Pros: Location is really nice. it's just a minute walk from train station and as well as free parking space next to the hotel. breakfast is also nice.
Cons: room was bit noisy than other hotels in same price range. wall's noise insulation might have opportunity to improve.
Pros: The staffs were very kind!
Pros: Simple, but full of facilities! Small hotel but the feeling living in is much better than the other big group’s hotel- about the space , the cleanliness
Pros: Spacious rooms. Quaint design and environment. Close to eateries.
Pros: It’s so well located for travellers who rely on public transport. It’s close to the JR train station, the tourist info office and to the local bus stop where you can hop on the bus to the Blue Pond and Shirogane onsen and waterfall. And the dinner in the lobby restaurant is pretty good.
Pros: Good location. Good breakfast.
Pros: The room we had was large (it was a disable persons room) The included breakfast was good.
Cons: A little hard to find, a sign out the front of the building would help.
Pros: Room is spacious, and clean. Toiletries provided are excellent.
Cons: Breakfast spread is decent, but it closes too early at 9am.
Pros: Room is clean and beds are comfy
Cons: No western breakfast or egg station
Pros: Love the breakfast and my parents love the bed. Easy to find and close to all nearby flower farms. Free onsite parking available. Will stay again!

Pros: It's an excellent stay there with kind staff and good service. We wanted to experience Japanese style accomodation with food which was very satisfactory. Everything was clean and we really liked breakfast and dinner there. It's what you expect from your holiday. We enjoyed hiking Asai Dake and good quality of hot spring there very much as well. The futon beds were comfortable and I couldn't find any complaints there. I wanted to go back one day if I can.
Pros: good breakfast and good dinner. good spa in open area. good staff attitude, helpful! enjoy very much.
Cons: need more clear notice of the spa time.
Pros: This felt like a real Japanese experience. Two wonderful onsens, half board included very substantial Japanese breakfasts and dinners. My daughter and I shared a large double room where futons were put out for us during dinner and rolled up during the day. My friend had a small but comfortable single room with a western bed. The staff were delightful and mostly spoke some English. This was the most expensive of my 6 bookings in Japan but well worth it. Snow was beginning to melt but we took the cablecar up Mount Asahidake to see the scenery and the volcanic gas holes - definitely needed the ski poles we had rented but sadly failed to notice that cave borrowed Wellington boots at the upper cablecar station.
Cons: I liked it a lot but not for people who want something other than Japanese food.
Pros: The onsen are fabulous and the food spectacular. Our room was big and comfy. The staff very friendly and professional. Absolutely recommended!
Pros: The onsen is amazing. Food is excellent. Overall top quality for a high-mountain accommodation
Pros: Traditional feel to the rooms. The food was also very traditional but excellent quality and lots of it. Staff were excellent and onsens were clean and enjoyable
Pros: A very Japanese experience in a hotel with a famous hot spring. The location was great: at the foot of Asahi Take which is a splendid volcanic mountain which we went up and did a magnificent circuit through volcanic landscape and steaming fumerolles. Food (entirely Japanese) was absolutely gourmet - about 8 tiny delicate well-presented courses. There were set menus (so no choice) and after three days they repeat. Breakfast was delicious and had lots of choice. The onsen was very special with outside and inside parts. Most guests wore yukuta (kimonos provided by the hotel) to meals and round the hotel. We had a Japanese speaker with us and while it would have been perfectly possible without, it was nice to be able to translate what we were eating. We had western style bedrooms.
Cons: The coffee
Pros: Everyone in the staff where really kind, the service is one of the best I have seen.
Pros: The staff were absolutely wonderful and could not have been more helpful. The food was prepared with care and attention and was such a fantastic addition to the experience (even if pickled fish for breakfast ain't my thing). It is the quintessential Japanese Onsen hotel experience - we found it so enjoyable.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Pros: The decorations were great. Also liked the ice cream at the lobby. Breakfast variety was awesome and the service was excellent.
Cons: Small shower
Pros: There is private onsens, no reservation is needed. Free coffee and ice cream in the lobby. The surrounding is quiet and nice.
Pros: Excellent service and friendly staff; loved dinner and breakfast, on-site onsen, and being able to choose our preferred pillows.
Cons: No real complaints, we only stayed one night and had a great experience.
Pros: The room and onsen were fantastic. The private onsen without a reservation is great. One of the best onsens I've been to in Japan.
Cons: I didn't like that the price doesn't include dinner because you have no other choice for food except the hotel as there is literary nothing around there. So basically add $50/person/night for every booking.
Pros: Onsen! Public and family/private!
Cons: No dinner if not reserved and prepaid one day earlier.

Pros: All staff were amazing especially the Reception lady
Pros: Meal , good food .
Cons: Staff service , very bad , no smile , impolite , not willing to communicate , no staff carry luggage f us , problems is only hv one staff look after all hotel guest , multi role of this staff , a receptionist , concierge , also a waiter of resturant , ridiculous arrangement .
Pros: Super clean all around
Cons: Shower head with restricted flow
Pros: The staff were very friendly. Inside it is a very well appointed hotel. The meals were buffet style, with a lot of options and very generous. Lovely view into the forest from the dining room. It is very close to the ropeway for climbing Asahi-dake.
