9.1 Excellent
Pros: Attractive rooms. Charming , enthusiastic and helpful hosts. Wonderful breakfast. Lovely house and well appointed
Cons: Too far off the beaten track for our purposes and difficult to find. For those touring there were much more convenient and prettier villages round about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was adorable and the breakfast delicious. We got lots of tips of trip destinations and even got a ride to a nearby pub. A must visit!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts went above and beyond expectations. Fantastic breakfast. Local knowledge was invaluable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kel and Mel were fantastic hosts. This is the first time we've stayed in a B&B and it did not disappoint. Kel's breakfast was tasty and well presented. Thanks, Kel! :-) The location was handy, too - within a short distance of waterfalls and mountain walks. Kev gave us great advice for all of these.
Cons: I am being super picky, as I gave the property a deserved 10/10 - but trying to be helpful... A bin in the room (in addition to the bathroom) would've helped. It would also have added extra luxury to have a breakfast menu (because Kel's breakfast was so delicious and needs more publicity than it got!), and I perhaps would have liked a bit of history about how the place became a B&B. Also, I heard afterwards that Kev and Mel do photography classes... I would've taken them up on this, if I had known it was on offer. Publicise all of the good stuff more - it's a great place to stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kel and Mel have raised the bar when it comes to providing a B&B service. From a coffee on arrival to welcome us, driving us to a nearby hotel for dinner to providing information and hand-drawn mud maps on where to go and what to see. Just overall excellence in service.
Cons: Nothing - this is a quality B&B
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host, comfortable clean accommodation and fab breakfast
Cons: The outside space not quite as expected from property description
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast Very hospitable host
Cons: No restaurant or pub serving food nearby Tiny en suite bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kelvin is a perfect host. A font of local knowledge, with information about places of interest and restaurants or pubs for meals. Even drove us to and from our pub for dinner. Also provided tips for dealing with the quite steep drive which was very helpful.. We trully enjoyed our stay at Mill Lodge, Brecon Beacons.
Cons: There was nothing that did not totally meet expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was out of this word , beautifully cooked and a wide variety of choices. The location was very quiet and peaceful with pleasant walks directly from the property. The welcome made us feel at home and as ease and our hosts were very helpful in providing information about the locality.
Cons: Shower control could not be adjusted properly but this was a minor problem. DIY job for you kelvin ? Absolutely nothing else.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely property in a very peaceful valley, with a beautiful view. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast extremely tasty. The hosts are friendly and helpful without being over attentive.
Cons: This was our second visit. Sadly, the rooms with the best view were already taken and, for our room, the bathroom, although private, was not en suite. Neither of these things detracted from a lovely stay. The lanes to and from the property are very narrow but, taken with care, should not be a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hillside location with fantastic views
Cons: Expected toiletries - at least shower gel which is the norm in B&B of this standard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely house over looking the sugar loaf mountain. Sarah and Paul were so nice and accommodated out late arrival and provided an amazing breakfast. They also provided some great suggestions on things to do and see and didn't mind us staying out late - an incredible bonus is that they are located in a dark sky zone so the stars at night are incredible!
Cons: Be prepared for some narrow roads!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely views and charming family
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting, friendly helpful owners. Very comfortable accommodation.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful scenic views from our room. Hosts were welcoming and breakfast servings were plentiful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with fabulous views. Very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The owners recommended a great pub about 3 miles away for dinner. Fantastic full English breakfast!
Cons: This is not a bad thing about the property but we didn’t notice when we booked that check in wasn’t until 5pm - so that’s our fault, but perhaps a little late?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall, the experience was magical. Clean air , chirping birds, along with the sound from the stream made the whole surrounding breathtaking!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great property and very friendly hosts. Fantastic location with breathtaking views including the Sugarloaf Mountains in the backdrop.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location in the Brecon Beacons, Sarah and family very welcoming, super breakfast. Fantastic for a few days break. Lounge and dinning rooms superb.
Cons: Small ensuite, slopping roof could not stand up to use the toilet !!! Room had small roof velux's giving only partial view of the stunning valley views.

