel is a nightmare, especially with kids a quick walk to restaurant / hotel / market next door is not possible. taxi service is cheap and available but very uncomfortable. Thats the only reason why we would not go back there, which is really a shame. Lunch and Dinner menu is always the same
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything! Really can’t complain. The scenery, garden, pool and beach are stunning. The room was comfortable and quiet. The food was enjoyable and the massage was exceptional. Friendly staff and the guests were all nice too. Definitely would come again!!
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Location is a little secluded, but only a taxi ride away from good nightlife.
5.0 Okay
Cons: no water in the shower
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel is quiet, the service was very good.
Cons: It is not a 4 star hotel. The beach at the hotel is not recommended, a small bay, lots of seaweed smells at low tide! The fee for the use of the Mastercard of 5% and the city tax was unacceptable !!!

Pros: The quiet and safe oasis of those wonderful gardens have made our stay a marvelous one. We stayed in the Desert Rose Suite and had a wonderful time. The toasters on the balcony are such a sweet touch. The staff are very friendly and well trained. We thank Elizabeth and Seif for their warm welcome and the safe and beautiful haven they have created.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staf. Always ready to help. Great location. Daily Yoga classes - provided by Tara South - were fantastic. Enjoyed every minute.
Cons: Nothing. All great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and so is the owner of the hotel. This property has a nice bar, cool pool, good breakfast and great rooms.
Cons: The wifi signal could have been slightly better.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious with large balcony. Breakfast served at your room was excellent, great service. The gounds and pool were well maintained, lots of tropical trees and plants. Food at the beachside restaurant was good quality though maybe a little limited choice. Location was very good in terms of a choice of many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. All the staff incuding the owners were friendly and cheerfull, always willing to answer questions and deal with any minor issues.
Cons: The hotels beach area was poor, not many sun loungers and just one broken umbrella, though there were a couple of loungers under a tree that we used most days. A couple of issues we had seemed to take an age to resolve, nothing to serious and to be fair it seemed the same where ever we were in Tanzania & Zanzibar.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was great
Cons: The facility was very tired and needed a good spruce up. At first glance it did not look like the photos, The gardens needed a lot of work, lawns wern't mowed and the pool was dirty. It's a expensive place for what it was. They also charge 5% for the use of your credit card. The breakfast was ordinary. The entrance to the facility was through a shanty town with terrible roads if you could call them that.
4.6 Okay
Pros: our room was big. the location is good and the stuff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: if you are taller than 1,75 don't stay here. the bed is really uncomfortable for tall people. internet is not working at some part of the hotel. breakfast was not good for a 4 star hotel. at the check out when we asked to pay by credit card, we were asked to pay %5 comission.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Very little except reasonable location
Cons: Dirty and dilapidated! The bedding was dirty and the welcome drink was full of midges and insects. The first room had a dirty toilet and the second room not much better! The sink did not work! Lots of mosquitoes due to overgrown hedges surrounding the rooms. Would have checked out immediately had they not already taken monies from my bank account. Overpriced and much better options. Needs a complete makeover and a LOT OF MONEY invested in the property.
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful view in a stunning location, very relaxing vibe. Great to have breakfast outside your room. Friendly owners and staff.
Cons: Rooms need a make over, sheets had marks, bathroom had mould.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location ,nice atmosphere ,excellent team to take care of customers ,I strongly advice

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: overpriced hotel. genarally i had a terrible experience.no water untill 22.30....not reccomended
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Away from the tourist area but close enough to get to. Room was a good size. Bed very large. Serviced everyday with new sheets and towels. Has been renovated recently and a little bit to finish.
Cons: The breakfast menu needs work but adequate. Constant work on the 3rd floor and the pool was a distraction and a disruption.
6.3 Good
Pros: Property is located at walking distance from Kendwa beach which is really awesome.
Cons: The breakfast was poor. Most of the items listed in the restaurant menu were not available. Minimal choice of food and beverages. No alcohol is sold on the territory of the property. The bed wasn't comfortable at all and bed linen was old and torn. The staff is extremely slow and poorly trained. Most of the time we had to take our lunch and dinner next door at Doubletree by Hilton.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Location. Right on the beach. Best strip of Nungwy Beach (close to dhow building site and local fish market,5 min to turtle acquarium).
5.4 Okay
Pros: Next door to The Double Tree Hotel !! The staff very good, for what they have been trained for. The grounds & pool decent.

