- High ceilings in the room - Cleanliness - Friendly Staff - Location of the Hotel
- Toilet could have been a little bigger. It felt like my 5 year old school's toilet.
Nothing. Would never recommend this hotel.
The hotel is surrounded by a large homeless population right outside. Parking is an additional $51 a day that was not disclosed at booking. The WiFi “package” which is a mandatory fee of $35 a night was also not disclosed. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel was in a central location, close to everything and easy to get an Uber. The free high-speed internet was definitely a plus.
The bed was very uncomfortable and very disappointing. The hotel was situated in a sketchy party of town. I also saw some staff members get very impatient with someone whose English was clearly not their first language when asking for their last name a few times because they didn't initially understand the question.
The Kayak lists parking as an amenity. This is false. Ended up leaving the hotel immediately after getting my room keys from a jerk at the front desk and learning I could not park anywhere. Even when I attempted to pay for their valet parking which cost over 50% of the value of the room, I was denied service due to the fact that I have a pet in the car (a pet that would have stayed in the car over night). I'm now going through hoops and loops to get a refund (surprise! So far no and later a weak maybe), since the booking was made based on false information on the Kayak listing. Can you guys help facilitate the refund?
Cleaning staff work very hard - rooms are clean
One person in front desk at any time - lineup is long. Staff is abrupt and rude. Neighbourhood is scary and dangerous. No food - only Starbucks, no restaurant (it looks like it went out of business). Key cards needed recoding every day ( huge inconvenience) Do NOT stay here - too expensive and it’s a horrible experience.
It was a room with a bed
No coffee, no water, dark room, noisy hallway, expensive
Don't stay there unless you own a zombie survival vehicle
Staff was friendly and room was clean on the one day I three they actually cleaned it.
Was in the ghetto surrounded by hopeless people with knives who threatened to stab us.
Clean and convenient
Well restored historic building. Room was clean with nice touches of quality. Friendly service
Registration desk/area decor a bit drab and depressing.
Furniture and carpets a bit worn
Booked through priceline, and received a handicapped room
I advise against staying here
No wifi. Gave us a single instead of a double room. Very limited TV channels. Loud...very very loud. Extremely thin walls. I heard the ppl down the hall sneeze as if they were in my room. Staff wasn't very accommodating. Slow and small elevators. Overall, I would never stay here again.
Almost nothing. The lobby was pretty I guess. A few members of the staff made it bearable.
Incredibly rude manager and staff. Had an issue at check in and was met with aggression and condescension. There is literally nothing that makes this hotel stand out. Also watch out for this Kayak contract, you can end up with no room and no refund if you're not careful. Would not recommend, probably won't be booking through this service for a hotel again.
We expected a two-star but it was a three star, right across from the Orpheum Theatre, not so far from Union Square, and the Manager quickly made a slight change to our booking when we asked.
The fact that it was so close to the street car pick up!
The diner across the street was amazing! if you go there get the T- Rex.
The beds were very comfortable.
The hotel should provide bottled water in the rooms for staying guests.
was easy to get to
Had to send breakfast back on a few occasions :-(
Interesting and historical hotel near city center.
Market Street is no longer so pleasant as it was before.
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Our hotel room was clean, quiet and we enjoyed the duvets on the bed. I would recommend this hotel to others. Close to transit with the bus and muni lines just outside of hotel.
Only downfall about the hotel was there was hardly any restaurants close by. The attached hotel was ok - a little on the pricey side and not kid friendly. The restaurant staff was not friendly at all. There was about a 2 block stretch that was between the hotel and downtown. Lots of homeless - but nothing to be afraid of.
The room is big. The bed is comfortable. It looks long history.
It was too noisy outside, maybe there is a anti-fire center nearby, for our sleep were broken by the noise every night. It was really terrible. And there was a door between two rooms each side with a lock. One night our neighbor was stranged by the door and tried to find things behind it. This made us uncomfortable.
Location is central a little the wrong side of town but this is why it is cheap I thnk if you can go along with the crazies around its fine. Beautiful hotel well above its class rating with lovely staff
Just the number of homeless people that seem to congregate near the hotel its fine if you can live with it they do make up the fabric of the city
Location of the hotel
Fiendliness of staff and security
No tea making facility, paying for internet access, no breakfast included. Location on Market St was a bit scary while walking.