Pros: Best Breakfast in town -Excellently served

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all so friendly and helpful, over and beyond expectations. Small things, such as recognising an issue and reserving a space in the car park, even though we had not requested this. Passing on information from one shift to another so that anything such as access, was managed smoothly. Thank you.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was outstanding
Cons: Nil
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and rooms. Morning staff at breakfast were particularly helpful and very accommodating.
Cons: We were paying a high price for the rooms and unfortunately for the staff we overheard a conversation at reception when we realised we were paying considerably more for our rooms. To confirm that price we call the hotel and had indeed paid a good £50 more per room and this had not included breakfast either. One of the party approached the receptionist and she was polite but denied we were overcharged despite their phone call to the contrary. We requested to speak with the manager and met her in the morning. She was professional and did offer us free breakfast but we certainly feel with the price we paid it SHOULD have been included. Although she dealt with the problem in a professional manner she was quite dismissive. We had travelled round Wales enjoying various different hotels and this was by far the most expensive and frankly the other establishments offered us the same level of comfort with a much friendlier attitude. Basically we paid double the money for 2 extra meters round the room and a settee!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Front reception staff were outstanding and went the extra mile to assist us.
Cons: Prices of drinks and food is top end.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food is outstanding
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and most helpful. It was the best shower we have experienced travelling UK and Ireland over the previous 3 weeks. Bed was very comfortable you feel good in the room and in fact the entire Hotel, obviously the owners and staff care about what they provide. We had cereal then freshly cooked a la carte scrambled eggs and smoked salmon delightful Secure parking for guests is available. Can I use this to plug the Hat Store next to the Hotel, Alison Tod Couture Milliner. Have never seen a greater choice of hats plus Alison and her assistant were most helpful on things to see and do.
Cons: Leaving the Hotel and Abergavenny. We should have stayed longer. The web site wants me to write more however there is nothing I did not like.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice old inn which has been tastefully and stylishly modernised. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything you needed from iron to hairdryer. Plus toiletries. Bed very comfy

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We particularly liked the staff who were all friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. The setting is fabulous.
Cons: We were disappointed with one meal but very pleased with the response of the staff to our complaint.
6.7 Good
Pros: The food was fantastic, the grounds, views and area were amazing and bed was really comfortable.
Cons: For the money we paid I was expecting the wow factor - unfortunately what should have been an amazing stay turned in to an ok stay - simply let down by the restaurant staff... i.e. I should not have had to go a fetch the dessert menu myself, or not knowing who our waitress/waiter was.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property setting is tranquil and one immediately start relaxing upon arrival. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Any request is met with sterling service!
Cons: I loved EVERYTHING about this property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the wonderful view from the balcony in our room...and the food was fantastic... especially the breakfast.. This Hotel is so peaceful... all you could hear was the river running...fab... The waiting staff were so pleasant and could not do enough to make your stay extra special.. the fact that the weather was gorgeous only added to the beautiful grounds...
Cons: Only coffee in room..choice of tea would have been nice... air conditioning would be good as it was so hot... but this did bot spoil our stay at all... as we could have the balcony doors open and the windows open and blinds down...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, elegant, stunning building. Friendly staff. Lovely grounds in a beautiful part of the world. Breakfast was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were staying at the hotel as we got married in the local area. We had a fantastic stay and James and his team really went above and beyond to look after us. We will definitely be staying again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is excellent, a short drive from the market town of Crickhowell, but otherwise quite isolated on a very quiet road. The extensive grounds are superb, next to the Usk River, with walking trails through many species of mature trees. The room and ensuite bathroom were clean. The in-house restaurant provided good breakfasts and dinners (lunch was also available, but we didn't experience this and can't comment).
Cons: This is a relatively big establishment - an hotel - compared to country B&Bs, and consequently more impersonal. We didn't meet the owners, and there was a different person at reception each time we entered. The staff were courteous, but not knowledgable about the area and therefore not particularly helpful for sightseeing advice. The room was quite small with very little space for luggage and laughable wardrobe space.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location, breakfast, linen and towels
Cons: Failed to refill the coffee/tea sufficiently. Dirty glass left after room clean. Very noisy kitchen fan that woke us. Was not alerted to the proximity.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Warm friendly welcome and a lovely clean, comfortable room, very large, light and airy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful & friendly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely B&B in the centre of Abergavenny - great location. The room at the top of the B&B with a freestanding bath was wonderful very romantic - albeit very hot due to the weather, but they provided us with fans to cool us down which was great. Small touches like the local coffee and the welsh cakes in the room were great. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Service was excellent - would definitely recommend.
Cons: Only downside is no separate sower in the room, only over the bath which is in the middle of the room so not ideal!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic room, staff were cheerful and friendly, food lovely, can't fault it.
Cons: Can't think of anything really.a refr
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room in a lovely old inn. Good quality linen and attractive furnishings with a polished wood floor, suitable for dogs (room 7). Highly efficient friendly check-in and lovely breakfast with good choice of cooked options . It was great our dog was also able to come down to breakfast with us - we were positioned at a slightly separated table but within main breakfast area so both dog owners and non-dog-lovers happy ! Excellent location on the edge of the pedestrianised centre of town, opposite a park and right next to several car parks.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A good location, close to the centre of Abergavenny and across the road from pleasant parkland and formal garden. The pub itself gets extremely busy, as it has plenty of outdoor seating in the main square. This is only a problem if your room overlooks the square and you want to go to bed before 11 o'clock. The breakfast was very good - plenty of choice, and our "full English" was nicely cooked. The building itself is very old and has interesting features. Our double room on the 2nd floor was large, well appointed (with chairs and a settee) and comfortable
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property has been up-dated in a style befitting of its age yet had all the mod cons - comfy, clean beds & bedding, en-suite facility and good coffee/tea making facilities. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and the in-house entertainment.
Cons: The room was very hot and the fan provided worked intermittently if not at all, we were not proveded with another despite requesting one.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the place! Fantastic staff and a great room. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was amazing.
Cons: The food came out very quickly, we didn’t have a chance to have a glass of wine and the bread to start with. So the dinner felt very short, probably only sat down for less than an hour
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place to stay in a beautiful location
Cons: The bar area is so very popular that it became too crowded as like us if after travelling you wanted to wind down a little. However this was easily solved as we chose the excellent room service!

