10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kindnesses and efficiency of the staff. Special thanks to the front desk and concierge staff. The front staff offered us a room with a very close view to the park, my aged mother could enjoy the lighting events and day view of the park from the window. The concierge arranged a flexible taxi tour for the sightseeing in a very professional and friendly manner. Breakfast buffet was very nice with both Japanese and western food. Onsen bath was perfect to relax. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Thank you very much to all the staff, you made our visit very special.
Cons: Nothing that we can think of.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel structure is very luxurious, it looks like a dutch castle, it's extremely beautiful outside and inside. The rooms are very spacious, they have a balcony with views of the sea and the Huis Ten Bosch theme park, the view was completely beautiful, there is also a convenience store in the ground floor which offers great flexibility, the Huis Ten bosh park is very close just a few minutes walking and the breakfast was absolutely delicious with Nagasaki local foods, I always love when they include local foods in the breakfast.
Cons: Outside of the hotel and theme park area, there's not much to do outside, and there is only one station nearby to connect with the rest of the prefecture, so if you're not going to the theme park, then there's no point in staying in this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and service.

Pros: Good for Huis Ten Bosch, breakfast also good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good price and everything is fine with
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast spread was good. We picked the western spread (but it is really a mix of Japanese + western). bath was good but crowded.
Cons: Central aircond and the room could be very stuffy. Room is expensive but the size of room is very good. There is no need to stay at any of the hotels @ Huis Ten Bosch. The only attraction there is the theme park and spending one full day (from 8am-9pm) would be more than enough. U could then head-back to Sasebo / Nagasaki. The theme park entrance is just 8min walk to the train station to Sasebo / Nagasaki.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big space for bathroom, this is very unusual in Japan. Very nice!
Cons: We are a family of 2 adults with 2 kids (6y+4y). Bed is small, did not offer 3 bed room type. So we have to squeeze on the 2 beds combined together.

Cons: The bed is a bit smaller.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and the location is awesome.
Cons: The breakfast was good but everything was served at room temp. The bed was very stiff. Tho my room was not smoking, I could smell the smoke throughout the halls. My clean close also smelled of smoke.
Huis Ten Bosch Forest Villa - Sasebo - Building
5
8.3 Excellent (388 reviews)
C$ 597+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Huis Ten Bosch Forest Villa in Sasebo, you'll be a 1-minute drive from Huis Ten Bosch and 5 minutes from Shinsaikai Bridge. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Silently and comfort
4.2 Okay
Pros: Have a nice view and its clean.
Cons: The place it's very badly signposted. We took 40 minutes to find the correctly parking lot and had nobody inside the parking lots to help. They said the park is free of charge for those who stay in the hotels but it wasn't. The parking lot its very far to the hotels and you need to walk with the bags to the main entrance and then take a bus to the hotel. To take the bus its also confuse and had no clear signs to inform you where is it and we've try to ask some people that work there and they didn't knew too. The hotel its very expensive and it's not worth the price. It's a very old place and have a very poor service. The staffs are not that kind as we usually see in Japan and at night no-one stay at the hotel reception. I'm so disappointed with the hotel and i can say i've never been as badly served in Japan as I've been there.
7.9 Good
Pros: Big cottage to ourselves. Location can be beautiful if we had caught the autumn at its peak.
Cons: No direct carpark access to the property but the hotel has made arrangements to assist guests with luggage. For the price charged, the property could be better maintained and less dusty with provision of bottled water.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money. Spacious cosy house: the place sleep up to 4 people but still cosy for couples. Quiet surroundings to take a break after a day at the theme park. Staff are helpful with impeccable Japanese hospitality.
Cons: Mattresses probably seen too much mileage and will require replacement soon. Hotel might consider separate vehicle arrangement for guests as the location is quite far from the train station and the theme park shuttle bus tends to be overcrowded at checkout times.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was surprised that it was a little cottage with with an upstairs and downstairs. It had two toilets and a large shower. Fantastic view from the back porch! Breakfast was fabulous, lots of great things to eat! I also appreciated that the food allergens were labeled, making food choices easy for the two people in my group with allergies! Hotel gave us breakfast, tickets to HTB, meal coupons, and a quick pass!
