The meet and greet from Michaela was very nice and the communication was very good to be honest. Location was good to. The room was very spacious. Very big room (besides the bathroom).
So there were good bits and also bad bits. So the bad bits included my room wasn't attended to by housekeeping for 2 days in a row..I actually had to clean it myself after requesting a vacuum and cloth with spray! In addition to this I ended up with over 20 mosquito bites during my stay (due to the canal being close by apparently). The tv didn't work at all during my entire stay. The bathroom was very narrow.
The location of the property is very good (there were others equally as good available when booking). The room was large and the view of the trees from the room is nice. The bathroom was clean.
Room needs a lot of work to make them acceptable for the type of money I paid. It has not been redecorated in a long time and in spots where pictures had previously been hung there were still screws sticking out the wall and shadow outlines where the frames had sat against the wall. The fridge in the room could not be left on because it made a grating high pitched humming noise. Furniture did not go together, was very old (not in a good way) and I suspect much of it has been bought on Kings and Queens days over the years. We were only given one set of keys and told it was not possible to have a second set, and because we had separate schedules for part of the trip this was extremely inconvenient and even meant we had to change and cut short some plans. There is almost never anyone around, which would have been helpful given that we only had one set of keys. The room itself was not clean, which is even more outrageous given the €45 cleaning fee (it was not clean around the edge of the ceiling, on tops and surfaces of furniture - I took pictures of some examples of this in case it is challenged). The curtains looked cheap and did not keep the sunlight out in the morning - also have pictures of this. To top it all off, while there were apparently wifi hubs on every floor, coverage was still very lacklustre in our room. There is a review of the hotel that says the breakfast is amazing... they don't do breakfast anymore and to my thinking that review should be taken down now as it is misleading. Definitely struggled to find enough value in the hotel to justify the high price (when compared to much better standard accommodation with an equally good location).
The location was fabulous. The staff were friendly and easy to contact. The room was spacious. The beds were comfy. Internet worked well.
We had to pay up front in cash which was inconvenient. There wasn't anyone working on site which was unexpected for a hotel. Our room was not serviced daily, hence we ran out of toilet paper. Our room wasn't ready for our check in time of 3.00pm. We were eaten alive by mosquitos. There was no tv in the room although it was advertised as having one.
Location. Size of room. Natural light in day. At night only one overhead light.
No Service, emptying of rubbish, dry towels. No bedside lights. A kettle but no cups/glasses. Stale tea bags. Coffee years out of date. Broken shower off wall. Wi-Fi unusable. No soap in toilet. Expensive but not good value for money.
Location was great
No tea / coffee bits even though there was a kettle. I requested an iron / ironing board but my request was ignored. This was difficult as I was staying for work and needed to look presentable