Cons: The outside of the hotel looks like a construction zone. It is a bit hard to find, behind an abandoned building. At first sight we were a bit worried but inside it was very elegant. Apart from climbing the mountain there is nothing else to do here. Doesn’t even feel nice to go for a walk from the hotel.
Pros: Food both breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Truly.
Pros: The staff were amazing!! Particularly the concierge, she was the best!
Cons: Nowhere comfortable to stretch on the floor. All lovely hardwood floors.
Pros: Big Room and frienly staff
Cons: Smell the cooking all the night.
Cons: The hotel made an error on the billing and this is impossible to reach them to make them correct the mystake. Worst service ever.
Pros: Fantastic location, just underneath cable car to view mountain and volcano . Food good
Cons: Two of our four beds were risen higher on beautiful floor boards .In the middle of the night when I went to the bathroom I miss judged floor and fell and bashed my head

With a stay at Minshuku Cress in Biei, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Hokuseinookatenbo Park and Sanai no Oka Park. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: very near to biei train station and very clean.
Cons: check-in/out time is a little bit restrictive.
Pros: Cress is a hostel . It’s well manipulated. The room is clean with shared bathroom &toilet. It has a convenient store & super market nearby. Staff is friendly &helpful.
Cons: The room is small and no mirror. It’s a bit expensive.
Pros: The pension is western style, has a shared shower and washing area. The rooms are very clean, and bright. The shared lobby has a table with 6 seats and a fridge for your food, free coffee in the morning. The breakfast is additional fee of 700 yen (if I remember correctly) and is japanese style. Closeby is a convenient store.
Cons: The rooms are a bit loud. Sound isolation could ahve been better, but after 9 p.m. everybody was asleep, anyway.
Pros: Staffs were so kind.
Cons: Double Bed was too small(width was 110cm, it is super sigle bed in other country) to sleep for 2 guests, I've never slept like this so far. We moved bed from the wall and lay oneself down sideways. and room was also not big enough(2.5m X 2.5m).
Pros: the staff were very kind and helpful. The accomodations were clean and reasonable.
Cons: bed was too hard
Pros: Clean, cpmfortable, friendly staff, quiet, new
Cons: The bed is too small for two person
Pros: Great location. It's a few minutes walk from a nearby grocery, convenience store and Biei station. It was a great place to stay to take the bicycle and bus tours that goes around Biei like the Blue pond tour and the Patchwork town tour. The toilets and showers were shared, but we didn't have that much of a problem with it, it was always very clean.
Cons: No microwave in the kitchen area, just some hot water, coffee, and tea, which were ok, we ate a lot of instant noodles instead.
Pros: Staff are very helpful
Pros: Location is near the JR, 5mn on foots.
Cons: The price is not worth comparing to the accomodation.
Cons: The owner is not friendly and too strict too small
When you stay at Asahidake Onsen Hotel Bear Monte in Higashikawa, you'll be on the boardwalk and steps from Asahidake Ropeway. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Next to the rope way with easy access to the mountain. Great onsen.
Cons: The buffet dinner was pretty intense! Some good food but buffets always freak me out. kids loved it.
Pros: Great breakfast and dinner, they were both different. But if you stay for more than 2 days, i believe the food buffet will repeat itself
Cons: Nothing much, the reception perhaps should learn to speak more english and perhaps recommend places of visit to tourists? Just suggesting
Pros: The breakfast was excellent - great mix of Asian and Western foods. Also true of the dinner. The property is very close to the rope lift, which makes walking over easy. I also liked the onsen -- lots of different baths to choose from. If you don't mind sleeping on a futon on the floor, the Japanese rooms are a little better than the Western rooms.
Cons: The rooms were outdated and could use some spiffing up. Given the remote location of the hotel, it's understandable that it doesn't look like a new Tokyo hotel, but it could use some revamping, particularly for the price.
Pros: The property is right next to the ropeway so very convenient for a hike. We enjoyed the private onsen.
Cons: Still a smoking hotel, we couldn't get the smoke out of the room and the corridor smell of cigarettes is awful. The buffet food is very average, we had much better experiences in other places. Staff speaks very limited English, so when you need to arrange something (there was a misunderstanding about our onsen time), it is very difficult.
Pros: Very nice onsen, close to Asahidake ropeway Very friendly staff
Cons: Buffet dinner everyday the same Rooms a bit old
Pros: Very convenient location to explore the Asahidake ropeway. Room was dated but still clean and fairly comfortable (though there was no aircon in the summer)
Cons: Breakfast and dinner buffet - food looked better than it tasted. No aircon during summer and we had to request for a fan. Staff did not speak much English. Onsen was so-so. Overall this really costed too much for what was offered. Worst hotel during our trip. If you really want to stay in the area, a hostel might be a better option.
Pros: Good buffet dinner and breakfast in an excellent location close to the cable car station.
Cons: Pillow too hard.
Cons: Buffet dinner was not satisfactory.