Cons: It was expensive.

7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is located beside the lake with great view. Staff is really helpful.
Cons: No air condition
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel room was by far the largest of all that I've stayed at in Japan. I was glad that I chose a room on the upper floors with a view of the bay and overlooking the park. The view was beautiful. Be sure to enjoy the night illuminations in the park.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful and charming western style building that backed up directly to the water
Cons: Property is old. Carpet is run down, everything inside needs to be updated. Good luck finding more than one outlet to plug in your phone/accessories. Distance from parking area requires a shuttle and you need to schedule an appointment if it’s outside of normal operating hours. PARKING IS NOT FREE. Definitely not worth the outrageous amount per night versus other hotels in huis ten Bosch or especially to those in sasebo city. If you are looking to stay in sasebo city this is a 45 minute drive on a toll road into the city proper. Do not stay here if you think you are staying in sasebo!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and tidy. Readonable pricing.Staffs are sincerely.
Cons: Nil
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful which I gave big credit to. And the room and bathroom are spacious.
Cons: Thought there is Air conditioning , there is only very weak wind coming out . We need to open windows at night but there were mosquitos all night long. Poor sleeping night. And the pillows are too soft and not supportive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Room 544, noise because of staff elevator at the back. However, since we changed room the problem was solved. The staff was very helpfull.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing staff.... everyone was awesome
7.9 Good
Pros: Room is big and comfy. Twin room is just right for two adults and one big boy.
Cons: Quite expensive
7.9 Good
Pros: Special thanks to MR.KO , he was helpul and so professional.
Cons: No thing
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked the European theme and design and the classical design and I also liked the room view which was on the Theme Park.
Cons: I didn't like the facilities in the room and the air condition. and it was very annoying that there are not much places to use the electricity to charge my phone!
Quintessa Hotel Sasebo - Sasebo - Building
7
8.1 Excellent (1,276 reviews)
C$ 123+

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The location was great. It’s right in central Sasebo next to Ginza where you can do all your shopping
Cons: The room was small for the price, bed was like sleeping on rocks. I had a previous guests washing rag left hanging in the shower with hair. For $110 per night this was NOT a very comfortable room. The parking advertised was always full so you had to use the parking structure down the street or if there where spots open at the entrance it was a very tight fit (I actually chipped paint on my door trying to get out next to the wall)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: it was a little small, but its normal for Japanese
5.4 Okay
Cons: Toilet is stink mainly because the hotel is too old and without any remodeling.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant closed, but we were welcome graciously and allowed to have a delicious meal. Receptsion clerks were most helpful and provided an iron and board for me to use.
Cons: I would have eaten breakfast, but I went to work at 0700, before the restaurant was open. Suggest you open the breakfast earlier.
7.9 Good
Pros: It is a business hotel that was not too far from 'Huis ten Bosch' (~20 minutes drive). The accomodation was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The accomodation has seen better times and it is a bit worn out and relatively expensive. Parking your car also requires an additional fee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine. I enjoyed the location and the hours.
Cons: My only critique is that I think the scrambled eggs should be cooked a little longer.
7.5 Good
Pros: Rooms waaay bigger than the Fuji across the street. Staff extremely helpful, always smiling. Awesome location to walk to base.
Cons: Beds are too small for anyone over 5’9. I’m 6’2” and the bedding could barely cover my chest. Restaurant in lobby leaves a weird smell when you walk in and in public spaces. Located directly next to Philippino alley so good luck sleeping Friday/Saturday nights with the bass thumping and the drunken sailors screaming through your single pane windows. Smoking rooms gave me an allergy attack.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I had a smoking room since all the non-smoking rooms were taken up. The staff did a great job at trying to make the room smell fresh and clean!