Pros: The staff were friendly and welcoming. The veggi breakfast was beautiful with Glamorgan sausages. The bed was so comfortable. We wanted for nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Large rooms in a great location. Very clean and well presented
Cons: The light switch in the bathroom was difficult to locate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were accommodating and friendly, the room was very clean and bright and the bathroom was lovely. The bed was super comfortable. We really appreciated the flexibility of the staff as we arrived later than planned from a day of hiking and the manager was more than happy to move our dinner booking and not give our table away. The restaurant was lively and the food was delicious!!!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was delicious!
Cons: My room was tiny and very old, there were marks on the walls and the room overlooks the kitchen entrance so it was very noisy late at night. The staff were quite rude and in general it was overpriced for what it was.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was spotless, comfortable and well-appointed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Central to local amenities, friendly staff, good food
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was average at best. Once had to wait an hour for porridge. Location on the other hand is brilliant.
Cons: Booked superior room but placed in a cubby hole which was basic at best. Moved to what I suspect was superior room second night. Rather noisy though as is over kitchen. Had booked in advance and paid in advance but staff didn't appear to be aware of it as on departure they charged me again for what I had already paid for!!!!!
7.1 Good
Cons: Very limited headroom in the shower, limited was expected not virtually impossible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful atmosphere; really genuinely friendly & helpful staff. Food is very good. Rooms are small, but include everything one needs - and very well kept.
Cons: If stairs could be an issue, be sure to take that into account - and ask the staff for a hand.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very friendly, the location and views were excellent, I would definitely recommend it.
6.3 Good
Pros: View from front of hotel is superb and our stay was very peaceful. I did like the fact that the hotel did notify us before we stayed that the hotel was holding a wedding reception on the day we arrived.
Cons: Bedroom was very small with only a double bed. It was extremely hot with only a very small window. A stand-alone electric air conditioner had been placed in the room, but this was very noisy. The room was more suited to a single traveller.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was excellent. Check-in and checkout was a breeze. Housekeeping was spot-on, our room was clean everyday. Good breakfast options. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful view through the window. Pillows were a bit uneven though. The toilet and bath was roomy and tidy as well.
Cons: Had dinner on our third night. Food is on the pricey side. The service was quite slow, it took an hour before we got our main course.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is superb with great views and ease of access to other parts of the Brecon Beacons area. The food was good and the whole place has a very friendly relaxed appeal
Cons: Service on the Sunday night in the restaurant was extremely slow even after a wedding party had departed, 35mins for our main course to arrive with only 4 other people in the place? Our room was very hot despite the addition of an aircon unit but to be fair we did book last minute and will know next time to go for an upgrade

