Pros: New, clean , wonderful decor, . Fabulous location . Comfortable beds. Very accommodating staff. Great small Kitchen.
Cons: Friday night crowd on the street below was EXTREMELY loud even at 4 am . So loud you could hear every word that was said.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I did like everything else. The coffee machine was excellent. Never had as high standard on coffee in hotel before.
Cons: The only thing I can mention is regarding the bed. There is a Twin or there is a double. I don't like to have twin when it says double on the website. The bed was comfortable though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and the room was clean and bright. The staff was extremely awesome. Maria at the front desk was very helpful and awesome ! We loved staying there.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fantastic hotel! Location, receptionist, room, bed all excellent. Maria (or Marie) was a ray of sunshine and very helpful. Definitely would return and highly recommend this hotel!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An excellent hotel/apartment in a superb location. The room was spacious, comfortable and had a well equipped kitchenette. All the members of staff we met were very helpful and willing to chat about the local area and places to visit. We arrived very early but Maria was able to lock our luggage away so that we could explore Reykjavík prior to our room being ready. We would happily recommend 41 - A Townhouse Hotel to friends and family. Thank you for an excellent stay!
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely decor, and Maria was such a great host!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great city location. Upscale rooms and very clean.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Warm and had a little kitchenette and espresso machine. It is in a great location very central to everything. New towels daily if needed. The lady at reception on 27th sept when we arrived was so helpful. She went out of her way to help me change pick up stops for all my tours and was helpful with information about tours and restaurants.
Cons: Some noise on a Friday and Saturday night due to party goers that’s if you’re in the front facing room. Otherwise superb
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bathroom was great. Room was comfy and location was excellent.
Cons: The TV remote was missing which was very disappointing and the staff did not seem to care. Just told me that someone must have taken it and too bad.

With a stay at Kvosin Downtown Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Reykjavik, steps from Laugavegur and 3 minutes by foot from Reykjavik City Hall. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Limited parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Good for sightseeing.
Cons: Parking is a nightmare. There is no parking associated with this property and due to construction in the area, you may have to park several blocks away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great rooms, friendly staff.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Booming bass from the hotel bar late into the night. Couldn’t get enough sleep to get up and enjoy activities on our icelandair stopover due to the hotel bar bass.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were all wonderful and helped us with everything--reception even explained the public transit system so we could get around without taxis. Everyone was cheerful, communicative, and eager to help. Room was well designed and the Kitchenette was especially welcome. Unusually spacious room with excellent shower. Great breakfast (not a full cooked breakfast but great variety and quality and the gentleman who was in charge of the breakfast was a delight--well-traveled and a native of Reykjavik, humorous and helpful). I even enjoyed the church bells--they were unobtrusive and never kept us up at night.
Cons: I would have loved it even more if it had been free :) -- but since that is not an option--no complaints!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to the middle of town. Super friendly staff.
Cons: Under the flight path for the domestic airport. Mostly day flights but still.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good Breakfast. Very Good Location With Main Attractions At A Walking Distance. Plenty Of Restaurants Around.
Cons: Limited (Parking Space (and Not Free) In Front Of Hotel. Need To park The Car 5 Minutes Walk Away In Another Paid Parking. Cost Of Parking To Be Added To Budget.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location. We got a social suite and it was a perfect set up for a family
Cons: It’s loud. You can hear the people walking around upstairs quite loudly. Also because there is no air you have to have the windows open so there is a lot of street noise. On top of that the church next door rings it’s bell every 20 mins. Every hour I get, but every 20 mins was a bit much. That said with ear plugs and a pillow on my head I figured out how to sleep just fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is incredible, we have made friend with the staff since our first stay at Kvosin. Breakfast is also great value and rivals any other breakfast around (we have tried a few other places in the city center and no one comes closer). The beds are very comfortable and the rooms very spacious. Everything is extremely clean. We highly recommend this hotel for staying in Reykjavik.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was terrific. Spacious. Modern. Beds comfortable. Centrally located.
Cons: Church bells ALL NIGHT LONG!! Every 15 minutes. Worst sleep I’ve have ever had at a hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location made exploring Reykjavik on foot super easy! Loved the bar next door as well.
Cons: The church bells ringing throughout the night! I would stay here again though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff:)! Close to fabulous restaurants and easy 2 minute walk to bus stop 1 where tour pickup “city hall” is located. Small apartment with door to terrace - light, bright, fresh air with opening windows. Cool “Boutique” venue!

