8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful- beach is gorgeous.
Cons: We had a wonderful stay and the staff was terrific. On the final evening we were greeted by a somewhat rude man at the restaurant. He waited on us in the beginning and acted like we were a bother to him. Otherwise, the rest of the staff went above and beyond each time we dined in the restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!! . The place, the amenities, every detail at the room and the staff was so friendly and willing to attend us anytime. (The brand of shampoo and conditioner you have in the bathroom is great).
Cons: I can say the matress we got felt like old, even though we had a restful night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We have now been in Costa Rica for nearly two weeks and this was our fifth hotel. It is by far the best (much better than Rio Perdido). Large room, excellent shower, double sink, lots of storage for clothes. Big seating area, private outside space with a couple of sun loungers. We have an Ocean view room and the view is great. The beach is the best I’ve ever seen. The gardens and pools are superb and it often feels as if we have the place to ourselves. Food is fine, rather than good, in line with what we have found elsewhere in CR. Staff are all excellent
Cons: The list is far shorter and I am being super critical:- Food could be more interesting. We stayed here 3 nights and ate here every night. If we were staying longer we would have had some meals elsewhere. Sun-beds under the palm trees look old and need replacing. There are signs that the rooms will need to be revamped at some time in the future, but all minor stuff.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Super atmosphere, a lot of private places and nearly an empty beach
Cons: Missing curtains in all guest rooms and full sun starting at 6 am
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Food offer in restaurant Alma
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Nice pools, nice villa, excellent breakfast, good restaurant.. Amazing beach!
Cons: Nothing
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Really calm and quiet area. Beautiful grounds, wonderful service. We loved the views and the personal pool.
Cons: The food isn't amazing, but with enough options you shouldn't get too tired of it. There were some bugs in our room but it's the jungle baby, you'll find some bugs. We even had a small crab in our room one night, which was funny.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is outstanding! Ocean view here means you can walk into the ocean from your room which is actually like an apartment!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a spur of the moment reservation and we were very pleasantly surprised by this place ae it’s energy, beach and accommodations. So calming and relaxing atmosphere along with good food pretty much invisible staff. Feels like the two of us had an Iceland to our selves for one day. Thank you
Cons: Not sure
7.1 Good
Pros: The Hotel was beautiful with nice different coulers all over. It was also very nice art on the Walls. The location att the beach was amazing.
Cons: The room we had booked for a family of four had 2 beds that was really narrow ( ca 1,20 m). We think this room was more for 2 persons. The room didn’t had curtains so you woke up around 6 o’clock
Clandestino Beach Resort - Parrita - Beach

8.7 Excellent (736 reviews)
C$ 265+
Overview Reviews
When you a stay at Clandestino Beach Resort in Parrita, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Palo Seco Beach and Isla de Palo Seco. Featured amenities include express check-in, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The drive to Clandestino was further off the road than we expected but walking along the long stretch of beach with no crowds at sunset made it worth it. The facilities are nice enough but the hotel seems better for families than couples; the pool was mostly for the children and it is the center of the complex.
Cons: The grounds and rooms are stylish and comfortable but everything felt a little rough around the edges and neglected for the price point. Our coffee pot had the previous guests old coffee left inside, coffee mugs were chipped, the breakfast buffet was the worst one we came across on our trip, the dinner service was painfully slow because they were understaffed. It took over an hour to get our dinner, and even though the servers were nice and apologetic, you would think the hotel would know how many staff they need to serve the guests at their hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and comfortable. The beach was beautiful and really enjoyed walking it but stayed in shallow water because of rip tide warnings. The sunsets were amazing.
Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the pool, the bar and sheer sizebof the beach, despite its remoteness from the civilization
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Combination of beach and jungle, wild life can be seen during your stay
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Private, cozy and beautiful location. Close to the city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities, luxurious and comfortable. So close to the beach you can hear and see the ocean at all times. Very relaxing and peaceful. Food was delicious with a nice variety of good wines to choose from. Sunsets were absolutely incredible and a night’s sky covered in stars (very little light pollution), so you can spend hours admiring it.
Cons: This boutique hotel is quite far away from any shops, restaurants or other town activities. But it’s perfect for a getaway vacation if you want to enjoy the sun, beach (or pool) and relax.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Owner was very on top of things.