Pros: Great location. Very lovely and friendly staff. We were made very comfortable and welcome
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all, the manager Mr.Said it very kind, smart and generous man. He runs the hotel perfectly. Also, all the personnel are very kind, smiling and helpful. They immediately answer all your questions. What s more, they all are ready to make you satisfied. I recommend the hotel.
Cons: Maybe, there would be more choices on the restaurant menu. But still it is enough.

Pros: We stayed with the half board option and the food was good, breakfast was the standard Zanzibari fare of fruit and eggs, All very good. Situated away from the hustle and bustle Nungwi beach clubs. Great views from deck.
Cons: Rooms slightly on small side, but one only needs it for sleeping. A kettle in the room would have been a good idea.

Cons: Bar closes very early (like 9pm) Internet only available in public places No entertainment, and also no babysitting services for couples that want to seek entertainment outside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay here. We had stayed on the north coast before but this resort was much nicer. The place was away from the crowded beach resorts, the price (which included breakfast and dinner), the rooms were very nice. Service was also excellent.
Cons: No beach during high tides that are directly at the hotel. It's a short walk down the street to a public beach.

Pros: Sweet property with lovely Forest gardens and pool and a lounging/sitting area above the ocean. ideal location along the main route and near the ocean. Rooms were basic but consistent with photos.
Cons: Beds were very hard - mattress and pillows probably need replacing
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Really Nice hotel , my girlfriend and I we enjoyed 3 nights in langi langi. The staff is super friendly, especially the managers. Good location and is very clean !
Cons: Nothing in special

Cons: Food was boring and very average
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location .Very nice and helpful staff
7.5 Good
Pros: Location Staff Food
Cons: Bed was not comfortable nor new Matress very hold and humid
4.6 Okay
Pros: The staff was nice and very welcoming.
Cons: The cost of this structure is too high for what they offer. The rooms are quite old, with small bathrooms. They are extremely central, meaning that there is not a lot of privacy. Breakfast is low quality. My husband and I were in a garden view room, which welcomed us with loads of mosquitos. As I am pregnant and can take no malaria prevention pills, I was quite worried. The staff was really nice and sprayed the room after our arrival, but the smell was so bad that I was sick all night. We had to leave earlier than expected and received no refund. Very bad management. They aim at big numbers with low quality. There are far better accommodations slightly out of town that are 100 times better and still allow you to live the Nungwi experience.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location.
Cons: A bit run down, in need of rejuvenation. Mattress very average.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: everything, but the most was the personal, they were very friendly helpful
Cons: just the wifi but it was ONLY that, The rest was perfect