Pros: Hospitality, great customer service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can tell the owner/manager cares about this place and the service provided. There was a difference between what she had on file and our reservation through Kayak, and she rectified it immediately. She also went above and beyond in providing recommendations and even helping to track down a lost credit card.

Overview Reviews

Once a 1900’s department store operated by Consul Thomsen’s family, this charming building has been renovated with modern amenities and nods to Reykjavik’s vibrant culture. It’s a quick walk from our city center hotel to Iceland Parliament, Harpa Concert Hall, the Laugavegur main shopping street, and top restaurants and nightlife. Settle into a guest room that’s uniquely Iceland with eclectic architecture and natural building materials. Along with a 49-inch HDTV and complimentary WiFi, comforts include a mini-refrigerator, espresso machine, tea kettle and laptop-sized safe. Suites offer more space and a separate living area – treat yourself to a Diplomat Suite, a corner room with a beautiful private terrace. Our luxurious amenities will keep you relaxed and recharged for your stay. Indulge in treatments in the spa, featuring an original 19th-century stone wall that reflects Iceland’s tradition of natural bathing. An award-winning chef is at the helm of our hotel restaurant and bar, open all day, and the fitness center has everything you need for a full-body workout.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and well organized
Cons: The noise at night particularly in weekends. Found it very hard to sleep with young people going home after long drinking sessions
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was nice and was open until 10:00 am, which was great. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was very clean overall. Lots of chargers for phones. Complimentary snacks in fridge.
Cons: Poor communication regarding “grab and go” breakfast. Supposedly you are supposed to order those ahead of time, but no one mentioned this nor was it in the information on the tv. So I missed out on that even though I paid for it. Towels were not recirculated. Washcloths were one-and-done which is not acceptable for $500/night. Air return vent in my room’s bathroom was noticeable dirty. Refill of complementary snacks slacked off towards the end. Could hear people hacking in the shower in nearby rooms and jackhammering in the afternoon. Overall very good but I expect more for the price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was really happy with the room, location, and amenities. A lot of really nice touches in the room (the lighting was great!) and very helpful staff. This is my first stay at a Curio Collection hotel. I will be looking at these in future travels.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spa
Cons: The water didn’t go down in the sink..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is lovely. Breakfast was good, staff polite and helpful.
Cons: The parking situation was a nightmare. The Hotel needs to give you a map of how to get to the parking lot when you arrive as google maps, etc don't have all the recent construction addressed. That map should also clearly state how to get into the parking structure after hours. We had an early flight and it took nearly 40 minutes to get someone to show us the after hours entrance into the parking lot to get our car out. We nearly missed our flight.
5.4 Okay
Pros: High ceiling rooms, new classy architecture and furniture, great breakfast and good staff.
Cons: Shower AND sink drains backed up. Construction across the building, entrance and common areas, balconies, and bathrooms could be cleaner. A bit overpriced even for Reykjavík.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yummy breakfast that was included; personable; delicious food at GOTT, happy hour which kept drink costs low
Cons: Everything was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, luxury hotel with a homey feel. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. GREAT location - close to everything. Free drink between 6pm and 7pm for the hotel's "social hour."
Cons: No bathrobes provided (only 2 bath towels in the room). We did the code for every hotel we've ever been in - if your towel is hanging up then they do not need to change it, but were surprised to find our towels had been replaced. We were put in a handicapped room and the lighting in the shower was very dim. The rest of the lights were a little tricky to control.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel is awesome... The location is great. Happy Hours were wonderful. The spa/steam room and jacuzzi incredible. Breakfast was more than you can ask for with gluten free items and Oat/Almond milks to choose from.... and FINALLY, The staff was really helpful with check-in/out and restaurant recommendations.
Cons: Noting to say negative about our stay (other than we wish it was for more than one night)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are large and the hot tub is an amazing way to finish a long day in Iceland; nice large lobby and breakfast. Location is fantastic in centre of town. Got a nice gift for it being my birthday. Cost is high but so is all of Iceland, and for comparison we had to stay a few nights at Apotek next door for the same price and got half the room size there.
Cons: Housekeeping didn’t ever replace toilet paper weirdly, had to keep asking (made more difficult by the phone not working). A few days towels weren’t either (as in left astray, not rehung up or refolded), so basically came back to an unchanged room a few times.