Cons: Bathrooms could use an upgrade. River rocks are hard to shower on.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super friendly
Cons: Hotel was in good shape but neighboring properties were inconsistent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s far from the beaten path. Very clean, comfortable and boutique. The owner takes effort to make sure place is well maintained. Free breakfast with room is a super plus. Breakfasts are delicious. I lived the tiki breakfast. We booked several rooms. My son cancelled due to virus outbreak, but it was a non refundable, and he lost $800. My daughter and I booked two rooms, but when Costa Rica closed it’s borders, we decided to forfeit $400 each and return to USA. I totally understand her standpoint. They have to survive too. In an uncertain economy. But the resort is beautiful. The food is tasty, the rooms comfortable, if I could I would have stayed a while longer. The sun sets gorgeous, the beach amazing ( can’t swim).one of the other guests fished off the beach and they even cooked it up for him. Super nice place. Just not good time for us with this virus.
Cons: That we had to leave the country earlier than planned
6.8 Good
Pros: We stayed one night at the Clandestino Beach Resort. My husband and I must agree with many of what others have said about this resorts negative reviews. The biggest problem with the resort is the French women who is the owner. If her attitude towards her guest and her employees does not change this resort will not stay in business its just that simple. The resort is pretty much the same as all of the resorts in Costa Rica. unless you are going to an American chain 5 star hotel. One should be prepared for the 20 min. dirt road drive. Once at the resort be prepared for the rather strange layout. The resort is not directly on the beach you must walk across the dirt road to the beach, this is fine however we thought the resort was directly on the beach and its not. The pool area sits in the front of the property and can be seen from the dirt road. All in all the resort is very nice. Our room was clean, smelled musty-normal for the area. The owner had lots of candles to assist with the smell. The pillows were HORRIBLE. You must have a car so you can get in and out easily. As others have said if your wanting more than communing with nature and reading not much else to do here. This a smoking resort so if you are not a smoker and do not like the smell of cigarette smoke while your trying eat and relax then be advised.
Cons: Rude and unfriendly owner. Cigarette smoke, Food, pillows, warm beer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was beautiful private beach very peaceful.Friendly caring staff. good food and choice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: liked pretty much everything. it was so nice to be a bit secluded from the world after myself and my partner spending 10/11 days driving costa rica’s busier cities. having the beach so close, the pool. the private rooms. didn’t want to leave
Cons: mini bar drinks were a bit pricy.

Pros: The pool are was delightful. It was easy to get drinks to have by the pool and it is very close to the beautiful beach!!! The grounds are well kept and the room was spotless. The food was abundant. It was difficult to eat our meals they were so large.
Cons: a little expensive, and no local discount
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff. The owner. The location.
Cons: Nothing to say
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, sweet little hotel. Endless, beautiful beach you virtually have to yourself. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Minor thing: Beach chaises need replacement.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent with a private, nearly deserted beach. Staff are very helpful. Restaurant has a Varied menu and the food is good
5.8 Okay
Pros: The property is very isolated (down a dirt road) with access to a nice beach. Would be good for locals if you want to get away, but I wouldn’t recommend for travelers from the US. It was a last minute booking and I failed to research the location.
Cons: Access to the property is via a long dirt road that was in poor condition. It’s an older property which is reflected in the quality of the room and property amenities. There is no cell/mobile service at the location. You only have WiFi access.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked Beso del Viento for one night but could of stayed much longer. This is a perfect place to stay if you want peace and like to cool down. Everything was just perfect, we thought this was one of the top places we stayed in Costa Rica. The rooms and the hotel itself are decorated with so much love. It was clear to us why this is a adults only resort. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless clean. The bathroom was also very nice and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very good and all fresh. The garden was a big highlight for us and the pool is also good, plenty of space to sit or lie outside with good and comfortable deck-beds. The beach is just 200 meters away, you have to walk through the lovely garden and across a small road with no traffic as it is a dirt road. Elisabeth and Bernard are great hosts. We will come back as we enjoyed staying at Beso del Viento.
Cons: To leave this beautiful place.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A superb little boutique hotel run by a French couple Elizabeth and Bernard. The decor of the rooms is charming, reflecting Elizabeth's eye for detail and whimsy , and the whole place is kept spotlessly clean. The hotel and pool sit in a garden beautifully planted with palms and other flowering trees and shrubs, and these are also immaculately tended. A step away, just across the road, is one of the most beautiful beaches you could wish for, with hardy a soul in sight. Bernard prepares a great breakfast with local fruits, scrambled eggs, toast, and smoothies. His first class culinary skills also are on display most evenings with a table d'hote dinner menu, often comprising locally caught fish along with creative sauces and side dishes, followed by equally creative and tasty dessert. All in all, this is the perfect place for a nice quiet and relaxing getaway from the daily grind of city life.
Cons: It would be nice to have tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We’ve had such a lovely comfortable 2night stay here. Beautiful room of great size with private outdoor seating just next to the door. Great pool with nice deckchairs, and well kept garden in which we were lucky enough to spot many iguanas, a chameleon, and even a monkey! If you are in time to reserve dinner, your french hosts can provide you with delicious food. Walk across the road and you’re on the beach where you can watch a breathtaking sunset. Great breakfast.
