7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast. Nice staff and pool. Good beds.
Cons: Loud constructions going on while laying at the pool. No access to the ocean just a fence in between.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and wonderful pool. Good bar
Cons: Empty mini bar
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff Beautiful hotel Terrasse Large beds
Cons: They use sea water to fill the pool and add a large amount of very strong chemicals. This made it impossible to let the children in the pool. They eyes were burning so bad. It was the same thing for adults. Also, I alerted to the staff that a child had voluntarily urinated in the pool and they did nothing. They said that the chemicals are so strong that it didn’t matter. I thought that was shocking. They allow people from outside the hotel to use the facilities but of course do not manage behaviour. We would not go back there
7.1 Good
Pros: Nothing spectacular as hotels go. A typical tourist hotel with a salt water pool at a nice location near the beach, which is next door. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are very large and surprisingly also suitable for business travellers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect as expected. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Nice large pool. Pick-up and drop-off at the airport are very convenient and our suitcases were transported between the coach and the room.
Cons: May be personnel during breakfast should pay more attention to customers: to welcome them and ask if they want something and to make sure that the buffet is re-loaded when something is missing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice and offered us a very late check-out so we could enjoy our stay a little longer before our flight.
6.7 Good
Cons: The restaurant is not really good. We had dinner that was good, but two times lunch was less.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large and comfortable rooms, meals are excellent, a beautiful garden and friendly staff.
Cons: Difficult to ask for more.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff, good food selection. Cleanliness was amazing. Breakfast was sufficient.
Cons: Needs a little updating. Pool area is tired. Needs an iron as the only one on the whole property is used for the laundry service so can only be used if the staff aren’t using it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is confortable and our room was large and clean with a view of the pool and the sea , the staff very gentle and hospitable, a special thanks go to Jasmine and Isaia very professional and smiling!

