Shocked at the one-way fee!!!Pros:AVIS in Bergen was extremely helpful. Due to the bicycle race we could not return the car as planned. The local AVIS people were very accommodating in agreeing to pick up the car and allowing us to catch our flight back to Stockholm. They could not have been more helpful. The poor rating is solely due to the excessive one-way fees and the failure to explain these to us.Cons:Nobody unexplained costs for a one-way rental and fact that they could change this fee at their discretion. The Bergen AVIS office increased the one-way fee by 3x (from 4000 SEK to 12000 SEK) without any notice that they were doing that. We did not discover this until we returned from our trip and I checked our credit card statement. The total cost of the 3-day rental was over $2300.00. We feel cheated and taken advantage of and will likely not rent from AVIS again! When I called AVIS customer service I was told there was nothing that could be done....in essence it was our fault for not asking in advance. extremely disappointed.Reviewed 5 Oct. 2017