7.9 Good
Pros: Location is great, next to a beautiful beach were you can walk along during low tide. Staff was very friendly even some of the staff would need better training at reception. Spa was very nice and very friendly staff. There are quite lots of pool areas around the resort. The sunbath area is private only guests can access, which is nice to avoid sellers in main beach. Sunsets are the best!
Cons: Food could have been better quality, but was fine. We would have appreciated an animation / activities team at the resort, especially at nights, as there is not much to do around. They do some shows but not every night (twice a week). All included deal is the best option.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A lovely tranquil hotel. The staff really went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable. Prior to our stay we had issues with the credit card it was booked on and the hotel really helped us out with regards to payment. We went for full board and we are so glad we did as the food was delicious, we ate breakfast lunch and dinner there every day and never felt the need to go anywhere else. We heard other places were quite expensive for food so we really felt we got value for our money with regards to food. There was always nice entertainment in the evenings and the staff were always so friendly. Rooms were cleaned everyday.
Cons: It is a very quiet hotel and not much nightlife near if that is what you want. We wanted a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. The gym that is available is very old, hot and small, equipment has not been updated in years. But other than that is was a really pleasant stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, room was clean with very great bed, although lettle short for my. Staff was great and forthcomming, helped us organize a dinner on a beach. Would come back for sure
Cons: Only downside are locals on the beach, following you every step and trying to sell you stuff. Very iritating, especially after few days
7.9 Good
Pros: Loved the private beach although the beach sellers were a bit much. Great Staff and food (apart from breakfast). Nice clean rooms and well run operation. Every request was met promptly and without any fuss.
Cons: Beverage quality options could have been better selection. Items missing off bar menues became frustrating. Breakfast egg station chef under trained and struggled with guest requests. Buffet design to be revisited to avoid log jams at live station. The access road is a disgrace and is the first impression of the property. Maybe all properties can contribute to better upkeep of the road??
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Incredible people, great food, lovely property. Can't ask for more
Cons: Mosquitoes The place needs a spray through every evening, apparently.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Villa was spacious and nice room. Food was good The beach was very nice and calm.
Cons: I was expecting a smaller hotel, not a big resort The sea is full of sea urchins. I am glad we saw them doing snorkel the first day, but I feel like it is something the hotel should have advice us.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location of the resort is fantastic. The beach in front was the best along the strip of beach
Cons: The resort is tired and needs some upgrading, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Although the staff tried their best, management was very unfriendly and training of staff seems non existing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: First of all- big love for Franchesko and Abbas, you guys made our vacation amazing! The food is amazing, the location of the sun beds, the guards that keep away all the beach boys on the beach, the show on monday and the african dinner on friday.
Cons: They dont change the bed sheets they just flip them The water in the shower sometime stop working
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Room close to the beach.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The property is located on one of the best stretches of the infamous Nungwi beach, with stunning vies of sunrise and sunset from the east coast of Zanzibar. The main swimming pool area was a favorite for the family but the towel service let us down.
Cons: The check-in process took 30 minutes despite having booked and confirmed via booking.com. As my family (parents and two kids both under 6 years)offloaded from the airport transport, the Masasai porters didn’t even bother to help us with the luggage. We selected a sea facing villa, which one of the more expensive options, but to our surprise the room was stuffy, small and very aged. The worst part of our experience was the food, having paid over US $ 1,000 for a three night full board. We were forced to eat out everyday because the buffet selection was incredibly poor, only one option of sea food, no chicken and cheap beef was the order of the day. We noticed that the hotel catered for largely Italian clientele, so we decide to try the pasta instead of going to other hotel. Once against were disappointed, they didn’t even have parmesan cheese! What surprised us the most was the value for money, we have been to Zanzibar more than five times but this was our worst experience. For the same amount of money one can get a superior experience from food to rooms at several of the hotels located on the same location. For example, we opted to eat out at the Z Hotel and Langilangi which are a stone throw away from this facility. Checking out turned out to be a nightmare, once again it was a 30 minute ordeal. The owner/manager claimed they didn’t accept debit cards despite having confirmed my booking using one. They also insisted that the rate quoted on my confirmation was slightly lower than what they charge, I obliged since it was insignificant.

Pros: Staff is the best. Views to the sea. Location. Seafood is delicious.
Cons: Breakfast could be much better. You pay in cash when you get there, so they should tell booking to change what it is advice about the payment method
7.9 Good
Pros: The restaurant has great view, and also great grilled seafood at a reasonable price. The hotel staff is very nice.
Cons: The free wi-fi offered by the hotel doesn't allow to use Netflix (and probably other streaming websites). I didn't like the fact that there was no information about it. I don't think it's fair to advertise free wi-fi is streaming is blocked.

6.7 Good
Pros: The location was great! It was also nice that the hotel arranged us transportations with a decent price.
Cons: The pool was pretty disgusting and it was one of the main reasons to choose this hotel so it was a disappointment. Also the breakfast was pretty poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved every single thing about the hotel. It is superbly located with the beech sand so many great restaurants nearby. The very plus of our stay was the staff especially Sebastian and Ole. You could not find more adorable and helpful people. The breakfast is also delicious!! We highly recommend this hotel! Lila and Sophia
Cons: absolutely nothing!!

