Location seemed ok.
On arrival it looked as though ashtrays had been emptied in the car park and on the entrance steps. The foyer smelt musty. We were greeted by a receptionist wearing a tee shirt and track suit bottoms. She gave us our room key, explained where the breakfast room was and also that the indoor pool was open for a couple of hours during the morning and again for a couple of hours late afternoon. We found our room. The carpet was gritty, curtains were coming off the rail, there was scribble on the wall, the sheets were stained, the toilet was soiled and the glasses in the bathroom had lipstick marks on them. There were folded towels on the beds as though the room had been prepared. We went to explain to reception, a different receptionist came up to the room and agreed it was not acceptable and she “would sort something out “. We did not hear from her so again went to reception and then we were told a cleaner was “on her way in “. Unfortunately I am unable to post any photos as I spent the time we waited on the phone looking for an alternative hotel. We did not stay any longer to see if a cleaner did arrive.

Alan the manager was the only good thing. The hotel is obviously being run down as to bull dozed for re development.
Rooms dirty. Curtain hanging from rail. Bath held together by tank tap. No water out of Bath taps. Floor not hiovered Window sills have dead flies spidders Dust grim No cooked breakfast even tho did one yesterday. Pool closed No alcohol had to go to shop to buy it for us
Staff were friendly and polite. Excellent location central to beach and town. Bed was quite comfortable.
Room was not clean. There was toothpaste splashed all over the wall and mirror. The glass shelf in the bathroom had not been cleaned in god now's how long. Carpet needed to be vacuumed. Towels weren't ready until late evening. Paid for breakfast which turned out to be very poor continental. We skipped this and paid again locally. Bar had 2 bottles of local warm beer in a fridge. Curtains were hanging off in bedroom. Old wrapping and dirty glass in corridors. Dead spider added to Halloween theme. Also bought our own soap as none provided, hand towels and a loo roll on our last night.
The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly... the pool is a real bonus...
