Hertz customer service in Sanford downgraded my vehicle, Hertz Corp customer service was completely lost trying to help resolve the issue, and Hertz charged an additional $76 upon return with no indication why. Gas was 100%, car returned on time to the location stated, and no tolls or other charges used. When I demanded an invoice of charges, they kept providing the same one with the $29 fee and $200 hold.

This company is such a scam. They told me I needed basic coverage when I already had insurance. When I realized they had added an additional 400 dollars to my bill I couldn’t get even one person to answer the phone at the location for four days straight and the central office said they couldn’t help it has to be the local branch. I asked three different people before I left the property and they all said “oh you got the basic coverage” and did not ever once tell me it wasn’t required. I tried to get help and got ZERO. I will never use this company again. The vehicle was great, the return was great but the complete deceit on the front end keeps me from ever using this company again.

Felt like a bait and switch when the website gave me a Tesla Model 3 as the example of the car that would be available and then it turned out to be a Chevrolet Bolt with over 35k miles. The Bolt turned out to be a pretty good car, just not in the same category as a Model 3. The price was too good to be true in the first place so I should have known, I just don't like the bait and switch. The interior screen had big streaks on it and the Bolt takes forever to charge but the rest of the experience was pretty good.

I ordered Tesla and should pick up Tesla but the Tesla they gave it to us was air bag light on so they change it for a Ford SUV Mustang electrical. This is the worst Cars for MPG every 100 miles I do have to charge it and every single charge $55 $50.

The rental process was smooth from start to finish. The vehicle was clean-ish some stains and wrappers but that’s okay, well-maintained, and exactly what I needed for my long-distance move from Florida to Texas. Pickup and drop-off were easy, the staff was professional and helpful, and the car was comfortable and reliable throughout the trip. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely rent again.

They did not have the car we wanted and they have the wrong phone number that they claimed to have called us on. However they asked for my number to check in. Wrong phone number on file but correct number when we check in. Just disappointed that we did not have the car and our plans had to be cancelled because of it.

The team at the Orlando airport were incredibly kind and helpful. I mistakenly booked at the wrong airport, the check in employee so was kind in assisting me, the customer service rep I had to call was extremely helpful, and the parking lot employee met me with kindness as well. It was a very unpleasant travel day for me, so I was extremely grateful for their positive demeanor at that moment. Turned my day around!

Lots of communication and no wait at the airport. The SLI was very confusing to me since I spoke to my insurance prior to the rental and was assured I had everything I needed, so that cost, which almost double the cost of the rental, was confusing. The car was nice and definitely suited our needs. Drop off was a little difficult since I was given the wrong address in a text, but the took us to the airport right away.

The rate I booked at Kayak was not honored at Avis. They said it was a private corporate rate and I needed to show proof I worked there. They told me they are seeing this issue with many Kayak rentals I will no longer use Kayak to book another reservation for any travel.

I had flat within 10 minutes if not sooner of driving it off the lot, car had to be towed because there was no spare, then had to be ubered to hotel, then back to airport the next morning, someone should have brought me a new rental. Upon getting my replacement I felt like the women behind the counter were trying to say I was scamming the system, even asked for proof of my texted voucher from Avis. It was all too much.

Drop off location in Hilton Head Island was closed even though hours said it was open. Staff did not answer the phone when tried to call multiple times Had to call customer service and spend 30 minutes on the phone to change drop off location that was further away and that was ACTUALLY open.

I arrived at the counter to pick up the rental. I did not have a credit card on me. The very rude agent told me that in order to release the rental to me without a credit card, they would have to run a credit check. I showed her the rental policy online that stated a rental could be picked up with a debit card and hold fee. Even though the policy is online, and I showed her word for word, she refused to allow me to retrieve the rental. I left and went to another rental counter , Alamo and successfully rented a vehicle with Alamo. I will never use Avis again!

Scammed by insurance add ons which I refused, proving I already had same coverage. A $217 4-day rental fee, prepaid thru priceline quickly rose to $580 which I challenged only to be told "your car is no longer available, we rented it to someone else". They did offer me a ride back to Sanford Orlando where they'd picked me up 30 mins late, one hour earlier. I believe Nextcar routinely scams customers. All the time you're completing paperwork they have a TV blaring info on how FL laws mandated ins requirements. Never had that from ethical auto rental agencies.

Convenient pick-up on airport arrival. Company charges $199.99 a day to use your own auto insurance. Can not opt out. They call it an administration fee. Attempted to force me to buy a toll road package. Very hard sell of add one and it cost an extra $233.00 after quoted price on written prepaid reservation. Would not recommend this company for car rental. Car rental is unmanned and you leave the vehicle in a parking lot with the keys in the glove box and car unlocked. You then text them a picture of the parking space of the vehicle so an employee can find it at a later time.

Rent-a-wreck IS A SCAM!!! They don't provide their local policies within the initial contracts. They say they send it in an email before the rental date, but the email I received provided a broken link to the policy. I was unable to read until I got to pick up the rental on a different page on the employee's phone. At this point, it was to late to cancel and ended up losing my initial required deposit. I wanted to use my own insurance, which they allowed me ti use, but they then force you to pay a $20/day admin fee for using your own insurance instead of using their $40/day insurance. They were also forcing me to pay a $10/day for the use of a toll transponder. I was still required to pay the tolls. I have my own toll transponder that is transferable but they said it wouldn't work. I walked away from the rental and went to their competitor which ended up being cheaper. This rental company IS A SCAM!!!