Pros: Its relatively big and walkable to a lot of places
Cons: Well my wife was carrying 3 luggages and the hotel stuff just stood there watching as an outsider.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The apartment very nice and all new . High end finishes
Cons: For a luxury 5 star place at that price point, I thought it was strange that no one helps you with your luggage at Check in or at check out. The girl at the front desk was super nice and offered to help herself... but I would expect some some sort of bellman on site.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, close to town and restaurants, shopping, tours and night life. Staff was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything was just perfect. And we loved breakfast.
Cons: A little complicated smart home system. I was unable to turn on the towel heater.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Location is an excellent base for walking around shopping and restaurants in downtown.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and luxurious with a modern feel and all the necessary facilities. Very impressive apartments
Cons: The only thing was possibly that the rear of the apartment was exposed to onlookers in nearby properties
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was wonderfully helpful. We wouldn’t have seen the Northern lights without them. Great restaurant recommendations!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious apartments, nicely furnished and well equipped, at a great location near the harbor.
Cons: The breakfast was ok but not much more. Recommend going to the combined bakery/restaurant next door instead.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: We had to pay $100 for losing a key. They warned us ahead of time so we understand that this was our fault.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very recomended. Great location. Easy to find restaurant .
Cons: It’s a bit noisy . For the cars and drunk people

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely house and nice breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room we got was medium size, just enough for the 2 of us. The whole place was clean and very "home-y". The breakfast was very good (buffet style) with lots of things to choose from to eat :) The localization is ok - a small town (big by Icelandic standards) with a hot tub/pool by the beach and some stores nearby
Cons: The view from the room is on the street. Luckily the traffic in Iceland is very low, so it is a very minor negative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly, the room was really big, great breakfast
Cons: Akranes does not offer much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Linda - the owner - is very pleasant and helpful. The house is very comfortable with a lovely view of the mountains. Our brief stay was very comfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Host was very kind and the rooms were very clean. Even though the bathroom was shared didnt have much trouble, well coordinated among us.The breakfast was good with healthy options for fruits and vegetables. I liked the anchovies. Nice location and we got opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world. Breakfast time was fun as we had great people stayed we all shared our adventures.
Cons: We had to get drinking water from the downstairs bathroom in the night, it would have been better to have water filled in a container for the guests.
10.0 Excellent

