Overview Reviews
In the heart of Strasbourg, a stone's throw from the Cathedral, the Cour du Corbeau hotel, a member of the MGallery collection, combines history and modernity. In a setting that dates back to 1528, this 4-star hotel elegantly combines the charm of yesteryear with a more modern feel, giving its 63 rooms a unique identity. Guests are invited to step back in time and follow in the footsteps of Marshall Turenne (1647) or travel incognito like the Prussian King Frederick the Great in 1740
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is great. Hotel is charming. While the room size is a bit small, while I guess all European hotel rooms are small...have to deal with it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved every minute. Location perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The triple room we booked was very spacious and the bathroom was enormous. Breakfast was excellent quality, but it is served in a relatively small area, which can get quite busy. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were very polite and spoke several languages. The best thing about this hotel is its location: you are just outside the historical centre and all the great sites, including the amazing cathedral, are a short walk away. The hotel is very well appointed.
Cons: A little bit difficult to get to the hotel - you have to follow the directions to get to its side entry, if you have heavy luggage.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel is excellent. Since we spend only one day in Strasbourg we were able to see a lot of the city by foot. It was difficult to get to the hotel but this was due to traffic problems at that time. After parking in the Austerlitz garage we found out that it was located very close to the hotel. Just a 2 minute walk. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was on the inner courtyard as requested with a balcony. The bed was only 160 cm. wide which is a little small but still i had a good night sleep as the bed itself was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious, large walk inn shower and 2 sinks and a much appreciated make up mirror.
Cons: A coffee machine in the room would be great. There was only a possibility to prepare instant coffee and tea.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect Staffs are super friendly and helpful Comfy bed and nice room

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were attentive and polite. They also assisted enormously by email prior to our stay when the french rail service went on strike and we had to find alternative means of travelling from Basel. Their replies were fast and extremely helpful.
Cons: Access to our room by a steep winding staircase as we were staying in a part of the hotel not accessed by the lift. It would've been helpful to know prior to our stay as my mum has sore knees and climbs stairs with difficulty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location & breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Room accessories fit with the room size.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s location. Very central - near local transport. Most places walkable. A large supermarket next door and another one very near. Decent breakfast.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great Staff. Very nice bathroom with two sinks. Great location for the Christmas Festival. Super breakfast buffet with high-quality ingredients.
Cons: For the quality of the hotel, the pillow was really hard and/or lumpy. There is no temperature setting option so with the very heavy comforter, we were way too hot for sleeping. Our room faced the street and the window is not soundproof. So there were many interruptions of sleep. These combined sleep robbing issues took away from what was otherwise a very pleasant hotel experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff and clean rooms. Easily accessible from the train station and also to the major squares. Helpful reception staff were able to direct us to interesting spots and tasty bistros.

Pros: The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the Petite France. The breakfast was beyond my expectations. The room is comfortable and the staff is really friendly and helpful.

I would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Staffs were super nice, room was sparkling clean, and location was perfect.
Cons: You can hear the conversation of next door. And the wall makes noise when they move, so it woke us up in late night.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This was the first time that I visited Strasbourg. Without knowing anything about the city, I booked my stay at Hôtel Gutenberg. The location is centrally located The Cathédral Notre Dame de Strasbourg was no more than 150(est) meters away. The part of the city that is located on the island is walkable. There is tram service if one desires. I walked from the train station to the hotel and estimate that it was 15 minutes (I walk fairly quickly). If I return to Strasbourg, I will consider this as my first choice.

Pros: Location location location . Awesome location in historic district. Just a couple minutes walk to Cathedral. Clean hotel lobby and room very clean Bathroom very modern and my 10 yr old daughter loved the rain showerhead Has a new renovation feel Staff very nice and helpful as a tour guide ask for the tour map Room size not an issue no its not huge but it wasn't tiny either Ask for parking lot location . Sundays you can park on streets for free overnight if you can find a space that saves $30 Make sure you walk city at sunset it's amazing. I heard the boatride at that time is breathtaking
Cons: My daughter thought elevator door shut too slow. Had to put something!

