Escape to a log cabin in the woods, relax, revel, and rejuvenate at one of the most scenic hotels in Vancouver, Washington. Heathman Lodge is a rustic hotel that offers everything travelers want when they think of a cozy lakeside retreat – minus the lake.

The Heathman Lodge is located north of Portland in Vancouver, near Vancouver Mall, WSU Vancouver, and other attractions of downtown, making it easy to explore the city during the stay. The convenient location puts the lodge just a 10-minute drive from downtown Vancouver and 20 minutes' drive from Portland, OR. There are lots of restaurants within a short distance, as well as popular attractions, golf courses, park, and historical sites.

The lobby of The Heathman offers unique features such as dugout canoes and kayaks, and the overall atmosphere is great for cozying up next to the fire with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book. While there is not a lake, there is a pool, a hot tub, and an atrium for splashing, relaxing, and soaking up rays. There is also a gym on-site for a great workout. Hudson’s Bar and Grill is on-site and offers farm-to-table comfort dishes, plus an array of local wines.

Accommodations at the lodge are also rustic, decorated in a western style, cabin-style décor. All of the rooms offer Tempur-Pedic or pillowtop mattresses for comfortable bedding. However, there are tons of room sizes to choose from, each offering something special. Guests can choose from Business Level, Deluxe Level, and Signature Suites. The sophisticated signature suites feature a gas fireplace along with other convenient amenities.

I stayed at Heathman Lodge many years ago. It is still unique and beautiful. Fantastic service at a good breakfast/dining restaurant. I do wish it still had a grand entrance versus an outdoor dining area. It is difficult to know where to enter!

Pros (+) Comfortable bed and nice bathroom/sink area
Cons (-) 1. Registration in the middle of the bar/dining area 2. Poorly maintained lighting in room 3. some lights in switched outlets in the bedroom but no switches to control them could be found. 4. Terrible cooling system. Finally had to turn it off to cool the room (really) 5. Had to move the coffee table to have a wide enough path to the door in case I needed an emergency exit. This is probably a fire...

Pros (+) Great hotel- truly loved the little touches and very accommodating for us and our toddler. Would def recommend and return! The attached restaurant was also very good. We even had a gorgeous view of green trees from our window. Really great!
Cons (-) Wish we could have stayed longer! Strange location (near strip mall?) but didn't impact quality of stay at all.

Pros (+) They had great holiday decorations. Fabulous service. The accompanying restaurant was also great. Live piano and fireplaces for New Years. We would love to go back.
Cons (-) Day after New Years bar / restaurant closed at 8pm! Wish they would have put up a warning sign.