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice and modern room but be careful of your head if you stay in the corner room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Design of the room, we liked it a lot, even though the lights on the ceiling look like a spider:) well equipped kitchen in the room very good location near the main street Free parking Very good communication with the hotel, we got lots of information in advance which was much appreciated Wifi
Cons: The room (number 2) was on the ground level, even a bit below the ground. All people walking past on the street were looking into our room which was not comfortable. We had to put the blinds down but then there was no day light and we had to turn on the lights. For 1-2 nights ok but not for longer stay The reception office was next to our room so we were woken up by the receptionist who had opened doors and was calling loudly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Within walking distance from lots of restaurants, shopping and just strolling around.
Cons: Everything was excellent. Friendly staff, great location, cool room with lots of electrical plugs. Would definitely stay here when.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great attention to detail fine finishes good location parking
Cons: no staff on site as arrived late
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is spacious, clean, very good looking and fully equipped.
Cons: We had a problem checking in and the guy who would fix the card was late.
7.9 Good
Pros: Rooms are so beautiful and cosy. We had a view room on Hallgrímskirkja church. There is an equipped kitchen very practice. The bathroom is so incredible.
Cons: All is done with code , there is nobody to welcome you :( . BE CAREFUL don't book the private place option because the parking is for everybody even you don't pay. So we paid a expensive option for NOTHING. It's a little far of city center by foot ....
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and clean
Cons: Ground floor / a bit noisy
6.3 Good
Pros: The room felt quite high end. Free tea and coffee. Bathroom was nice. I generally liked the design even if it was a touch shabby.
Cons: When I checked in the lady on the phone checking me in (no one was there) appeared to have lost my booking. While I'd already upgraded she then told me good News, I'd be upgraded! And gave me the room directly opposite the entrance to the building on the ground floor which was exactly as standard rooms were pictured. This room was too warm to sleep in and prone to noise... And had a car park outside. I called to ask for a fan and no dice. No lamps to keep on overnight.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Privacy. Quiet. Modern. Small. Short walk from bus station and downtown main strip and church.
Cons: TV channels were comical. 800 channels only about 25 worked and all were multiply duplicated... But who goes to Reykjavik for the television??? Still, it could have been easier.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, good location and large rooms
Cons: There are no staff anywhere
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lovely woman who checked us in was friendly and personal. If I was going to stay for a week in Reykjavík I would book this hotel. It was comfortable, unique, and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed our night in a very comfortable king sized bed, the spectacular shower and other thoughtful touches.
Cons: I only had one night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location short walking distance from the church and downtown. Big room with nice comfy bed. More like a small appartment. Good price for Iceland.
Cons: Nothing really, was what we expected.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Close to the main streets and harbour.
Cons: Breakfast manager refused to help with my dietary requirements when asked. Gave us our seat at breakfast, so we went to get something, to come back to find our table given away. Rooms hot and humid. No Aircon. Beds uncomfortable. Much better hotels out there!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel: the best on our Iceland trip. The location in the centre of Reykjavik is excellent; our welcome and assistance by Jakob at the reception was above expectation; the design and character of the hotel very interesting; the room spacious and well-equipped; the beds soft and comfy, and the breakfast varied and delicious.
Cons: The only negative was that the gym needed some aircon.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Decor and relaxed atmosphere plus great breakfast buffet
Cons: Could be noisy at night

Cons: Nothing,
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Fabulous decor - really different and very trendy but comfortable. Great dinner jn the restaurant and beautiful buffet breakfast. Top marks
Cons: O
7.5 Good
Pros: location and bathroom water pressure
Cons: We found our room still not serviced at 3 pm in the sfternoon. We were told that occupied rooms were not serviiced until later in the afternoon. NOT ACCEPTABLE to then be kept waiting almost an hour when we returned to the hotel for Housekeeping to finally do our room. We were told they were on break. Terrible service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. Helpful staff. Very comfortable bed AND pillows.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable & close to shopping & dinning
Cons: No parking
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The hotel decor in this hotel is really well designed. The lobby, the lounge, the restaurant & the rooms were all super cool. We loved it! We stayed in a really great room. It had a living room with a pullout that our 2 year old slept on & a great big king in the bedroom. The bathroom had a really cool clawfoot tub & big shower. I loved the decor in our room! Blackout curtains were great as we were jet lagged & the sun doesn't go down in the Summer iceland. Breakfast was yummy & the coffee was excellent. Everything is VERY expensive in Iceland but this hotel was pricey even for Iceland. Luckily we had a free night from hotels.com do we only had to pay the taxes. I'm very impressed with Canopy by Hilton though & hope to stay in another one of their hotels.
Cons: It was a bit noisy as our room was right on the busy road side of the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good food in restaurant for breakfast and dinner.
Cons: Telephone not answered. No secure place to store luggage if arrive early. No free car parking at hotel.