Cons: If you’re after a genuine Costa Rican stay this is not the place for you. The culture is very french and so is the food (a nice change up from Tican food if you ask me!). Worth mentioning that it’s quite a long non-asphalt road to get to the property but our little rental car did just fine. Also you can’t really swim in the sea here, strong waves and riptides. But the pool makes up for that :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Thanks
Cons: Anything
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a beautiful area! The facilities are charming and of a great quality! The owners are welcoming and professional. Evening meals were excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elizabeth and Bernard run a lovely small family hotel with lovely staff and peaceful location. Bernards superb cooking is well worth enjoying and Elizabeth couldn’t do more to make guests happy. Hotel is close to empty beach that stretches into the distance in both directions. After a swim in the sea you can enjoy the pool in the lovely gardens and watch the pelicans glide past. The room is also comfortable and very clean.
Cons: We tried to have the holiday without a hire car but the hotel is fairly cut off, so you need to book taxis or walk to nearest Restaurant which about 12 minutes walk along beach
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location with a lovely pool set in a sheltered garden. The beach was 2 mins away - goes for miles. Great for walking rather than sitting. Delicious dinner served in the evening but you do need to give the hosts 24 hours notice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved how clean, decorated and beautiful this place is. Not to mention great staff, nice breakfast and on top of it all - how quiet and relaxing this few days were. Owners are doing a great job and I would love to come back again. Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was safe and secluded. The breakfast was pristine and fresh. Be sure to make dinner reservations in advance.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ultimate way of caring for your guests! Most Hotels will tell you this is their aim, but at the Parador, this is truly the case!! We arrived in the middle of the Corona crisis, which hit the Hotels in Costa Rica hard. Instead of downsizing their quality, the manager Jake and all of his staff gave us the extra attention to make us feel safe in these bizzare circumstances! The staff worked very hard during all hours to keep the whole of the resort extra clean and giving us plenty of places where we could clean our hands to avoid contamination. Above all, they where super friendly and helpfull, giving us the feeling of the best care in the world. It must have been hard for all of them not knowing what is going to happen with this crisis, but still, they all put in their best effort to make us very comfortable! At all times!! The chef made the best food ever, breakfast, lunch and dinner! We even got a taste of his specialties that wheren't on the menu! We never ate outside of the resort, because we wanted to enjoy more of the chefs art! The resort was in perfect condition and also the rooms. Very clean, very well taken care off. Big thums up to all the staff spending so much time cleaning and taking care of the beautful gardens. Three swiming pools, a prived monky trail, midget golf, bar in the pool, pooltable, great dining area and much much more, gave us all the daily pleasure of enjoying our perfect Holiday inside a safe resort. The gardens where planted whit lots of natural food sources for all the gorgeous animals you want to see: humming birds, monkeys, sloths, macaws! Because it was uncertain when we were able to fly back to the Netherlands, the manager offered we could stay as long as we want, against a appropriate rate. Nothing, and we do mean nothing we asked was too much for them. They made us feel like Family in a bizar crisis. We want to thank manager Jake and all of the staff for the best stay we had ever!! We will most certainly go back to them!
7.0 Good
Pros: Peaceful hotel with many pools to choose from, secret pool off the map by the restaurant at the back of the hotel. Resident sloth and baby every day, unfortunately we didn't have time to do their own monkey trail, but that is accessible onsite. They car you around the hotel on gold buggies which was a nice touch and give you a cool flannel and juice upon arrival. The drinks were reasonably priced and good. We had Caiparinhas and Piña Coladas. We booked an excursion, horseback riding to a waterfall to swim. Not really a swimmable waterfall but was still beautiful. $75 each and nobody else booked on it so it was private. The tour guide was very friendly, the lunch was traditional type and good and two lovely dogs. The horses were well looked after too. We thought $75 was a little steep as similar excursions in other parts of Costa Rica are half the price but we did book it from within the hotel.
Cons: They were renovating the room next to ours and above ours. This meant having builders walk back and fourth right in front of our room and all day banging. We asked to move rooms, to which they offered us a choice of two downgraded rooms, smaller or smaller beds. They eventually gave us an identical room far away from the construction and a floor higher.I unfortunately cut my nose on the swimming pool seat, they are sticking out from the wall and are the same colour so were hard to see underwater, be mindful of this! The air-conditioning wasn't powerful enough for the size of the rooms, probably underspecified. With two of us in there all night it didn't get to the temperature we set and stayed on all night regardless of being on auto or not. The food portions for lunch in the restaurant were ridiculously small and expensive for a basic menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the property and amenities. A little tricky driving on the narrow road but once there, we never wanted to leave! Oh and make the 10 minute walk to Playa Bisanze. White faces monkeys, sloths, and tons of hermit crabs. Gorgeous.
