Pros (+) Location, value, cleanliness, and safety were all pretty good.
Cons (-) Air conditioning was intolerably noisy, but it was too hot to sleep without it.

Pros (+) The room was great, very confortable with a changing room. The location is very nice, though is over a hill top so when you come back from Union Square you have to walk upwards, but this is San Francisco!!
Cons (-) The breakfast was very poor, and the staff in general didn't provide much help, even one clerk fail to give simple directions.

Cons (-) Room was not fully clean. There were pieces of plaster on the carpet. The bed angled up the wrong way - the foot of the bed was higher than the head of the bed, for some reason. There was no A/C in the room, and heat was controlled by a seemingly uncontrollable radiator. The breakfast hour was a joke. There were a couple of stale pastries and black coffee. All other coffee was a 50 to 75 cent upch...