Cons: The room was a bit older and had some small damages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Stayed there for years.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Internet was ok, but connected to wires for better speed. Breakfast is not free.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was spectacular and the property was within walking distance of a national park... also with amazing views. I also enjoyed the hot spring. I would absolutely recommend this property and will try to stay here again.
Cons: The buffet had many options but some of the seafood did not taste very good, perhaps because it was out for a long time. The roast beef was very good. More info about the property written in English would also be helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is good for the view and the hotel is pretty.
Cons: It is very difficult for us to drive to the hotel at night (around 7-8pm). The road is kind of dark so be careful if you drive.
6.7 Good
Pros: View. Pool view. Parking
Cons: Smelly old carpet in room & corridor. Overdue for replacement. Access up long winding road. Mattress aldo needs replacing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast buffet was off the chain...so many delicious options, we couldn't even taste them all. Our room was huge by Japanese standards, and had a little balcony which was great for taking photos. Bathroom was sparkling clean. Room was completely quiet all night. My husband enjoyed the onsen which was empty on a Monday night.
Cons: I can't lie, I really need a power outlet next to my bed. (But perhaps it was good to be forced to put the phone down and enjoy the peace and quiet.)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: There was another party which were 20 drinkers. They talked loud and yelling. I paid a lot of money and ruined our family dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the view from this hotel is amazing, you can see the incredible ocean view during the daytime to included the breathtaking sunset, and then you can enjoy the nigh time view of the city below lit up, and hotel is very clean with good facilities.
Cons: the negative thing about this hotel is the distance from the city, they do have a shuttle service to city but still i understand that you could not have this amazing view in the city so I can look past this issue.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The onsen is beautiful!! View is amazing. A million dollar view. Staff friendly
Cons: The room was super outdated and smelled so bad of smoke that we weren’t able to actually stay in the room during our trip. Hallways and all rooms smell terrible of smoke. Carpets old and mildew smelling. Wanted to love this place bc of the view, but couldn’t bc of the smoke smell
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast came with the room rate. It was a decent breakfast with good coffee and pastries. It had just about everything like sausage and eggs except no sushi.
Cons: It would be nice if the shuttle service started a little earlier. The first shuttle leaves at 0800. For the working folks this is a little later than desired.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: The room is quite small and a bit smelly. It definitely needs decoration. There is no towel in the public bath area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I adored the water pressure. The bath robe was easy to slip on and off which is ideal of course.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: nice rooms, helpful staff!excellent location.
Cons: none
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly
Cons: Older facility
5.4 Okay
Pros: Fantastic breakfast buffet: Japanese and western style 5 stars Location absolutely perfect
Cons: Room service: if you don't put the 'make up room' on your door the room isn't made and you find a bag with fresh towles in front of your room. We found two insect-traps (not empty) and there was a terrible smell in the room and in bath. No cupboard. Bad cleaning of the room: we found several things under the bed (paper, an bag, a sock, a chewinggum etc.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the shampoo bar
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: I speak fluent Japanese and yet the staff acted like a deer caught in the headlights whenever I answered their questions. I was told to "wait" while another staff went and got someone else that spoke broke "EngRish". Then that staff member became the new deer in the headlights. 30 + years of living in Japan and rarely have a problem with communication in Japanese.....yet these bozos can't seem to get their act together. Their customer service was terrible. I found 7~8 bugs in the room every day. The "onsen" was a joke. It was more like a big public bath. Yet they automatically charge you extra for it whether you use it or not. This place sucks.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast , service , view
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wide spread of varieties for breakfast.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice and quiet. Room service never fails.
Cons: For a high end hotel, no laundry service and a shotty breakfast buffet. I'd rather save and Air BNB in town or hotel in town where all the food is at. Stiff beds and pillows. About 1600¥ for a taxi from hotel to city center. Prepare to spend that if you want to travel daily
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and quiet
Cons: Bathroom was too small .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and service!
Cons: No

Pros: Neat and comfortable.