Cons: - Bedrooms are not soundproof at all. In my room I could ear everything from the street, the halls and from the 3rd floor - The pool is small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I arrived very early in the morning and the hotel manager gave me a complimentary early check in. Very friendly people. Reception people are very kind and informative
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location , the room , the service , the staff is impeccable. This is the best hotel I have ever lived in . Kudos to George and his team for having made such a beautiful hotel .
Cons: Wow wow wow this hotel is the best hotel for me in the world . There isn't anything that one can't like about this property other than leaving it .
5.8 Okay
Pros: the breakfast terrace the tv Programme was profeessional
Cons: - the breakfast on dia 9 at 09h30 was very poor, coffee Cold, no chesse or ham, no fuit salad - the bathroom was not clean, in particular the shower area - waste underneath the table in the room was not removed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Free upgrade, very comfortable bed, nice rooftop bar with live music, and excellent breakfast
Cons: Expensive room service, but there are nice restaurants nearby
7.1 Good
Pros: Smallness and personal attention by staff.
Cons: Did not had CNN tv channel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff Free room upgrade for our wedding anniversary Room was decorated with roses and got a free (delicious) cake Director also very helpfull and gave us a ride to centre on our first day Different activities can be organised with them Big room, big bed, ... and especially very clean Cool rooms with different themes, balcony and beautiful view on the ocean
Cons: Nothing ...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Light meals like sandwitches missing. No room service.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, friendly staff and good value. Comfortable and clean room. Stayed at Pestana Tropico before and this is much better value and more friendly staff - definitely recommend this over Pestana which seems to cater more for German and French tour groups and does not care much for individual travellers.
Cons: Kettle and cups in room but no tea or coffee?? Weird. A lot of noise and dust from adjacent building sites but acceptable....the whole island is a dust bowl.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We celebrated our silver wedding while we stayed at the Pescador. The management and the helpful staff arranged surprises for us - without our knowing. Sparkling wine, rose leaves and hearts in our room. At breakfast beautifully decorated table. Breakfast was good and restaurant fantastic. We had tasty grilled lobsters, a little expensive. An other days we had the menu of the day (you will have to ask for this) with two courses, water and coffee for 1400 CVE (good and cheap). The roof terrace with small pool and spa were nice after exploring the town or surrounding villages. Our room on the 4th floor were spacious, clean and with comfortable beds. Nice balcony overlooking the the bay and harbour.
Cons: The neighborhood is nice but a bit boring with embassies, hotels/resorts and only few restaurants and shops. Beach and old town is within walking distance. On a small peninsula nearby a high-/low rise complex with hotels and casino are being built by chinese companies. Not much noise, but disrupts the view a bit.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Check in experience was great. Admilson speaks English and he is just amazing in customer service . The team are friendly and very very helpful
Cons: Frankly not much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: "Praia (Plateau) Confort Hotel" was an excellent option. To be recommended without any restrictions. Friendly and competent staff. Nice comfortable rooms. Ideal location in the middle of the old town, the historic centre of Praia (Platô). Some nice restaurants just around the corner available.
Cons: Everything was more than ok ! Everything was excellent ! Definitely nothing to complain.
7.9 Good
Pros: We had good communication with the hotel prior to arrival, which is always comforting. The location turned out to be exceptional as we were there over Christmas and there was a lot going on in the square, right below us, and several restaurants close by. BTW, in total contrast to what some say about Praia, we thought it was a lovely town. It must be a disaster if you’re looking for mass tourism or aseptic conditions, mind: this is the real Cabo Verde. The room was adequate in all respects other than lighting, which was practically non-existent. The staff were all lovely – friendly and willing to help, whatever you asked for (e.g. wine to go with our Christmas lunch in our room when Praia was definitively shut!). Finally, the breakfast here was very good. They prepared eggs and spicy Brazilian-style sausage to order and each day there was a selection of savoury pastries on offer – cheese, sausage, etc. They looked home-made, as did the daily cakes which were amazingly light and surprisingly low in sugar content. Both the chocolate and banana cakes were delicious. Fruit, yogurts, bread etc were all on offer too.
Cons: If you want to read in your room, bring a torch or be prepared to sit right under the bedside lamp. I’m loath to mention our one big criticism of the hotel. Although they were all extremely friendly and helpful, it seemed the staff had had zero training before being left in charge. Only one receptionist had a little English; the rest really only seemed to speak Portuguese/Creole. Reception and bar were combined, but serving a G&T was quite beyond them. One of our cases went astray and they were very helpful, but had no idea how to compose an international telephone number.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, perfect location, clean and large rooms. Breakfast was generous as well.
Cons: A few little issues such as the shower head wouldn't stay up, and kept sliding down. Some of the staff only speak Portuguese, they're super friendly, just make sure you ask the ones that speak English everything you need to know!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location in the center of Prahia. Would stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located with excellent wifi. Breakfast is simple but delicious with fresh fruits on offer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An off the beaten path place to visit. Central location, convenient to restaurants and shopping.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff, clean and comfortable room, very good position
7.1 Good
Pros: Size of the room
Cons: Very dark in the room - too little light. Walls are also painted in dark colors. One night there was a terrible incessant noise as from a washing machine or generator. Utterly could not sleep!
5.8 Okay
Pros: central loction, walking distance to everything one needs in Praia.
Cons: I used to be Client of the Praiaconfort since it was opened, some 7 years ago. I was a permanent guest while running a 2 year Project. It was a nice and cosy hotel, where everything was functioning, but unfortunately there was not sufficient maintenance done. No WiFi in the room, TV had a snowy picture, reading lamp at the bed was completely gone, the shower fixing in the wall was loose, the aircon did not work etc etc what a petty!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I had to book a hotel at the last minute when my flight was cancelled. This was a good location on Plateau. Large and very comfortable and quiet room.
Cons: Checkout took ages. Seemed to be a computer problem and the guy had no idea how to get round it.

6.3 Good
Pros: Location and sea view from room
Cons: The higher rate we were charged at checkin
6.3 Good
Pros: bedroom staff pool foodpric
Cons: price and comunication
4.2 Okay
Pros: The location is not bad and is next to a supermarket and mall, as well as walking distance to good restaurants and bars. The staff were quite nice and accommodating.
Cons: This was the worst 4-star hotel I've ever stayed at. It had roaches, no hot water, and is the definition of a hotel that has long since seen its better days. Time to renovate or shut this offense down.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, wifi
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is very good. By the sea, next to a beach and a shopping centre. Very convenient.
Cons: Everything is plastic. Great if you like white formica and clear plastic. Staff standards very mixed. Some very good, some very average. Dinner menu was very average - we went out to other places.
7.9 Good
Pros: I liked the friendly and professional staff most of all.
Cons: Even though I paid for the Junior Suite (Room 701) the room had minor flaws and damages. Wall outlet in bathroom, closet under TV, and the curtain didn’t work properly. Just to name a few examples..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. A winner!
Cons: No complaints.