Cons: the bed is too short
9.0 Excellent

Very close to she main attractions and shopping areas. - The staff was very helpful. - The room was small, but the bathroom was huge. Even if we stayed with the window facing the street, at night was very quiet. - The hotel is baby friendly. :)
Cons: - The breakfast could be a little bit improved with some new additions. In every morning is the same food. Lack of vegetables. - The room was a little bit tiny. - The cleaning lady is coming to clean the room even if the „do not disturb” sign is on. It is a bit annoying.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, very central
Cons: The room was mediocre, a bit worn out too. Breakfast buffet was also only average at best
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect and the service was excellent.
Cons: The bed could’ve been softer.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the location is good. maybe one of the best. room was nice but not more then that as was expected from the rate of such hotel.
Cons: the price charged is by far not appropriate for this hotel. any additional facility is charged as an extra. no wonder they are charging the place on the date of reservation without refund. the property has only basic maintenance which is poor and the total experience give you a strong feeling that it is over priced.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is very good, just make sure you tell your guests on how to reach it.
Cons: We were not given instruction on how to reach the hotel prior to the arrival. Turns out we had to get a special pass to get inside the area, as its closed off by the police during the Christmas market opening times. We were given the room 301, which has to be reached via stairs. Being 7 months pregnant this was an inconvenience and further more the entire floor smelled of canalization. The room itself was badly decorated, poorly lit and not very clean. Nights service was missing. At the bar in the evening th waiter was extremely unhelpful and only arrived after 15 minutes that we sat down. Ordered a tiramisu which tasted disgusting and had a piece of plastic stuck in it !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location couldn’t be better. Walking distance to everywhere, including the train station that is central to visiting the amazing villages in the surrounding areas. The room was spacious, especially for a European hotel, and absolutely spotless from the grand entrance to the sitting areas to the rooms. The Staff were extremely courteous and helpful in every aspect. We will certainly return to this hotel in the future!!!
7.4 Good
Pros: Staff was helpful and accommodating. It would have been a great location if coming by bus or train.
Cons: Very difficult to drive to. We had difficulties finding the property with GPS. Fortunately we were able to find parking as it was a Sunday night. Otherwise you will have to pay for valet parking. Room did not have a view, and was a looked a little dated.