7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: No phone in room - no top sheet only duvet
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed. Comfortable bedding. Very friendly and efficient staff. Tasty breakfast
Cons: Slightly noisy neigbourhood
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic! A lot of great shopping and dining nearby. The bakery next door is amazing, and I’m pretty sure they provide the baked goods included in the hotel’s complimentary breakfast. There are several bus stops in close proximity, which is good if you are planning on booking tours—many tour companies use these as pickup locations. The beds were super comfortable, and the rooms were clean. The room I was in was a bit small, but large windows provided a lot of natural light and a more open feel.
Cons: There were no dressers, just a small open closet area with six hangers. I like to unpack my suitcase when I stay somewhere for more than a few days, and I couldn’t really do that. Not a huge deal, but it was a downside for me.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic, the bed is very comfortable. Had a good rest in this hotel
Cons: As it is located in the main shopping area, car parks are difficult to get especially at night. Be sure to allocate some time to find a car park if you are doing a self drive itinerary
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Bed was very soft. Bathroom was very small with no shelf in the shower to hold shampoo and soap.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It would be nice to have twin beds. Also the room was a bit too hot overnight.
Cons: Twin beds as an option please
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent and added front desk services.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location New hotel
Cons: Missed our flight with 7 yrs old, was charged for 1 night stay as was “too late to cancel “ and had “no insurance “. Would be nice if there was some «deviation” from the policy in this particular situation and in customer service for the whole Iceland. I felt like nobody fights here for their tourists. I guess a climate plays a role here .... Next time definitely would NOT stay here, as there other options
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable, with high quality pillows and comforter. All the facilities were excellent. Our room was ready when we arrived on an early morning flight, which allowed us a short nap after an overnight flight. The stuff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent breakfast. Great location.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Could hear the clubs when I was trying to sleep with windows closed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is very central and the hotel is modern. The beds are very cunfortable.

Pros: Hotel Lotus was perfect for our first night in Rejkyavik. It was easy to get to by car, and we were able to walk to the city center with no issues. The hotel itself was simple, clean and very comfortable. The owner/manager was very nice and gave us recommendations of where to go (swimming pool, city center, etc.) while we were there. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food and fantastic coffee. Overall a perfect stay!

Cons: The location was not good for us (and the agent who booked it should have known that). The rooms were tiny and there were no family rooms or interconnecting rooms. Also being on thr ground floor our windows ( 2 rooms) looked out on to reception (so no privacy) and the apartments at the back (no privacy)