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Close enough to walk to town. Set away from the centre of town, so peaceful. Very helpful staff who are always ready to help. Hotel has a swimming pool and a gym which can be used for a small extra fee. Beautiful gardens, perfect place to sit back enjoy a drink from the bar or a cup of tea. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had a spectacular view from our room. On site free parking. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location & very friendly and helpful staff. The view over the hills is lovely especially if you have a view from your bedroom.
Cons: The shower in bathroom of room 5, it was quite dangerous because of the difficulty in controlling the temperature. The lighting in the room was very poor could do with reading lights over the beds. Also the lighting in the dining room is inadequate.
7.1 Good
Pros: We had an excellent dinner with some friends and the breakfast was very good. The gardens were lovely with a spectacular view
Cons: Unfortunately the bedroom was unbearably hot and the fan was pathetic It needed another fan or if the staff had cooled the rooms but opening the doors it would have been less stuffy and hot. They may need to buy some airconditioning units.

Pros: really friendly and helpful staff , had a great night's sleep , comfy bed!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Poor
Cons: Food cold
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, good location, great cooked breakfast.
Cons: We booked a family room which was located in the main building. Unfortunately the room was very tired and in desperate need of a re-paint. It was also dusty and cobwebby. The bathroom was not a good standard with a hand held shower over the bath, a heated towel rail which was poorly attached and Lino curling up at the edges. The Wi-fi was also poor in our room and the bar. This was all disappointing because the reviews are good overall.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: we have stayed here many times, rooms in main building a little tired now especialy room 2 floor boards, trafic apart from these 2 minor faults a very nice place staff excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff and good restaurant.
Cons: Got charged again for my stay upon checkout, but was an honest mistake. Refund pending.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were fantastic. Good beer.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff are very helpful and the common areas are very good
Cons: We had stayed previously and had an excellent room (in an annex behind the building). We had booked to stay again based on the quality of that room but this time we stayed in the main building. The room this time was very dated and was nowhere near the standard of the previous room. To be fair the room this time was comfortable and clean but did not meet our expectations based on our previous experience. Thus our disappointment. I would not hesitate to stay again if given the original rooms but not so much the rooms this time.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely room, spacious. Bed was clean & comfortable.
Cons: bathroom needs updating. Bath fills up when having a shower. There a roof window with no blind so room was light early in morning.
6.7 Good
Pros: The grounds were very well managed. The staff was very pleasent. entertainment was good in the evening.
Cons: The property could do with a upgrade the pub its self ,the carpert were well worn and need of replaceing. And the rooms which we stayed in need up gradeing the bath room floor was grubby wall tiles patched up and holes filled were handrails had been move. very disappointed.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and parking good. Breakfast was excellent as usual. We had the largest room this time which has great view.
Cons: Still has a problem when guests use the water in their rooms it's very noisy in the adjoining rooms and the same applies when we run the taps in ours it must has the same impact on the other rooms. Can be very annoying if occurs late at night or early morning.

Pros: breakfast was good .. general service was good .. nice and bright bar and decking area ...
Cons: the bath and toilet were dirty tide marks around the bath toilet not cleaned properly .. the restaurant experience was poor.. the food was over cooked and dry .... when booking the room i thought i booked a double bed but found out later that it meant a double room and single beds... i do under stand there was a staff shortage .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, especially u have a large vehicle, and a very big car park. The inn has excellent restaurant as well!
Cons: The WiFi is not very good!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and property were fantastic, can't fault anything. All of the staff were fantastic but a couple i have to mention, really stood out to us. The lady who served breakfast and cleaned the rooms on the first few days we stayed (didn't catch her name), went out of her way on our 2nd last day to say goodbye and that she wouldn't see us on our last day. Also a man (the manager i think) had a chat with us as we were waiting for our taxi was absolutely lovely. This was our first stay in wales (we were in Abergavenny for my sisters wedding) and was just made amazingly comfortable by the staff here. They went above and beyond for us! The breakfast was really nice, easy to order and plenty of choice. Decent portions too! Honestly overall it was brilliant there, would 100% stay again and recommend to friends if they are in the area. I can't fault anything!
Cons: The location was a little out of the way of everything, but this isn't even a bad thing as it was nice and quiet around. :)
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and food were good.
Cons: The biggest problem was the cleanliness of the bathroom. It didn't look like it had been cleaned between guest but there were clean towels. We didn't complain as we were only staying overnight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfasts were very good.
Cons: a longer stay
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, decent beer, a fantastic full Welsh breakfast and a comfortable room.

