The line situation at pick up very confusing. Not sure was working for what car company. People renting and returning cars would go into dollar line and get waited on long before those of us who waited patiently in the correct line.

Everything about the car, pick-up and drop off was great. But I was frustrated because I wanted to find out if I there was after-hours drop off, but there was no way to reach hertz by phone and actually talk to a human. I called at least 20 times. In the end I had to call the road-size emergency number to actually talk to someone and they were able to help me out.

Pros:

I had been experienced bait and switch with a different car rental office the night before, so wasn’t really feeling too confident about going elsewhere. However, my husband and I were pleased with the customer service at Alamo and appreciated they had cars available for rental.

Cons:

I had to pay $501 for 2 days of rental. I think the price could’ve been a bit better.

This company is such a scam. They told me I needed basic coverage when I already had insurance. When I realized they had added an additional 400 dollars to my bill I couldn’t get even one person to answer the phone at the location for four days straight and the central office said they couldn’t help it has to be the local branch. I asked three different people before I left the property and they all said “oh you got the basic coverage” and did not ever once tell me it wasn’t required. I tried to get help and got ZERO. I will never use this company again. The vehicle was great, the return was great but the complete deceit on the front end keeps me from ever using this company again.

Pros:

I asked for a rental out of Orlando, FL Airport. When I arrived I found out that the car was in Sanford, FL 45 minutes away with no shuttle as promised. I could not get to Sanford to pick up the car and they would not honor the reservation in Orlando's Dollar Rental. It cost me $75 to pay a taxi to get me to my hotel and I never got my rental. Had to pay for a taxi the whole time I was in Florida.

Could have provided a car at the right airport.

Instructions on how to get into return lot. Lot was shared with Wally Park and not knowing that I had to almost touch the cross bar to get into the lot I had to swipe a credit card to get in. Manager said he canceled the charge so it should come out alright

Hide fees, I was over charged, they charged me for 8 passengers van, at the moment of the pick up they didn’t have any available, anyway I was charged the full amount, also they add coverage that I did not request to the van, I called during the trip to notify about the coverage that I didn’t add and tolls “they said was fixed”, at the moment of the return, looks like they didn’t fix anything and are charging me the full amount of money, they are saying nothing can be done, very disappointed.

Initial impression was not good. Signage posted on rental counter that stated a $450 cleaning charge for many normal situations. Signs said, NO SAND, NO PETS, etc… I get the no smoking, but it’s Florida. There’s sand. Then when we went to the assigned vehicle (luxury car) it was super dirty with hair and gunk all over the inside as well as a broken windshield. Of course no damage was noted on the paperwork. Super friendly and helpful employees. Zero complaints there, just a failure on the cleanliness and condition. Not terrible. They got us a different car quickly.

The woman that assisted us was doing the job of 12 people. She was thorough and friendly, but she was the only one so we waited an HOUR in line after our flight before we got our car. Once we got the car, it was dirty inside, like someone spilled soda on the console and floor and door. Was not cleaned, just vacuumed. Drop off was perfect!

They didn’t have a car at the location where I wanted it. I kept adjusting the times to be in times it wouldn’t work for me. I just did the times on the app and it continued to change them back to what they were previously. I contacted Avis customer support to try to get resolution to the problem. They never would contact me back. They finally contacted me after I had already gone with a different rental car company. Worst experience ever. Cars were not available as the app suggested. Tried to make adjustments to the times and they were not flexible.

CHRYSLER VAN WAS NICE & ROOMY.

Cons:

I drove down to Enterprise the week before when i made the reservation with KAYAK to confirm they had me in the system.....and they did. When i went to pickup the van Enterprise said they cancelled the order......WHAT!!!!! Representative said they tried to reach me by phone the day before and did not get me to confirm rental........WHAT! I showed him the VMS i recieved and that I called right back and did not get a sole to answer the phone. I told the Rep that most other companies use TEXT to verify / confirm transactions. Glad I saved the VMS & Phone call times. My guess is that they rented my van to another unhappy customer? Manager came out and resolved the issue and had a van delivered from the airport to their site......I had to come back later to pickup the van. Never had much luck with Enterprise and probably will avoid using them again.......always seem shady in their dealings with me.