Cons: The food offered was good but too high priced. Lower priced options with some a la carte choices would be nice. Take snacks with you if you’ve got kids!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place. I've never relaxed so much in my life. Pools with amazing views of the ocean and jungle canopy and an incredible spa with a talented staff.
Cons: Wifi could be faster. Dinning area could be modernized.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel provided guide to the park was amazing. He was knowledgeable and greatly enhanced the experience of the park. This is a must do! Both of the restaurants were excellent and excellent value. The pools were also nice.
Cons: The room service was not great. They did not show when they said there were coming and required another call. This was aggravating. Nothing in the mini bar but I found out later this was my fault for not letting them know. No ice to be found unless you asked room service a couple of times. The tv was on the blink and so I had to get the fixed. The room view was not what I expected but turned out to be good. A pair of Macaws were nesting in the tree next to the balcony. The hike to the beach is not for everyone. Once was enough for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel, the food was great, the pools were amazing and it had a wild trail around the hotel that you do a daytime walk and see Sloths in the trees, we even got a photo of a mother and baby. There is a local beach that you can walk to and with monkeys a larger beach and Manual Antonio that required a taxi. I absolutely loved it. This is one we definitely want to return to.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great with an awesome views and landscape. H
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Staff Room
Cons: Not very close from Espadilla, main Manuel Antonio beach, but has Biesanz Beach close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice view Big clean room Pool
Cons: Breakfast could be better
5.1 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: Many stairs to go to the Room, The First room that we saw not smell good
7.1 Good
Pros: We had a room with garden view, but a room with no view would be a better description. The hotel is a bit commercial, paying for sparkling water at breakfast, its a bit walking on the edge.
Cons: The view or lack of it from the room.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Hotel staff very friendly .. breakfast was great.
Cons: The fan in our room was broken and the ice cube maker in the American fridge was also broken
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, fantastically helpful and well-managed staff, very good food, wildlife in the surroundings.
Cons: Loud beat music from pool bar during happy hour. Would have preferred something quiet and more restful or even better, no music at all.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Bedroom and bathroom were very large. The bar, pool, and restaurant staff were very helpful. There is a great secluded beach a short hike below the hotel
Cons: Lumpy bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing shade from the cabana scenic you could by alcohol from vendors
Cons: Rocks in the water so we had to enter far to the right
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Huge comfortable bed. Big stylish bathroom. Friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Buffet part of the breakfast was a bit limited.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the beautiful private trail to the beach. Dining service was excellent and foods were delicious. The staffs were friendly.
Cons: Happy hour cocktail tasted bad. We wished they provide water station or vending machine. They charged $10 for a bottle of S Pellegrino and $6 for one liter water bottle. Room smell like mildew. They informed us that they were trying to fix plumbing problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome cocktail was great! and spa discounts :)
2.8 Mediocre
Cons: The wifi was constantly failing. Prices for the spa and bar were outrageous. Broken elevators. RAYBAN POLARIZED SUNGLASSES WERE STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM!!!!!! Manager was in disbelieve, not returning calls, we spend the rest of our trip trying to get in contact/ waiting for a resolution or at least a call back and they never did!!! Now we call from The states and the "manager" won't come to the phone, very unpleasant staff stated that they are not able to give guests more information about management. Sadly our sunglasses were stolen and nothing was ever done about it. A lot of better options around the area for a lower price.

Pros: Magical hotel in the rainforest, teaming with wildlife. We saw monkeys at sunset and in the morning on our balcony. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful (particularly Juan Carlos on reception). It is very expensive, but good for a treat. We appreciated the fizz to congratulate us on our honeymoon.
Cons: Beware Luxury Suite with pool! For 500 USD+ we assumed this was private (and in the pictures it appeared so) but it was in fact shared. Luckily for us the other room was not booked. Also, construction work started at 7am. I appreciate they need to do building work but I suggest 9am start would be more appropriate. Despite this I would still definitely recommend this hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely stay here in Manuel Antonio. The hotel is in a beautiful location. The rooms are a very high standard and the facilities are great.