7.5 Good
Pros: Room was good. The location was perfect for our purposes. The restaurant was well placed if we had wanted it. Breakfast was good .
Cons: The bed was very very noisy and creaky. The bar downstairs gave a bad impression of the place as we came in late to find the end of the night madness. Glass was shrewd on the floor with no attempt to clear it up. An altercation was narrowly avoided as two men squared up to each other.things did calm down .

Pros: Wonderful house several hundred years old. The owners are delightful. Extremely knowledgeable about the area. I had a very small single room which was just fine for my one night needs as a walker on the Offa’s Dike trail, which is virtually at the end of their quarter mile driveway. The eggs bacon and sausage for breakfast were country fresh.Could taste the difference between supermarket eggs and meat. Owners are very ecologically conscious.
Cons: If you expect to arrive in the evening, you might want to have dinner in Pandy before going to the house. It’s about a 20 minute walk from the village.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hospitality, location and breakfast. Very friendly people.
Cons: Small bathroom, but for me personally no big problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Keith, the proprietor, helped me enormously when my car rolled into a ditch because of my carelessness. He gave me lifts and organised towing truck. Thank you Keith. Went beyond the call of duty.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice host. Very kind and friendly. Lovely location.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great locally sourced cooked breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind and accommodating owners. Clean ,smart and charming
Cons: It could take some finding as it's poorly signposted. I got there more by luck than judgement. If arriving after dark it's a challenge, but it's worth it!
5.0 Okay
Cons: P00r sleeping facility
4.2 Okay
Pros: Not much really.
Cons: I was torn between a bit run down and a bit grubby - I'm going with both. We were in the Cerise room which is the twin in the attic - marks on quilts and you need to be a contortionist to get into the bath to take a dribbly shower. I didn't find the host as jolly as everyone else seems to.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For me it was perfect, right amount of space, comfy bed, goid foid and attentive hosts.
Cons: Na

5.8 Okay
Pros: Food was very good
Cons: Dated.. needs refurbishment.. Receptionist not very helpful and quite rude..
7.9 Good
Pros: Location and historic building were beautiful, staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: The en suite bathroom in our room needs a serious update, the plumbing needs fixing as hot/cold mix in the over bath shower was temperamental meaning the water was either too hot or too cold. The windows were single glazed in the bedroom, which was fine, but a couple if the lanes were cracked and in need of repair. The bedside light did not work, despite us trying to swap bulbs.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is beautiful and the grounds were great for the dogs.
Cons: This is not a 4 star hotel anymore. I last stayed here 20 years ago, then it was. Now it is totally understaffed (one person doing 24 hour shifts), they ran out of biscuits for the room and the room furnishings are very dated. We enjoyed our stay, but it wasn't worth what we paid. They shouldn't be advertising this as a 4 star hotel.

7.2 Good
Pros: On a very cold and snowy night we were warmly welcomed and immediately checked in. Our room was in a part of the hotel being refurbished so was not ensuite - however we had a bathroom very close by which we did not have to share with other guests. We were offered alternative rooms if we wished but chose to stay in the original room.
Cons: The room was a bit cool but it was a very cold night. The manager turned the heating up as high as possible.
7.0 Good
Pros: I stayed at The Park whilst working at the Ryder Cup meaning that I left every day before 6.00am and returned after 8.00pm in the evening. The Staff always offered a warm welcome when I returned and were very helpful in providing a packed lunch instead of Breakfast ready fro me when I left - sometimes as early as 4.30am.
Cons: I have to admit that the internet -which was free - was a little slow!!