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Overall a fantastic experience! Great room, spotless clean, and well-equipped. Perfectly located, and it was easy for us to park nearby. The hot tub and the sauna were a big plus !
Cons: Quite expensive. Breakfast staff wasnt super friendly and took everything away at 10 sharp. So you'd better get to breakfast early enough
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great. From the atmosphere and decorations to the people working there. The front desk staff were amazing and friendly. They were always ready to help and had a smile on there faces everyday. We got a family sized room for two people just because I heard the rooms might be smaller. However the room was bigger than I expected including the bathroom. You hear that the shower doors fold to make more room. However even extended there is enough room for the other person to use the sink or get ready. The hotel gives you a cell phone with data included, which was honestly amazing. I made the phone into a wifi hotspot and was able to use my own cell phone throughout the trip. Just bring portable charger with you as the phone battery dies quickly this way. The hotel is also located on the main strip and perfect walking distance from restaurants and bars. But a few blocks down so you don't hear the noise of the bars at night. We never tried the breakfast downstairs as we always had say trips planned in the mornings. There is a bakery down the street that is open early I can't remember the name of it but the front desk told us about it. Big enough to sit down and have breakfast, but gets packed as well so give yourself enough time if you have morning plans. The room does come with a pot to make your own hot tea and instant coffee if you are in a rush.
Cons: Hard to say what I did not like about the hotel. The only thing I can think of is that the room gets very warm and with no thermostat to control temperature. We opened the window everyday however it only opens a tiny crack and doesn't stay open on its own. Probably from the wind outside. Just bring light pajamas with you and you will be fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, modern.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very central location with a view of the harbor. Walk to many restaurants and shopping as well as attractions. Lovely balcony off our room. Well appointed and spacious room.
Cons: no parking, you must find a parking spot on the street.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location in the centre of town near a good selection of restaurants.
Cons: Depending on what time you arrive, parking a bit of a pain. No parking assistance offered and we had to walk a couple of blocks from a covered parking garage with our cases and 2 kids and then go back and move the car later in the evening to find on street parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a large, beautiful room. Location is great. Staff are helpful.
Cons: Parking is a challenge.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstanding, so very helpful. Located on a great street for restaurants and shops, yet the room was completely quiet during the night.
Cons: I would like a bathroom a bit larger with more counter space.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Heart of Reykjavík old town, nice decoration of the room.
Cons: The room is a bit too small, hardly enough room to open one big bag, and we have 2 person with 2 bags. The noise from bars downstairs till 4am, and shortly after comes with the garbage truck till almost 7am...the downside of the location.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, location and price
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great-lots of selection and staff were constantly refilling anything that was getting low. It was very crowded, but we could still find a seat. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free parking in garage was big bonus and was main reason we choose this hotel. We checked in at 2pm and had no trouble getting a space, but it will probably be full if you arrive late. I also saw about 5 spaces at side of hotel plus there could be others in back. They also let us stay parked for a while after we checked out. Room was quite spacious. Hotel is 2 blocks up from waterfront and 1 block down from shopping street Laugavegur. Also easy walk to Hallgrimskirkja - about 8 blocks. Lots of restaurants closeby too and little supermarket 1 block away.
Cons: Hotel appeared dirty when we first entered (carpets not vacuumed, front door glass filthy, marks on walls) and there was a very unpleasant, off-putting smell of cooking/rotten something in lobby. Walls are all scuffed and banged up throughout. In the room itself there was also a very unpleasant smell like an unwashed person. I almost asked to switch rooms. It seemed the blanket on the bed smelled so we folded that up and put in storage cubby. There's only 1 tiny window to open, but we opened that as far as it would go and luckily they have a small fan in room, so we had fan on all afternoon while we were out and when we came back smell was a lot less and gone by bedtime. Bathroom shower design is really stupid. There is no curtain so shower spray gets all over door and door frame, so wood is peeling away and curling up at bottom and paint is washing away from frame and bottom of door. Drain is either clogged or too small, so you have to turn water off while showering so you dont flood whole bathroom floor. Paint on opposite wall is all chipped off at the bottom and bathroom itself smells kind of moldy. We felt it wasnt particularly clean. Hotel definitely could use some refreshing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: good location . clean room etc.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Convenient underground parking free with stay for those with a rental. They allowed us to keep our car there after checkout while we explored for a couple more hours. Easy walking to the main shopping street (only a block over!) and very close to the church.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Private free parking. Excellent rich breakfast. The room was very comfortable.
Cons: All was excellent.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The daily happy hour was very good and pleasant conversation. Many locals come to this happy hour because it's so good.
Cons: Room was sparse and very small. I would not get the standard room again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Modern and comfortable hotel 5-10 minutes from the main square and shopping streets.
Cons: The bedroom and bathroom ceiling lighting could be stronger.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location-- right off of one of the main streets but not "on the main drag", so it was quieter and a little less busy. The staff were great with recommendations. Large area for breakfast. Room was clean. Parking was in a secure/covered garage which was reassuring being in the city.
Cons: Being in the city it was a first hotel for many large tour groups who were crowding the lobby. The lighting in the bathroom was not excellent-- hard to put on make up, etc.