Cons: The beach was untouched and beautiful for that however, once down there we weren’t able to get drinks/food so you couldn’t spend too long there. A neighboring g restaurant was selling food and drink but you obviously needed cash for that. It would have been good for the hotel to have this set up too or at least inform you before you go down there that you’d need cash.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views. The pool was amazing. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. There were many great restaurants nearby. The marina was great for food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Hotel but beware it is built into side of cliff so walking to room, reception, restaurant, pool, spa is on path with extremely steep incline.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff of the hotel was amazing. They went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and valued. Zahily the manager was very friendly and accommodating to our complains and basically the main reason why I don't give the hotel a worse rating. The staff of the bar and the restaurant, in particular Allen and Jonathan, made us feel like we were eating at home with friends. Speaking of food, breakfast was very nice and the two restaurants on site were very good too, although not particularly cheap. The location of the hotel couldn't be more convenient if you are visiting the park, not very walkable because it is on top of a hill, but super close to the park with many restaurants / bar / entertainment options in the vicinity. The natural setting of the hotel was also breathtaking: It runs down a hill overlooking the ocean and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.
Cons: The hotel is run down and in need of a major capital renovation. Don't be faked by their pictures: they are either photoshoped or from the day the hotel opened. The wooden walkways, bridges and decks are outright dangerous. The roofs of most of the buildings are broken or falling down, even the spa has a huge old water stain that no one ever bother to repair. The adult pool area looked dirty and the water was turbid, not very safe to swim in it. The bathroom in the room looked dirty, not because it was, but because it is so old and outdated that it gave that impression. They have a small minibar in the room with a sink and fridge that also has a perpetual dirty look. The windows in the rooms are so old that they are stained and also look dirty. The furniture is supposed to be casual and tropical but is just old and in need of replacement. If I had paid $150 or maybe even $200 a night for this place maybe I would not be so critical. But for the close to $400 a night that they charge I was expecting a decent hotel, not a two star road side motel with a nice view.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel to spend a few days. Despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked, it never felt packed. The two pools are more than big enough to facilitate all guests. The rooms are spread around the facility. The kids loved exploring the grounds by themselves (good place for hide and seek). Staff very friendly. The breakfast buffet was great and most of times capuchin monkeys visit breakfast early in the morning. The view of the jungle and ocean from our room was gorgeous.
Cons: WiFi was excellent in the general areas, but rather weak in our room (no 22).
6.2 Good
Pros: Staff Location View Comfort
Cons: Run down old style deco low value for money given the price Lots of few defective things in the room needs a serious refit
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The staff was very nice and the view was beautiful.
Cons: The price of this accommodation is catastrophic. The photos on booking.com were taken at the opening and are absolutely unrealistic. The whole complex is outdated and needs urgent restoration if you expect to pay around 200 dollars per night and describe yourself as a luxury hotel. The accommodation looks outdated and by no means luxurious as on the photos. A price of less than 100 Euro per night would be justified, nothing more! Such a pity for my money. The breakfast selection was miserable, the Wifi did not work in the room, the restaurant prices were overpriced and the shower was calcified and disgusting.

Pros: Loved the room. Huge comfy bed, fantastic ocean views, great bathroom and toiletries. Friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel special and top service from all. Restaurant and happy hour was good. The pool area is fantastic with awesome views and a really nice place to relax. Hotel has a lovely massage/spa room. Would highly recommend Issimo Suites!
Cons: A bit further away from the beaches than initially thought. There is a golf cart that the staff are happy to run you down to the Secret beach, or up to the main road for restaurants and where you can catch a local bus to Manuel Antonio National Park. A hilly walk to get to and from the hotel otherwise. But we were happy to walk so it wasn’t a problem but worth noting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of the ocean. Food presentation was excellent and the food was plentiful and delicious. The wait staff was very personable, friendly and efficient. Loved seeing the monkeys right outside our windows!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s really nice place, stuff was very friendly and helpful. Really delicious breakfasts. They made couple of small presents for us (like desert and glass of wine), room upgrade as we stayed there for our honeymoon and I also had my bday. It has an amazing view and interesting design (even though it can’t called practical).
Cons: Restaurant prices are insane. 40$ per dish of the day + tax + service... in Europe it would be the price in Michelin’s two stars restaurant at least. I mean food was good, but not incredible. So we preferred to go up to the village for dinners. Same quality - at least double cheaper. Other topic which puzzled us was toilet. All room is an open space, including the white throne. It has kind of Wild West tavern doors and half-wall, but it’s really not enough to feel yourself alone. So, to have some privacy there, you need to send you’re better half to the balcony. Otherwise you’d be forced to know each other incredible close
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Issimo was wonderful. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful that I have had the pleasure to meet. (Special shout-out to my man Randy!) Our room (101) was spectacular with 180 floor-to-ceiling windows that let us wake up to sunrise each morning. We could relax to watch the sunset from our terrace. The AC was string. The bed was comfy. The pillows were firm. We ate at the hotel every night. The food was always fresh and flavorful, and we also took full advantage of the 4-6 happy hour each day. Oh and we had up-close and personal viewing of toucans, caracara, vultures, and monkeys from our balcony in the morning. What a bonus!