Pros: The net around the bed
Cons: The shower: the water runs very slow
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: the architect plan of the location.
Cons: no restaurant, no service, very poor breakfast, no food facilities except breakfast, no WiFi (internet), no bed side lamps, no TV, they give us another room not the booked one, max 5 guests
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time Kelvin very helpful Thank you
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is great, the location is perfect-few min walk to the beach and all restaurants and bars. The cleaning was impeccable, bed linen changed every day. Sebastian is a real treasure for this place-he absolutely does everything to make the stay of their guest most comfortable.
Cons: The restaurant facilities needs improvement, especially when it comes to dinner choices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place is really quiet and also well maintained . the staff is friendly and very nice. Me and my partner had a great time, I the highlight was the breakfast which was amazing
Cons: The swimming pool was not clear and quiet dirty....
4.6 Okay
Pros: The welcome we got when we arrived was very warm. The bed was very nice and the a/c unit worked well compared to other locations. The staff were friendly but the swimming pool was a little basic but acceptable. The fruit and breakfast were very good and the service provided by Sebastian (chef) and Teddy was very good.
Cons: The hotel is not on the beach as the website pics suggest. It is 3-5 minutes walk from the beach and this might be in the small print on the website. We were the last guests at the end of the tourist season and so there was a lack of basic essentials such as milk outside of breakfast time. There was no tea, coffee or creamer in the bedrooms. And most critically there was no bar service or any drink refreshments available. The kitchen staff did their best to accommodate our wishes but they were clearly constrained by Management on what they could purchase.

Pros: Kedves vendeglatok, kozel az ocean. Huto, legkondi. Good staff, near the ocean. Refrigator and aircondition.
Cons: Reggeli egyhangú. The breakfast is monotone.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place was good value for money and well located in the middle of almost places. The rooms are set back from the beach but the Reatuarant is right on the beachfront. They have fridges in each room which is nice to buy your own drinks from local shop and chill. Breakfast was good. For me the location was great as away from bigger hotels but still really close to everything else. Also Aircon in rooms!
Cons: Shower made a big mess on floor and was always wet. Towels were Torn and need to be replaced with new ones.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Good located right onf the beach
Cons: Beds are really not comfortables, room is basic It's expensive for what it is.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location right on the beach and near other bars restaurants and hotels. Room was safe and clean, a bit basic but the water was always hot
Cons: Breakfast you had a choice of fruit and toast and omelette. There was a lot of shares pots eg sugar jam butter that could have been a bit cleaner
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Their is no hot water, it was fine for us as the weather was so hot, could be a problem during winter months though.
4.2 Okay
Pros: I think the property is over charging their bathrooms smell and very old taps are leaking ,they don’t clean the rooms only if you request they are no basic things like toilet paper, beds not comfortable.I witnessed guests complaining and leaving to go and stay somewhere else. Break fast was toast and eggs for the rest of our stay ,funny part if you ask for 2 pans cake no egg They don’t inform you only get to know when you ask. All the tables you have to share sugar, milk even hot water as they are not enough, The only thing which I enjoyed and liked is that the property is right on the beach and they provide beach resting bed.
4.0 Okay
Pros: We arrived at Union Beach Bungalows, and they told us they made a booking error. A man arrived and they said we must follow him and they'll find somewhere for us to stay. They took us through people's properties and into the back of someone's garden to a room. We refused to stay there. They then took us to another room more central. This was not what we booked but we had no other option but to stay there.
Cons: Leaking ceiling in bathroom and not what we booked.
4.6 Okay
Cons: The breakfast is so bad ! And the stuff working in the restaurant as well .
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Tons of mold in the room (they painted over the walls so you can only smell it), which makes it impossible to breathe so you have to sleep with open windows. Outside it is very loud at night - lots of Russians getting drunk and being noisy. Got barely any sleep. Bathroom was a joke- yellowish toilet seat full of wholes, the flush didn’t work. Everything was very rusty and no place to hang the showerhead so you have to hold it while showering. Bad wifi. The staff in the breakfast restaurant was nice (except the guy hitting on me sendings me kisses as soon as my partner left which was very unprofessional) but very slow, so it was hard to plan things in the morning bc breakfast took ages. When I asked if I could have just a glass of water instead of tea of coffee they refused, which is ridiculous for a hotel of this price (for Tanzania this is a lot, I’ve stayed in places for half the price and they where palaces in comparison - even on Zanzibar). Again, the staff is nice but I feel like they need better management. All in all I feel like the owners try to take out as much money as possible with the least effort possible- they don’t seem to care about the guests.
6.3 Good
Pros: Zanzibar is very beautiful and weather is amazing. However, lodging is expensive comparing to other costs in the island.