Pros: Wonderful place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is my 3rd stay at this hotel. Honestly, I feel like I come to Strasbourg just so I can stay at this cute French chateau. The grounds are so cute. There are awesome walking paths in the forest with great sculptures along the way. It is near a park and ride with tram that makes it easy to get to downtown but then come back and relax in the countryside. Perfect for a Christmas Market trip!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful chateau. Comfortable rooms, however mine was in a new house next to the main building so no clue what the rooms in the main part are. Beautiful location.
Cons: Breakfast, although good, could be richer. I like to have something warm and they only seemed to have boiled eggs. Wi-Fi wasn't perfect. I had no chance to check wellness.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A real château located within vast grounds and beautiful park. Lovingly restored and very quiet. Spa center new and nicely laid-out. Free parking just outside the rooms. We arrived with an electric car and were able to set up a Level1 charge using a normal plug close to the parking area. Breakfast selection adequate. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also, walking around the park is very relaxing.
Cons: Absolutely horrible coffee for breakfast coming from a powder-mix-based monstrosity. (please, please for the love of the coffee gods, get rid of this machine!).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, professional staff, very clean room & bathroom, Room & bathroom were tight but this is quite typical. Excellent location in center of old part of city near pedestrian streets. Public parking nearby was not overpriced.
Cons: Shabby carpet in room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place in an outstanding location in a delightful small city!
Cons: Having to leave to go back to work.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff and service, fantastic location
Cons: The breakfast was nice, but the choise was limited.
6.7 Good
Pros: Recently renewed the hotel looks nice and the room very nice. Very well located and good breakfast.
Cons: There is a problem with the water system so the water temperature goes quickly from hot to cold and from cold to very hot. There is also an issue with the lightning system that has a movement detector so during night lights it may go on. This was very annoying.
7.0 Good
Cons: After telling us we could not park at hotel lot in email when we made reservation we were told a couple of weeks before our trip we would have to park in kleber garage but once we arrived, we drove into that parking garage and then we weren't allowed to park there. Took more than an hour to straighten it out. After all of that, we were told we could park in hotel parking lot after all.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is amazing
Cons: The furniture is quit old ,, the key is heavy , it was not comfortable to take with me in my bag everywhere
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic.
Cons: Our floor seemed to be under construction and the carpets on the stairs were quite worn. Not what you expect in a hotel of the caliber.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Central position, ideal for walking to the main tourist attractions an restaurants. Close to the shops. Very nicely decorated in the main public areas and the staircase has beautiful glass motifs on each floor along with very attractive ceilings and furnishings on each lobby. The lounge is very nicely set out and we were impressed by the decor throughout. Nice touch is the loan of the hotel umbrellas by the main door if it's raining.
Cons: Very difficult to locate as it is on a non- motorised traffic street and the satnav in our nearly new Volvo XC60 was totally useless once we reached the centre of the city. By luck we parked in the correct underground carpark accessed by the tram interchange at the Klber Square And a short walk to the hotel thereafter. The hotel will provide you with a discount ticket for the underground but we were not certain that it worked for us on leaving yesterday morning so remember to ask reception for the discount ticket. We understood that the hotel has its own carparking facility and when we asked about this we were told that it had to be booked at the same time as the room.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and convenience of parking, confortable bed, good breakfast.
Cons: Toiletries' offer was short
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location- straightforward to find and very close to main square. Very quiet, although that may have been due to the closed roads for Xmas market.
Cons: Pokey reception area room decor was poor, the whole hotel felt very tired. Bathroom was similarly a bit grim. Staff in the main failed to acknowledge us as we came and went. Probably the worst Mercure we have stayed in and, even allowing for rip off prices for the Christmas markets time of year, represented very poor value at nearly £200/night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and pretty view.
Cons: The carpets in the room and shower floor were old, worn, filthy. You should replace them, today!
6.0 Good
Pros: The design of the room is attractive, the room itself is comfortable. The breakfast is rich, but... The hotel is very near to the city center, where we can find very good restaurants, pubs. Even the farest famous part, La Petite France is not farer than 10-15 minutes by walk.
Cons: I asked the hotel in advance about parking opportunities. The answer in fact was useless, because a., two of the proposed underground parking were closed due to the Marché Noel, b., one of the underground parking outside the city was closed on Sunday. Even on the third day finally we've found places in the underground parking of the hotel, but just because I've asked how can we enter, the staff never offered any solution. We were not informed in advance about the cordon - entry to the city center was possible only with permission, but of course we didn't have it first. 800 m far was the closest parking (big luggages etc.)... We've got the permit from the hotel only after the second night, when I've asked them, how can we enter. The staff was not helpful, anticipative at all, they simply didn't give us tips, ideas, solutions. However, even the room is extra expensive, when we arrived we didn't have liquid soap in the bathroom (flacon was dry), and it was not possible to close the door of the bathroom (after complaining the problems were solved). Even the breakfast was very rich, the selection of the foods were good, but once we didn't find baguette, once orange juice, once filtered coffée, once ham, once fruit salad etc. Maybe the staff was overloaded, but for sure, that everytime something was missing, and building the inventory up was slow.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pillows and comforter were just right for me. I don't like them in some European hotels. Very comfortable!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, great location, clean, comfortable
Cons: The garage is a bit confusing, and very tiny

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location walking distance from train station and city centre. Convenient hotel with all amenities. Nice and helpful staff. Nice views over the Ille river and old town from front side of hotel. Located in Les Halles if you feel like indoor shopping.
Cons: The heating in my room didn't work that well. Also the bed was an iron frame and a bit squeaky. The reception was undergoing renovations so all a bit messy, but temporary so am sure it will be very nice once finalised.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location and some of the new upgrades.
Cons: Some of the new upgrades. There is no reception desk just a person at a tiny table not cool not professional. The new breakfast area is overly cramped plese remove the first row of tables closet to the buffet so people can get thru and those us eating do not have butts in our faces. The staff working the night time shift for bar resturant were terrible. We sat 15min begore being offered a menu and the food was cold and soaked in grease. There were MICE running around the eating areas YES MICE we nearly died seeing this.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is quite large, comparing to the average standard in Strasbourg for the same price. Also, despite being in a very busy area, the room was very quite. The access to city centre takes only 2 minutes walk, like the distance from the railway station. Very convinient.
Cons: The works in the common area are quite disturbing. Also, the lifts are a bit old and do not work very well. Twice my card was not reconised and I had to walk up with the stairs. Luckily I was only at the 4th floor. A gym is advertised, but it is actually external to the hotel. Nothing major, but it should correctly advertised to let the people know in advance.