Cons: I seriously have no complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small personal attention was great. Very clean throughout.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all we would like to thank the staff, especially Luis Carlos, Geiner and employees working at the reception. You made us feel like we were at home. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations and we stayed here for 11 days. Hotel and rooms have incredible view and good spot for sunset. During great breakfast we saw white faced monkeys and they were pretty cool. The room was big, with very nice and comfortable bed and stunning view. There are two beaches in the near distance. The hotel has an a golf cart and the hotel staff will drive you to the nearest beach or to the main road with restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacy. We highly recommend this hotel for longer stay.
Cons: Food in restaurant is great, however overpriced compared to Europe and other places near hotel. Wine list was pretty good, but again overpriced.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Chef Gabriel's food was absolutely SUPERB! ( Prob the best fried fish EVER and the best seafood pasta dish we ever had! ) Our waiter / host Alex was amazing for all three days we were there. The location was great as well. We got to see monkeys and sloths play from our balcony and had amazing views of the ocean! Breakfast was great every morning!
Cons: Chef Robert was very inconsistent. The first night he was our chef, he provided us with an amazing soup and a very good ( but over priced ) pasta special. The last night, we were hoping to end our trip with an amazing meal and instead, we got a raw fish ( supposed to be fried fish ) and a pasta dish that was mediocre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Francisco was an outstanding front desk presence, very helpful, attentive. Views from upper floor penthouse room were exceptional. Oscar was an awesome host.
Cons: In-room coffee for $5 !?!? Everything else was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service. Dinner was exceptional! Rooms are big and very welcoming.
Cons: I would like to walk down by the beach.

Pros: Stayed at the Sunset suite for two nights. Like the location and the cleanliness of the hotel. The pool and restaurant are very accessible.
Cons: It’s very inconvenient that such a nice hotel has no intention to provide a small bar of soap and has no shampoo and conditioner either.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The localization very close to Manuel Antonio Park, beach and restaurants and the view from the room
Cons: bedroom smells humidity Very expensive for the small room, light breakfast, bed and room comfort
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Close to everything: beach, restaurants, and - of course - Manuel Antonio National Park. Very good breakfast. Three or four options. We really enjoyed traditional breakfast: rice/beans, eggs, and plantains. Friendly and helpful staff. Will highly recommend, especially the Sunset Room - gorgeous view 24/7, microwave, fridge, and a few dishes.
Cons: We liked everything but if you are looking for something super fancy/luxurious, look elsewhere.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful. Views were really nice.
Cons: Location was on a steep hill , so when you arrive it was not easily apparent where the reception was. Some better signage would be helpful.

Pros: Great view of the Ocean. Great staff. Interesting idea sleeping in a container. It was Great

Pros: Location, comfortable beds, nice pool
Cons: Breakfast was ordinary
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The view was spectacular. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The food was excellent. The pool was great. And the locations was also excellent.
Cons: The stairs were fine but could be a problem for some. And the rooms were narrow and tight, bit a decent value considering the location.

7.0 Good
Pros: This was our second visit to this resort, and as usual, the staff is always attentive and friendly. Nature, staff and pool area and room size will always be the highlights.
Cons: I was very disappointed this time with several things that were extra points the first time: 1) master bedroom had a TERRIBLE humidity smell 2) master bedroom bathroom didn´t have a trash can 3) master bedroom shower had moss and black stains - cleaning is definitey not properly done 4) no extras in the fridge as before, we were looking to have some drinks at the apartment as we didnt have time to stop by 5) breakfast was still good but it was a big disappointment not to be told in advance when making the reservation that their restaurant was out of service, it was an inconvenient with a baby to go out and look for a place to have dinner and lunch 6) in the main level, the area to the right, nearby the elevator, smelled terrible, not sure if it was the bathroom area, but I just couldn´t stand the smell when I had to go upstairs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful property I will definitely be back!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The restaurant was closed (which was not mentioned) I was there with my girlfriend and we wanted a romantic early breakfast, instead we had a pool exercise class going on right in front of us . The instructor was yelling his instructions . Absolutely a “buzz kill”
Cons: Restaurant on site was closed. Which was not mentioned prior to booking. Had to do unnecessary traveling for diner. And a lot of grounds was closed due to maintenance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We got an enormous apartment. Spot clean, all the imaginable facilities and amenities in the apartment and in the hotel. We stayed for one night, but would be an exciting experience for several relaxing days. Very close to the Manuel Antonio national park.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Excellent Breakfast. Huge apartment layout. Elevator opens into your suite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Apartments are large with good living/kitchen area. Pool was great. Views of the Pacific from the pool are stunning. Kids loved the self designed pancakes for breakfast.
