Not really worth the money
Beds were comfortable enough, reception and security were very nice. Only 5min walk from Eaton Centre, Younge and Dundas square, Nathan Philips Square and other downtown attractions - 'gay' district a 15min walk away!
While I understand this is primary a student residence, and it IS cheap for the area it's in, there have clearly not been any real updates to the room since probably the 1960s. There was no TV, or other form of entertainment (in the room or anywhere else). Only 1 electrical outlet for the entire 2-bed room (and 1 in the bathroom right behind the sink). There was only a nightstand for 1 bed, no clock at all, and the desk chairs have to be specially requested if you want to sit down (not on the bed). Worst of all was the bathroom. The shower post (that holds the removable head) kept coming out every time I lifted the shower head, the bathtub had big scratches, the finish had come off the sink counter at some point, meaning every time we used the sink, the dirt from our hands stayed in the basin for our whole stay. The cleaner only comes once a week to do all rooms - I guess we didn't stay during a cleaning day because in our 3 night stay, there was no cleaning of our room. The sink didn't drain properly and held dirty water for at least 15mins, the toilet wouldn't stop draining on a flush. Someone came to look at them, fixed the toilet, but not the drain and left dirty towels (which were our guest towels) on the floor. Our key-cards kept not working, so we'd have to go back downstairs every day. Breakfast was abundant, but not very tasty (though free).