Pros: - The location is amazing, right next to the Ropeway to Asahidake Mountain. - Breakfast and dinner were good, good variety, fresh and tasty. - Free, well-maintained onsen. - The shop is reasonably priced and there is coffee and tea in the lobby. - The room is rather spacious. - There is a direct bus from Asahikawa station. - It is possible to rent wellies for a walk in the mountains, it was rather useful.
Cons: - The staff is not friendly, even rather grumpy.
Pros: Location is nice for hiking the mountain and enjoying nature.
Cons: Price for children is high (considering you pack into the same room) and food wasu average.

With a stay at Yumoto Shirogane Onsen Hotel in Biei (Shirogane Onsen), you'll be steps from Shirokane Hot Spring and a 1-minute drive from Shirahige Falls. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Next to Shirahige waterfall and 5 minutes by car to the Blue Pond. There are also indoor and outdoor onsens which are open most of the time. Breakfast and dinner are provided, and both are of reasonable quality. They also make your bed for the night while you are at dinner!
Cons: The toiletries would need to be obtained from the reception counter.
Pros: There's waterfall around hotel. It's view is awesome and makes us cool without air coditioner despite of season. (It was summer early August)
Cons: Facilities seems too old and my room is located on seperated building.
Cons: 1. There was no air conditioning in our rooms. 2. Receptionists do not speak English. 3. There was Hot Spring Tax charge which was not mentioned during booking. In fact, I never had Hot Spring Tax charge in other hot spring hotels I stayed in Japan.
Pros: Nice japanese room. Onsen is large and of good confort.
Cons: The room window was on a technical back office (noisy on the outside). Too large hotel to feel genuine.
Pros: Special place. Very Japanese atmosphere. Excellent food. Spacious room. Nice onsen. Nice waterfalls nearby.
Cons: Wifi only in the reception area (we knew that in advance), but even there not very reliable. Rooms could use some renovation.
Pros: Onsen was pretty ok. Dinner setting is fine. Location next to Shirogane waterfalls.
Cons: Place is old, and smells accordingly, would need some shape up. Dinner is quite however average. Staff not the most service minded.
Pros: Thanks for upgrading. The room is excellent.
Cons: it's not smell good in bathroom.
Pros: Great location. Right in front of Shirahige waterfall and very close to Mt Tokachi
Cons: There is no air conditioner. Impossible to sleep in summer.
Pros: Onsen is quite good.
Cons: Air condition in my room is not working for the first night once I reported to the front desk they just asked us to open the window which it’s not a proper response action compare to the price. In the morning I had to report for the air condition again and then they found it’s not working and ask us to pack for room changing (we stay here 2nights since we don’t want to pack and unpack but finally we had). We have to put our stuff at the counter since they don’t have space room for us (actually it was rain outside if we still have room then we can stay and relax at the hotel but we have to go out even it rain) and in the evening we got a new room with smoking smell :(. And dinner is not really good enough quantity is ok but quality is not that good. And we don’t eat beef but they served for the first night and no change when we asked for it. The hotel quite old.
With a stay at Hotel ParkHills in Biei (Shirogane Onsen), you'll be a 4-minute walk from Shirokane Hot Spring and a 1-minute drive from Shirahige Falls. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast is very good.
Cons: Hotel room too old, toilet too small, no facility.
Pros: Close to waterfall, onsen and bus stop. Rooms were spacious and bed was comfortable.
Cons: Very small bathroom for such a spacious room. The Hotel's English website indicated there was a airport shuttle and didn't mention the need to book but on arrival I was told shuttle wasn't available the day I was leaving and I had to pre book by 3 days. Staff not regretful about inconvenience and told me I could catch the 2 buses which would take over 2 hours airport was 20 minutes drive. Shuttle was one of reasons chose this hotel.
Pros: Very good Onsen, clean room
Pros: Great hotel if you wish to visit the Shirogane area, good facilities, friendly staff. Make the most of the buffet breakfast. I would say the dinner seemed a little pricey so I ate at the small cafe up the road, but it would be good for families or groups as it’s another buffet. No tattoos in the pool!
Pros: The hotel locates adjacent to shirahige waterfall, its surroundings was so great. But the onsen’s cleanliness was not meet my expectation.
Cons: Surrounding views.
Pros: Very near to the blue pond.
Cons: The onsen was very old. Very far from town.
Pros: Many facilities! There’s an indoors pool, arcade, gym and even a karaoke bar, albeit, only open for groups. The onsen is gender segregated and open all day except during the cleaning hours.
Cons: Inaccessible location
Pros: Next to the beautiful Shirogane falls
Cons: Location a bit far, it would be good for a night stay nothing much to do. Frozen Blue pond now. Can give it a miss
Pros: - Free Onsen (Not using though) - Facilities such as restaurants, swimming pool (Not using both), and convenient stores - Location is very close to Blue Pond
Cons: - Location is in the middle of nowhere (apart from Blue pond), most of the restaurants nearby are closed early. So the available dinner options are either hotel's restaurant or instant noodle bought from hotel's convenient store. - Rooms are aged and mostly clean, however, as we booked 4 rooms, we found one room was left unfinished cleaning when we checked in. - Hotel is crowded by tours