Cons: The lift directly to the apartment opened unannounced a few times, with people in the lift. This was a little concerning regarding security.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The 3 bedroom appartement was beautifully designed and very confortable with 2 bathrooms, a terrace, 3 balconies, an equipped kitchen and nice living room. The service is great and beachtowels are easily provided. The pool is beautiful and the small beach wild. We enjoyed yoga classes on the yoga platform and unfortunately we missed the free cooking classes
Cons: The proposed activities through third parties on the website were a little disappointing, for example the catamaran for whale watching embarked almost 100 visitors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent. Beautiful views from the pool. Lovely sunsets. Very spacious living space.
Cons: Private beach had no surf.

Pros: The views from the pool were amazing
Cons: The filter of the air conditioning was dirty and it gave us pulmonary infection. This kind of careless attitude is unacceptable for the price we paid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel iz amazing, we stayed at cockpit cottage for one night and it was one of the best experiences of our lives!Design, location in the middle of jungle, monkeys jumping around- one of a kind experience definitely..The other night we stayed in one of the sea view rooms - also fantastic, very clean, amazing view. The entire property is beautiful, pool area, so much fun things to do, El Avion restaurant is right there too...Would come back to Costa Rica just to stay in this hotel again! National Park and Espadla beach are very close to it as well...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was beautiful! Loved the pool area with its magnificent view! The room itself was huge, beautifully laid out and very comfortable. The grounds are well maintained, and we enjoyed the monkeys and birds in the gardens. The aircraft cabins were amazing ... what a feature!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views were beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, the pool refreshing from the days heat, very close to a good variety of restaurants, not to mention that there are still more monkeys than people! We loved them!!
Cons: Too far to walk up steep hills after playing in the ocean all salty and gritty, but a taxi saved the day!
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely balcony view and the grounds/pools were nice but it was hard to ignore the constant noise from traffic/large delivery trucks coming and going from Manuel Antonio. It is not in a area of pristine nature like you might think. The only capuchin monkey we saw was a stressed out looking one on the road when we were walking back from the beach.
Cons: Curt staff, WiFi drops every minute so was pretty non existent. Rooms need updating. Kitchenettes are not really set up to cook properly. No dry racks, cutting boards etc...
7.0 Good
Pros: The view was phenomenal!!!! And it was very cool having the white face capuchin monkeys on our balcony each morning. Our room had a good size fridge with plenty of ice trays to make ice.
Cons: The staff wasn't very friendly and didn't take much time to explain the layout of the hotel grounds which are sprawling and their poorly drawn map does not provide much information. It was a further walk to the beach than they said
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was gorgeous. The room and bed were very comfortable. We swam in 2 of the swimming pools. The airplanes as an accommodation was very cool.
Cons: Nothing
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The property and location are both amazing! The views and wildlife surrounding the place are super cool. No breakfast included at the huge price you pay, they are very cheap with every single thing under the excuse of helping the planet. They try to close pools several hours early so it is more convenient for them. We visited during Coronavirus scare, and employees true lack of care for guests paying $200+/ per night was obvious.
Cons: The staff has been spoiled for too long. They have numerous policies in place to absolutely rip off tourists while providing close to no service in return. Places in costa rica that are 1/4 the price have better service. We absolutely would never go again, even though the property itself is incredible. Don't ask for something like a second room key because 3 different front desk workers at 3 different times could not do it. Don't expect a beach towel without opening up a credit card account, and you cannot use the room towel. You must sign a paper when you arrive that room theft is not their fault even though you and housekeeping are the only ones in room. Lots of things go missing according to other guests who kept leaving in a day or two tops. Too many problems to mention.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are the best, hotel has amazing views!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is stunning - up a steep hill that requires a ride in their golf carts - with gorgeous views. The first room we had felt small and not a place to hang out, but after having issues with our A/C we were moved to a better loft room with much more space to relax. The multiple pools are amazing and the open air restaurant/lounge area stayed cool with overhead fans despite the hot weather. Free hourly shuttle service to the national park made it easy without having a car. The staff are extra friendly - maybe a bit too friendly at times - but trying very hard to help make every stay 5*. Dinner was very good, breakfast OK, and drinks at the bar excellent (though why the tip jar in the pool bar?). Treats to take with you when you check out are a smart touch. Would book again depending upon the nightly rate.
