Fabulous Arty Hotel
Love the art, the vibe, the delicious food in the cafe, the beautiful old building and elevator. Each room was designed by a local artist, and mine had specially designed wallpaper that was full of surprising and interesting details. Comfy bed, warm room (in January). They give you earplugs in case the noise bothers you, but it didn't bother me, maybe because I'm used to living in a city.
It's an old building. Rooms are small. Bathroom shower is very small. But so worth it. Definitely reserve one of their limited parking places if you have a car.
Is this actually a hotel? More like an art gallery
Hot and cold running water, bed OK.
Ancient high wood windows with no storms. It was November and it was horribly drafty. I shudder to imagine January. Very noisy due to streetcars and railway. Room so small there wasn't room for a chair. Shower stall so small I couldn't lean over to wash my feet. Eccentric in your face art throughout. Fine if you like that sort of thing, but not my taste and hard to ignore.