Cons: No free parking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good price! Very spacious room for a Japanese room (even with a coach and table). Wonderful view to the port and sea. Directly next to the Sasebo main station, shopping center, restaurants etc. Laundry and dryer machine with coins. Car parking house for 500 yen a day. Very friendly personal.
Cons: Small bathroom with no windows, so it smells a little bit moldy.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location as it is just above the city bus terminal. Friendly staff. Many choices at breakfast is good compared to the hotels near-by.
Cons: An old style hotel for business people basically. The room is cramped and wall papers in the room, particularly those of bath room are. The kettle in the room worked but about to die soon.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room picture is false and room description was inaccurate
9.6 Excellent
Pros: 1.The hotel is very close to the JR station, it is easy to find the hotel. 2.The hotel has a lot of space and can accommodate three large luggages. 3.Breakfast is rich, guests can choose from different styles.
Cons: There are fewer restaurants near the hotel, you must eat before 21:00, otherwise there will be only one or two restaurants for dinner.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located near the Sasebo train station where you can eat the Sasebo burger. Shopping centre is only a stone throw away. There are restaurants and shops there at 五番 area.
Cons: Rooms size could have been bigger. The rest were great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to transportation and shopping.
Cons: N/A
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well presented hotel - just across the road from the station. This is a very attractive feature for us as we had such an early train start. Short walk to the port promenade. Close to shopping mall for quick meal breaks. The rooms were comfortable and quite roomy. The air conditioning was also highly efficient - a bonus as Japan was experiencing heatwave conditions.
Cons: Rooms were a little dated, but still very good value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and silent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: All just perfect
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed is super comfortable. Over all good time. Would go back.
Cons: Do not disturb sign on the door and they called to ask if you want the bed made. I guess they were just checking but it woke me up. Besides the usual Japanese tv networks you can only get porn and sports for an extra charge. No one watches movies apparently.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Near the train, bus station and shopping arcade. Very kind staff.
Cons: Small room but not a big deal because most of the time we are out.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location.
Cons: The room was quite small.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The robes and bathroom cosmetics wear very nice, awesome high tech toilet .
Cons: Would have like to see more western breakfast choices in the morning buffet.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Clean.
Cons: Overpriced. Fridge didn’t work. Room very tiny.
7.1 Good
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: The WiFi sucks!!!
6.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The staff argued with me for more than 10 minutes, suggesting that I should reserve a bigger and more expensive room because we have a one year old baby with us.
7.9 Good
Pros: Near to bus terminal and train station.
Cons: Price is a little high (due to Golden Week though)

7.5 Good
Pros: Efficient staff , and friendly and knowlegable
Cons: Liked everything , but t.v. channel selection not good , not enough choices on different bands
9.6 Excellent
Pros: kind staff good facilities good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff was very nice and professional.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is right in the city centre and there are lots of restaurants & cafes. If you need parking, there is a parking lot right next to the hotel (north exit) and service is excellent, it costs 1,200 yen per day (no matter how many times you drive in & out). You pay to the hotel directly after check out & this is not mentioned in the hotel information when I booked via booking.com.
Cons: Really nothing. The room size is standard Japanese hotel room, small but ok for me.
7.1 Good
Pros: very good. there was a good variety to choose from. Staff was efficient and welcoming.
Cons: Staff could have been a little friendlier and helpful to foreigners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its been my go to choice for hotels while traveling to Sasebo.
7.9 Good
Pros: Room is big by Japanese standard. Hotel is just across the “shopping street” (and the market is just 5min walk away), so it is easy to get food in the morning and evening. The hotel is along the main road of Sasebo, so it is very accessible to go to many of the tourist attractions from hotel (by taking the bus). There is no train to the tourist attractions, only bus or taxis... so this hotel is at a fairly good location (but note hotel is still 12min walk away from JR Sasebo station).
Cons: Hotel is about 12 min walk from train station, so if u have huge luggage, just pay 100Y and take a bus to hotel. Kinda pricey considering the hotel is not that new. Maybe they should have included free breakfast to provide better value for the rate charged.