Cons: There isn’t too much around the area as far as food / markets but can’t win it all.

Hotel Oásis Atlântico Praiamar - Praia - Building

8.3 Excellent (750 reviews)
C$ 162+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Oásis Atlântico Praiamar in Praia, you'll be a 1-minute walk from Prainha Beach and 6 minutes by foot from Dona Maria Pia Lighthouse. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: Bedroom was pleasant
Cons: Cold water, and WiFi rubbish
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is excellent on seafront of Praia. The breakfast is not bad and the rooms are spacious. The pool is great and the bar works until 01.00, which is sufficient for a nightcap if you have arrived on one of those horrible night flights from Lisbon.
Cons: The property is a bit dated and though everything is there and it all works, it is typical for Cape Verde. The potential is there but it is too expensive for what it offers. Also, as the property has no beach, one is stuck at the hotel pool which is good by the way but why go to an island if there is no access to the sea?
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Staff were always very helpful and friendly and welcoming.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Old, needs to be renovated.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, view, the beach...
Cons: I wish outside was more green, some flowers and garden, the front entry has old pavement full of dust, it’s a beautiful place but it needs attention outside. I always pick that hotel, I love been there but it needs attention on the clean and garden.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great views and very nice terrace, standard rooms are pretty bad so I recommend to spend a bit more to get sea views!
Cons: No hot water!!
6.3 Good
Pros: Would I go back? The answer is probably yes considering the options. Would I recommend the place? Probably not. The pool was pleasant. Room comfortable. But don`t go for the sea view as there will be either a tree obstructing the view or the room so set back that the edge of the cliff will block most of the view anyway.
Cons: One can be forgiving when coming to Africa but that doesn`t mean we should agree with the shortcomings observed. Major mistake and unacceptable was that the hotel charged something regarding mini-bar which I didn`t have. A minor value compared to the overall bill but the person at the desk absolutely refused to remove this charge. This in itself is a reason not to recommend the hotel. But there are other shortcomings as well. Restaurant staff are slow with several trainees and this is reflected in tables left with dirty plates for a long time and food taking ages to come. Food is tasty and perhaps on a plus side considering it is a hotel. The service is also limited. Rooms are spread out and you are expected to drag behind you your own suitcase. Then no help with getting a taxi or providing tourist info, In fact, the whole front desk is unnerving. Expect long waits to both check-in and check-out. And if you are ignored entirely just wait a few more minutes and then you will be noticed. I suggest management get their front desk staff on their feet. Their chairs are too comfortable and this probably contributes to the lack of service observed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and stay were very relaxing and would recommend. Loved the pool, but be aware it is a salt water pool.
Cons: The property and rooms are a bit dated and could use some repair, but nothing that affected my stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, and very good located. The bar Panorama is very nice and good relax on the evening.
Cons: I don't like the buffet for a kind of hotel like it is. Will be better to leave buffet to hotels 2 stars, not for Praiamar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything perfect. Recommended!
7.9 Good
Pros: Food staff, whether it was the housekeepers or the reception people, they all tried very hard to make my stay a good one. Weather, swimming pool , relaxed atmosphere. And everyone was smiling... really cool.
Cons: The scuba diving centre. Ricardo is a great instructor but the centre is terribly understaffed and as I could go as deep as normal divers due to health conditions, and the dive master was away... well I did not dive!!!! Also the lady manager was grumpy and rude to me. Except of apologising for the fact that I came all the way from England to dive and not even snorkelling let alone diving were not an option, , she answered me back as if was some sort of painful toddler.

Pros: Nice hotel, check-in and check out really easy
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: It’s so many unfortunate stuff happened to me so bad luck I had I can’t even describe because it’s too much detail