Pros: We really liked staying here. We were given an upgrade for our 4 nights which was a lovely beginning! Our room looked over the front and had a sea view, our daughter’s room was a little smaller opposite ours looking over the back of the hotel. We found the Rooms quite charming. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Within walking distance of most of the city. lots of restaurants and attractions to choose from in the area.
4.6 Okay
Cons: We were given a room next to the kitchen. The kitchen help started working at approximately 4:30 a.m. or 5:00 a.m. and made a tremendous amount of noise. We were abruptly awaken, unable to sleep. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and told them that we felt that we should not have to pay for evening. We were told that the manager was not present, but that she would call us in the morning to speak to us. We never heard from her.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really loved the hotel. Its about a 5 min walk either the shopping/bar areas or the water! But the staff was extremely helpful with everything!! They kept the hotel spotless and were great at suggestions for everything we inquired about! I would definitely stay there again!
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Location excellent. Parking is limited at the hotel but we found nearby street parking when the lot was full. (Make sure to pay for the meter even if the sign/pay machine might be far from the space.)
Cons: Our phone never worked even though we reported it nonfunctional upon arrival. We could not phone the couple we were traveling with -- they had a room on 5 and we were on 1. We were charged the same room charge as our travel companions but were given a much smaller room and bathroom (noticed when we visited).
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location, e breakfast, comfortable room in all aspects
Cons: 214 EUR for a first floor room one meter from the outdoor part of the bar is a ripoff. Luckily the Icelandic weather made the guests go inside in good time.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean and had breakfast included.
Cons: Not enough parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff- Llilja was most helpful and efficient! Great breakfast choices!
Cons: Thin walls...but remarkably quiet in evenings!

Cons: They did not have any Kleenex (facial tissues) in they rooms or anywhere. Front desk gave me a stack of breakfast napkins as I had a runny nose.

Pros: The room was clean but small. The breakfast was good.
Cons: The parking lot was not free. The breakfast area was crowded. Some personal at the buffet area must have a good hygiene.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: I lived in the hostel in the 1st day and the last day of my stay in iceland. The location is best, exactly the city center. You can find everything nearby. The reception room is more like a bar, you can have a coffe or beer on the roof.
Cons: Sometimes someone sing in night..
6.7 Good
Pros: I liked the location and proximity to all the different places in the city.
Cons: - the bed was not comfortable - the bedroom bathroom was alright although the bathrooms in the public spaces were always dirty. -kitchen was not well kept. I gather that this could be an issue related with guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best facilities, awesome common spaces, kitchen, strong wifi. Very clean and well-appointed rooms. Staff is very kind and helpful and not arrogant even if the bar area attracts trendy clientele
Cons: Street noise required earplugs (but the location couldn't be better so it's understandable)
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and pleasant with tours, directions, getting back to airport, and any other questions people had. Breakfast was sufficient for a hostel and this was good because eating out could get pricey in Reykavik.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to stay if you want to visit the center of Reykjavik. Nice dorms, simple but confy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is exact in the center of the capital. The reception is also the bar. One can buy coffee, beer there. Idear place for investigating the city.
Cons: Someone is singing in night......Ok, I understand that it is in the city center. In a 8 people room, there is only one toilet inside the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is good, many restaurants and shops nearby, near bus stop 3.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and central. The owner and a night receptionist who checked me in was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Everything was great except on my first night a group of boys returned to the dorm drunk at 4am and made a lot of loud noise and flashed the handset torch on my face. I had to change my room for the next night and all was fine. The issue was beyond the control of the owner. Checkout was 11am. and at 11.05 i was just putting my clothes on and about to dash out when a man barged into the female dorm without knocking the door and saw me half naked. It would have been courteous to knock even though i passed the checkout time by 5 minutes.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The fun atmosphere - foosball table, books, events, a bar The location was great - float to everything The staff was very nice in explaining check in and holding my luggage for me once I checked out and went on a tour.
Cons: It gets really hot in the dorms and the bathroom shower didn’t drain properly so it flooded a little bit. They quickly worked on getting it fixed.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very good location, staffs are helpful. Quite clean. Got a nice bar and terrace.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect and Kasia who is one of the staff, was so patient and helpful. Unlike other hostels with bars where the staff make guests wait to check in while they serve walk ins cheap drinks she prioritised the hostel guests first, well done.
Cons: Can be a bit noisy in the bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: clean, central, modern, spaciousness.
Cons: Loud music at night.

