Prince Rupert Hotel

Breakfast was perfect. Room was clean.

Our bedroom must have been situated near to the boiler room or a generator because it was very noisy at times during the day. No outlook from room.

The breakfast was good enough and the staff very attentive. There was a valet service for the car which was very good.

Breakfast was slow, as each breakfast was cooked individually and the decaf coffee was only instant coffee, which was a disappointment. The hotel was listed as having a health suite, which had apparently been got rid of quite some time previously, so that too was disappointing. Our room was quite small and cramped (and looking at the hotel layout on the fire escape plan clearly one of the smallest in the hotel; again a disappointment in a hotel that wasn't overly occupied). The location of the hotel is very central in an attractive part of the town, but being a pedestrianised zone the council came clattering down the road about 6am to empty the bins before all traffic had to leave the area. This made a sleep-in impossible. Again, the location of the room was at fault here, being on the end of the hotel and at the corner of the road where the bins were being emptied.