Cons: A bit far from the center

7.5 Good
Pros: Even though the receptionist didn't speak English (as stated), she tried very hard to accommodate me.
Cons: The only wi-fi signal I could get was when sitting in the stairwell, which is not good as a solo traveller when trying to book rooms for the future. There was a bar and restaurant on site, but wasn't open the days I was there.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: View from the room & the breakfast restaurant
Cons: Missing signage of hotel entrance & indication of which floor
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean, comfortable (recently refurbished?) room with a nice view across the town and surrounding area.
Cons: Some of the desk staff were a bit gormless (or missing from their post) and not really very helpful. They needed persuading to help with bags up 3 or 4 flights of stairs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Very slow internet
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We didn't sleep much the first night because of the roosters making noice, but it was no problem to get another room at the other side of the corridor on the second night. Breakfast was fine - you have to make your choices the day before. Shower worked well (good water pressure and temperature. Not seen everywhere in Cape Verde). Allugueres run straight in front of the hotel, so it is easy to get to and away from. We did a day trip to Taraffal and it was lovely.
Cons: WiFi connection was very poor! On one side of the hotel we experienced a choir of roosters keeping us awake from 4am.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, beautiful setup, friendly staff
Cons: NA
7.9 Good
Pros: Some staff workers are really friendly, I loved the exotic breakfast, especially juice and cachupa. There’s a nice swimming pool on the rooftop. It is quieter place to relax.
Cons: There are so little tv channels and no soap in bathroom. A surprise for me was though when after a long trip, first hours in heat and check-in you enter the room and see a bottle of water. You think it’s a welcoming water. And only at check out you find out that bottle costed 6 times more expensive than at any shop :) and you go from the hotel with bad feeling.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My stay was short and I really like the room. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. I left early in the morning, so I didn't get to have break fast. I like the location and the cost was great.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing I would have liked is for the restaurant to have had a menu for lunch and dinner so that we could know the options in terms of dishes and prices. Overall a great stay and recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very attentive especially the young boy at reception he was very helpful plus him and my daughter have same birthday
Cons: Nothing it was all perfect from start to finish
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The coffee was really bad.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well managed hotel in a safe residential neighborhood, with friendly and helpful staff. As a single traveler I had a clean, functional room (no view). There is a really lovely roof terrasse with a surprisingly enjoyable pool and a few lawn chairs to relax or sunbathe. A variety of restaurants are in immediate walking distance from the hotel, and the fun city beach Quebra Canela is less than 15 minutes walk or a quick 3 minute cab ride away. Hotel Santiago is very recommendable!
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: Wifi connection didn't work well. I also had some issues with my door/electronic card two days but they fixed it relatively quickly.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good. Bed was super comfortable. Location is the best.
Cons: Shuttle service never came. Price of the hotel was not cheap and when requested a late check out, they charged 60% of the daily fee, and did not even clean the room. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7, but started only 7.20 or so.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good layout and there was a desk. Good shower, had the showerhead not been non-functional.
Cons: The bed was too soft and the shower head was broken, and the breakfast was not out at 7.10, despite it supposedly being served from 7 a.m. Other than that, perfectly okay.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is friendly and ready to help the guests specialy Djalo and Hirondina
Cons: If You're an internet adicted I advice you to have a lot of patient cause the hotel wi-fi is the worse in the world.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed. Great service
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is fab
Cons: That the hotel emailed me to tell me I could have a complementary transfer from the airport to the hotel the day after I stayed there and then tried to charge me twice the amount of the going rate to get back to the airport the following day. Luckily I am familiar with Praia and sorted out my own transport. Not cool
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Central to all activities.
Cons: Breakfast could be a little more substantial.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is very good and localizantion too
7.5 Good
Pros: Was great
Cons: They guaranteed transfer from the airport to the hotel, but there was no driver waiting for us at the airport.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a hotel in the Plateau area of Praia. It’s one of the main arteries of the area, so there can be a considerable amount of people traffic through the area. The breakfast is non-Western and offered Cape Verdean classics like Cachupa. It was good, had good variety and more than exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, the water pressure was strong and hot, which can fluctuate on the islands due to the drought situation they are experiencing. I found the hotel to be a tremendous value for the money! If you want water views this isn’t the place for that, but it’s great for its location and clean and comfortable rooms. They even had musical performances at night. Don’t let the negative reviews dissuade you from staying here. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing at all.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Geographic location to explore the city.
Cons: No Air conditioning. Impossibility to get another room. We were in the most expansive room but with the worst conditions. No financial compensation, this is unacceptable. Breakfast was not ready at 7:00 rather than it was planned the day before.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff and food
Cons: That I tried to cancel two days because I was able to get a flight and they still made me pay for two extra days
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was clean, shower was good, fridge/tv/air conditioning all working. 24 hour reception was good.
Cons: Staff were unfriendly and I felt like more attention to detail is needed - no plug sockets in the room (other than the one where the fridge was plugged in and the one for the tv, which was barely reachable on tip-toes), breakfast could have been better, maybe concentrate on the quality of what you’re serving rather than quantity.