Cons: Can't think of anything.
6.5 Good
Pros: The location was very nice and central.
Cons: The hotel staff were rude and not helpful. One night there was so much noise from people talking and partying until 3:00 am. Could not sleep. The buses no linger pick you up at the hotel. It the walk to the bus stop is less than five minutes. It was still inconvenient with all our luggage. We did not know that when booking.

Pros: Excellent location. Friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing. The best we had in Iceland! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the rooms exquisitely clean!
Cons: It got a bit hot in the room at night, but it was a minor issue.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is very central, easy to reach from bus stop 1 where most tours depart from. It was very clean and the room was silent. Communication was easy and the front desk very helpful.
Cons: I paid for breakfast on departure as it was not included in my booking and, after staying in 8 other hotels across Iceland, it remains the most expensive one I had during my stay. Nice buffet, but a little too expensive for what is offered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, very clean and comfortable, helpful staff.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a very good location, and all the nice neighborhoods and sights can be explored on foot. Public (charged) parking was available around the corner.
Cons: We did not pre-book the breakfast but decided on site instead. The breakfast was OK but came with a hefty price.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is perfect and the personnel is very friendly.
Cons: This was my second stay in this Hotel after a cruise. My room was so small that I could hardly open my suitcase . The bathroom sink was so tiny that I had problems to wash my face. This was a like cold shower , at my first stay I had a very nice room . This Hotel is overpriced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous hotel in a wonderful, central location. A little tricky to park in that we arrived on a Sunday and the road was blocked off at the entrance (one way street) but of a weekday this isn't an issue. Parking is free on a Sunday so that was a bonus. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, but due to the pouring rain we ate in Jamie Oliver's restaurant on site and it was excellent. Breakfast was very nice (also in Jamie's hotel) and the staff were very accommodating, granting us a late checkout so we could do our bicycle tour.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location in the city centre. Very spacious and renovated rooms. It keeps the art deco charm. Pleasant staff.
Cons: The access to some of the rooms through a service lift that is not in line with the luxurious ambiance of the hotel. A lot of noice in the vicinity of the hotel until almost 2:00 am during the weekend.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked that it was smart and clean and that it had a no nonsense feeling. I also liked the room which was facing the street and in a corner. A loot of natural light in the room.
Cons: I thought that staff could do with a little more smiling. They were too stiff, I think. The hotel restaurant is a bit cheap stuff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, nice decor
Cons: Not best value for the money. Breakfast expensive
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: the room we were assisgned smelled like a toilet that hadnt been flushed. we had some lysol so it helped but i am sure it is a problem with the plumbine
Cons: see abovre comment
7.3 Good
Pros: Quiet, private.
Cons: I arrived at 7am but paid for the night before because I needed to sleep. At 12 noon it here was a nock on the door and a moment later a phone call. They wanted me to check out even though I had a five day reservation . Actually should not of been charged for the first day because I didn't get what I paid for, sleep. The staff was always to busy on the computer to acknowledge guest unless you engaged them.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everybody in this Hotel was very friendly and always happy to help you. The location is city center and everything is close by, specially good restaurants.
Cons: This Hotel is quite expensive, the breakfast is very poor and doesn’t offer choices. For the money you pay you don’t get a correct breakfast .
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Quiet and close to everything. Room was adequate for my purposes and comfortable to sleep in. The staff was helpful and friendly. Will definitely come back.
6.3 Good
Pros: Well located and vice rooms
Cons: On our last night there we had very rude staff at reception, they then proceeded to tell us not one , but two credit cards had been declined . The next day I found charges had gone through on all the credit cards ! They were all working !
7.9 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: The room was in the back, the logistics at night disturbing
5.7 Okay
Pros: The location is great
Cons: There are so many more hotels in the area that in our opinion had much more to offer. We experienced a few hotels in the Reykjavik and the others were similar in price (if not less) and the staff was so wonderful and friendly, rooms were above and beyond and the amenities were far superior. Overall would give this a 3 out of 5 star.