Cons: Our initial room was a bit warm and stuffy - the thermostat read 74-75F - and it was not cooling down quickly as expected. After discussing this with staff and requesting prompt action, we were given fans and a promise of a room upgrade the next day. The second room was cooler and much more spacious and comfortable so perhaps try to avoid the Jungle Studio. The biggest disappointment was the scarlet macaw tour offered to hotel guests. A large number of people showed up (some didn't book) and it turned out to be a strenuous hike inside the reserve. I thought it was a tour of the breeding and release program. We saw the birds from a viewing platform first (you can't do this at any other time) then hiked a fair bit down and up in the sweaty heat (no birds). Make sure to bring good shoes and lots of water. Hopefully they'll improve this tour to be more educational by focusing on these incredible birds as it was one of the reasons I booked this hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very basic room ( jungle studio)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing facilities. Staff were super helpful. Would definitely visit again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The pool was magnificent, the overall staff was very kind except for one of the waiter. We loved the bed, the room was big enough and super clean. Air conditioner also good
Cons: We’re locals and we could see how the treatment for foreigners was superior compared to ours. We had a bad experience with the restaurant during the happy hour so we ended up going out for the dinner. Aside from that, this hotel is perfect for couples
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was amazing. Each staff member made it their mission to make things work for us.
Cons: The facility is on a steep hill. They provide golf carts and drivers to move you around but do be prepared for some walking on steps and ramps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was ok but not great. For an included breakfast, it could not be beat. And the service was great. Costa Rican food is filling but not very flavorful. As long as you know that, you will be ok. Get filled up at breakfast then enjoy your day exploring food elsewhere. We found the best food in the town of Quepos.
Cons: Coffee was absolutely awful. The only acceptable coffee was when you forced them to make an espresso drink instead of the filter coffee. I would NOT recommend the pancakes as they were bland and had a strange consistency.

6.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Cons: Location noisy and not safe late at night.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel gets high marks from out while family. We had three rooms for two days for six adults and two very young children (11months old and 3 years old). The staff is outstanding from the front desk to the cleaning staff everyone made our stay very pleasant. The rooms were modern, clean and very comfortable. The only issues we had were lack of hot water early the first morning and very noisy the first night due to football celebrations everywhere around the hotel (the rooms are not soundproof in any way). They offer secure parking about two blocks away but there is pleanty of on street parking for loading and unloading and parking long term if you want. We really loved the food in the on site Resturant and the ice cream parlor just outside the hotel. It was very close to Manuel Antonio National Park and beach. Which is where we spent a lot of our time. They also help arrange tours if you want them and several in our group went on the mangrove tour. Beautiful location, fantastic sunsets. We really loved our trip.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location down town Friendly staff who are eager to assist
Cons: Internet is very patchy Parking is away from the hotel and very tight, resulting in my car scratched by another.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was large and comfortable. Wi-fi was good. Very clean.
Cons: Window rooms on the street might be noisy depending on what’s going on in the street that day. Only two options for the included breakfast. Fruit not included in either. Shower could be more hot.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge with 2 king beds. There are 3 of us so the size was great. The people were great, as are most Costa Ricans.
Cons: Beds were hard. There is no direct access to the ocean, across the street.

Pros: It was in a beautiful place

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel grounds are a lush tropical rain forest alive with wildlife. It was easy to wander around an see monkeys in the trees, iguanas, tropical birds. The staff were very friendly and prompt in replying to service requests. We were in a bungalow and had a gorgeous view overlooking the rainforest and bay.
Cons: The town was small and had limited restaurant options, most of which were overrun by and geared towards tourists.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and gardens were lovely. We saw amazing wildlife here including three types of monkeys, numerous birds and a lot of sloths, both wild and some being looked after by the sloth institute which is based here. The beach is beautiful and the staff there were fantastic, very friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Late every afternoon we would go there for a swim and then sit with Vernie the iguana watching the pelicans until the sun set.
Cons: Would have liked a blind on our front door. More than once, we were woken by some-one shining a torch on it as they came down the path. We also had construction noise start on the morning we were leaving for the last couple of hours we had there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great views, many pools and good food. Having the private beach was a huge deal!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort staff went above and beyond to make sure that the communication was excellent. They assigned a personal concierge who was available 24 hours of the day. We texted spontaneously in order to make sure that my needs were met. I would definitely stay there again!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in one of the one bedroom villa, it had views to the ocean which we enjoyed from the amazing terrace, a big spacious kitchen and bedroom and a perfectly equipped toilet with a big shower. The hotel has several pools and restaurants and a private beach. It is located on a hill so there are always cars available to drive you if you dont wanna walk the hill up. No meals are included, we could order easily delivery to our room or just to go to one of the restaurants. There is a coffee maker and basic equipment for the kitchen if you want to cook something. We had a person who helped us with everything during our stay, we communicated via whatsapp or sms and she booked restaurants/tours/laundry. Really smooth and nice.

Cons: a little expensive, and no local discount

Cons: Nothing to say
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, sweet little hotel. Endless, beautiful beach you virtually have to yourself. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Minor thing: Beach chaises need replacement.