7.9 Good
Pros: I thought it was very cost effective to receive a refund of 100¥ for keeping the same linens on the bed. We were there for 11 night and had the staff change out the linens every other day. So all together we received a 600¥refund. Nice!!!
Cons: The room we stayed in was advertised as a room for two but there was only one bed. It was my daughter and myself that traveled and didn’t mind sharing a bed, but it was still a little small. Maybe a double would have been better.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good. Overall the food was good. The hotel was fairly modern. The staff however were very clinical and not very helpful to foreigners. They need to be more versed in English in order to help the different nationalities that frequent the area.
Cons: staff could be more friendly and show that they are willing to help.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The onsen onsite was very nice and relaxing. The bus stops right outside of the property.
Cons: The bus schedule to that part of the city isn't great, but that's not the hotel's fault - just something to be aware of. The view from the room was the parking lot.
7.5 Good

6.7 Good
Pros: Good food, nice Breakfast
Cons: asked for a non-smoking room got a smelly smoking room, opened the window and the maid kept closing it.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly and nice, Location is excellent.
Cons: No screen on room windows,, cannot leave window open long or at night because of bugs flying in.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff was very nice and spoke English well. The hotel is very close to the train station and the shopping district. There were plenty of places to eat and kill time. The coffee at breakfast was good.
Cons: The rooms were pretty typical of Japan, so the beds were very hard. The breakfast was also pretty typical Japanese, but there was mostly fish for the entire meal. The hotel did make a change for foreigners, it seemed, and included an egg, yogurt and two slices of fruit in our breakfasts. I appreciated this change, but wish the meal had options besides fish. I like it when there is salad offered at breakfast, or more fresh vegetables and a slice of bread instead of rice.
7.5 Good
Pros: The restaurant at the bottom of the hotel is the best asset of this property. Prices are usually cheap if you book in advance and it's very close to both the train station and bus outlet if your planning to leave town.
Cons: The lighting of many of the rooms is depressing and dim. The beds are not the most comfortable but it's a decent place to stay for a night or two. Everything seems kinda old when you go to your room versus where you check in at.As for the pictures you see online you will probably never get that good looking room, it's just for show.
7.5 Good
Pros: 5 minutes walking from Sasebo Station, bus terminal, harbour, mall etc. no need special transportation, just walk all the way to explore Sasebo.
6.3 Good
Pros: Water pressure and temperature was great.
Cons: Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, maid didn't like the room temp so she kept turning my A/C off, internet was spotty at best.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was nice and clean. The location was within walking distance of where I needed to go.
Cons: No complaints.
6.0 Good
Pros: free breakfast, and staff was friendly.
Cons: The hotel is an older hotel, kind of stuff, and needs to upgrade in a lot of ways.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a generic business hotel with all the amenities. Staff was very competent. Great location if you need to be near the train station.
Cons: The hotel is a little dated. It shows it age but it is very clean and functional.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: WiFi could be better and Air Condition could be better as well. Air condition barely blew cold air out
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked my room. There were tatami mats and a futon to feel Japanese style.
Cons: I was missing a pillow to work by the desk in the room.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect and the bed was very comfortable.I slept very well.
Cons: The room carpets was very tired in appearance. Lots of dark stains and looked very worn. Which is a shame as the room layout was nicely compact.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good price
Cons: Unfortunately a non-smoking room wasn't available
5.0 Okay
Cons: The corridor that my non-smoking room was on seemed to stink of smoke
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was perfectly close to everything I wanted to visit.
Cons: NO AC!!!! Not controllable anyways. I prefer to sleep in a cold room. I had to rent a fan. The bed was hard and some how The pillow was even harder. The staff barely spoke English, so that was a bit rough. I was given a smoking room and I don't smoke. The neighbor smoked like a chimney. It was gross. But if you were looking just for a place to stay for a night, it wasn't that horrible for the price. No bugs and the location was great.
